I’m surprised they didn’t make an animated series out of the Clue Finders material. The humor and characters are well developed enough that a tv show would be easy to do!
You and me both. This would have been the perfect show to air on something like PBS Kids or Nickelodeon. Maybe even Cartoon Network or Disney Channel. Most likely PBS Kids, though, since they're content is geared more towards educational material than the other channels are. They could even adapt the games themselves by dedicating a few episodes for each game, and have it run for as many episodes as it takes for the games to be adapted. And if they want to create original stories, that would work, too.
If they were able to make an animated series of Cluefinders, which studio would they get to do the animation? (examples: Rough draft studios, DIC, etc…) Also if they were unable to get the main cast from the games to do the voices, who would voice the characters?
holy shit. I can't believe I found this game after 20 odd years of it being a faint memory in my brain. I remember being so freaked out by "the faces within the face" and "the fish within the fish", and the spot on the island where it rained fish. This game is a lot shorter than I remember, but I also think I never finished it as a kid. Also, Laptrap's voice is eerily similar to Nathan Lanes (Timon's voice actor from the lion king) Even though they're not the same guy.
Man, finally found this game again. It was a very vague memory. For a educational game it really left an impression. This game was pretty unnerving for a kid, and I loved it.
I remember this one of the best math games in grade school I never had any classmate that complain about the game being creepy scary etc we were all into it
True, I still have a pathological fear of Easter island, submarines and basically anything under water. The music stayed in my head all these decades too...
I think I shipped Joni and Santiago before I knew what shipping was. Also laptrap is the best character I love him. Also, I played the number thing with faces so much I started recognizing the numbers without translating them first
Such a good soundtrack in this game. The foreboding tracks were definitely the most memorable, like the ones that played during the face within the face or fish within the fish segments.
always was obsessed with the predator prey simulation. Looked it up and it looks like it integrates calculus equations and flow diagrams with stable points for solutions. No wonder it seemed so interesting. 1:21:23
I honestly hated that minigame (still do even after all these years), it was so dull, and I had to brute force a solution for each problem. But I did like the A.I. in charge of the simulation. If anything, that might explain my dislike for Calculus.
Hol-ee CRAP! I buried this game in the deep recesses of my mind.. Talk about nostalgia.. It's been about 20 years since I've even seen anything about this!
God this game freaked me the fuck out when I was little. It was this eerie island that people kept disappearing on and then you unravel the mystery of the aliens and it being a space ship and everything and guh. So damn creepy. I did NOT realize how giant the aliens actually are when I was little. And since you don't see ANYBODY that was in the space ship other than the main characters on the boat at the end I always assumed they got taken away and had their brains eaten and stuff.
Should have listened to the Translator face/Translator fish regarding how many times I can transform a Cryptile (noted by number of corners clipped off every time I transformed)
It's a travesty that I played Cluefinders and Riven in my childhood...and Riven was the only one I beat. I feel it's also twisted that I could probably take on Cluefinders today, and it'd still be a genuine challenge, despite the sufficient psychological bludgeoning that comes with aging, which would give me everything I need to beat Cluefinder.
I love the tone of this game. It is all confused and mysterious but wonderful. Though I quit, this was my favorite game. The Cryptile characters is Blanche from Tennessee Williams' "A Streetcar Named Desire" play.
14:51 Hahaha, how did I miss this line when I was little? I always thought the Head Face was a stoic, serious guy. I never realized it was just an act! XD
Just remembered about this today, hadn't even thought of it since like 2001! The lady in the rain's background music used to creep me out, still kinda does...
Sometimes the random "I seem to have another crepatile stuck in my air tube! *SPIT*" thing will pop into my head. They need to make this downloadable on steam or something. The memories are worth it.
3:57 Uh, I'm good with earthquakes because I'm from California, a state known for earthquakes, but volcanoes, it actually depends on the type of volcano, for example, volcanoes from Hawaii are calm, steady, and slow, maybe this island has a 🌋 that erupts quietly, slowly, and steadily.
I remember having a pretty big crush on Owen back when I played this, lol. I even remembered his name before it came up in the video. I remember playing this on a computer with no speakers, so I could never get past the part with the crossword puzzles. I also didn't know that Owen was pretty useless since I couldn't hear anyone talk, lolllll.
I couldn’t read when I played this in like 1st grade and couldnt put the kriptiles in the right order so I would just try every combination until I got it right LOL
Dumb question: How do you save? I downloaded this game (and don't want to spoil it by watching the whole walkthrough), but it will not save my name when I exit. Is it supposed to be automatic saving?
I wonder the same about any nostalgic game. Petz 3, Caesar, Sony the Hedgehog, the old GTA, Snowboard SSX, and the game with those race cars in the south of the US.
Owen reminds me so much of Michelangelo the teenage mutant ninja turtle dude. They both have something in common: 1. Surfing 2. Saying the word Dude and of course 3. Food especially pizza.
I cannot mount this ISO file when i try to download it from oldgamesdownload. It either doesnt mount or the file is corrupt. How did you get this to run on Windows 10? Much appreciated. Im dying to play this as well as the others
If Donga the talking Dingo Malinois Dog is there with Joni, Santiago, & LapTrap, he would feel timid & stick with them no matter what when saving Owen & Leslie in a mysterious island, which happens to be an alien spaceship, operated by 3 predatory aliens!👽👽👽
Probably the worst part of this game is that the CrypTiles that are used in the Fish Within the Fish never contain more than one usable word, so you have to play each collection puzzle at least 12 times.
I’m surprised they didn’t make an animated series out of the Clue Finders material. The humor and characters are well developed enough that a tv show would be easy to do!
they did make a few books based on the IP
You and me both. This would have been the perfect show to air on something like PBS Kids or Nickelodeon. Maybe even Cartoon Network or Disney Channel. Most likely PBS Kids, though, since they're content is geared more towards educational material than the other channels are.
They could even adapt the games themselves by dedicating a few episodes for each game, and have it run for as many episodes as it takes for the games to be adapted. And if they want to create original stories, that would work, too.
Right, I think it would've been an awesome 😎👍 show
They had plans to make a show and even appointed a writer and animator but nothing ever came of it and then the project got scraped.
If they were able to make an animated series of Cluefinders, which studio would they get to do the animation? (examples: Rough draft studios, DIC, etc…) Also if they were unable to get the main cast from the games to do the voices, who would voice the characters?

This is the only game that scared the heck out of me when I first played it.
Daniel Jones What about the way the screen was shaking indicating that the volcano was erupting?
Yeah definitely left me unsettled too. Glad to know it wasn’t just me.
I was terrified by the appearance of the aliens at the end, and the thought of them eating human brains.
I remember this one of the best math games in grade school I never had any classmate that complain about the game being creepy scary etc we were all into it
Yeah i never played this one I only played the 3rd and 4th grade version.
THE MEMORIES ARE ALL COMING BACK TO ME NOW
I'd kill for a version of this on steam - or any of the cluefinders games in general :\
+Matt120 i swear
Oh my gosh, YES!
hi look up sheepshaver. and maybe macintoshgarden.org has it
Know what you mean, I kept 4th and 6th grade cluefinders from my childhood. Will be showing my son the games soon
The learning company isn’t even around anymore. :( I am probably having a family soon and these ARE the reason I’m an engineer. I need these games
this game was so creepy and eerie back in the day, still is
sometimes it crashes when i am at the Faces Within the face activity putting the computer in stasis (which requires resetting to waken it)
Phew glad I’m not alone. This was the last one I played because of that.
It was eerie lol... I would still try to beat it though. I never did though :/
True, I still have a pathological fear of Easter island, submarines and basically anything under water. The music stayed in my head all these decades too...
The ending scared me so bad as a kid that I had to sleep on an air mattress in my parents' room for like a week
I think I shipped Joni and Santiago before I knew what shipping was.
Also laptrap is the best character I love him.
Also, I played the number thing with faces so much I started recognizing the numbers without translating them first
The first bit, yeeees!
oh my god I was just thinking that while watching the first cutscene, babys first ship
This game was surprisingly Lovecraftian back when I played it I just never realized.
Isn't it just conway's game of life?
It freaked me out. The music still gives me goosebumps.
Don't you just need a low amount of predators and a high amount of prey?
I honestly hated that minigame (still do even after all these years), it was so dull, and I had to brute force a solution for each problem. But I did like the A.I. in charge of the simulation. If anything, that might explain my dislike for Calculus.
@@aurorerich yes! Basically to beat it all you had to do was double the prey to predator. So much fun
Hol-ee CRAP!
I buried this game in the deep recesses of my mind..

I could never freaking beat this as a kid. Clue finders always intrigued me but kinda scared me at the same time lol
'The Cluefinders': '7th Grade Adventures' would be the most perfect for 7th grade students everywhere.
And 8th grade too
Being from Peru, i didn´t know back in the day that the map the old guy uses was a map of the us, i always thought it was the map of the game lol
"That creptile has been used too much! And has disintegrated!"
"drat."
Should have listened to the Translator face/Translator fish regarding how many times I can transform a Cryptile (noted by number of corners clipped off every time I transformed)
10:58
I remember I struggle this the most as a kid
I just shuffle them until I get it right
This is it!!! I juat spent like 25 minutes trying to remember what this game was i loved this shit
Woah, I was 4 years old when I watched my big sis play this game! I really thought this whole game was a dream!
Lol I never got the joke about Owen's surf board washing up on shore next to Joni and Santiago.
Sully 1991 What Joke?
it's weird they only had socrates for 4th grade and then never had him on any other games
+VIOLYNCE He did get a cameo at the end of the Cluefinders Reading Adventure, if that counts for anything.
He makes a brief cameo at the end of the reading game, where the ClueFinders give him the amulet for him to bury.
Until reading adventure, I was always under the impression Socrates was the professor's dog.
Bring back Socrates! He is best dog
1:16 Captain island dead ahead! 1:26 Captain a tsunami 🌊 heading right for us! 2:41 and 3:48 It's gonna blow? LET'S GET OUTTA HERE!!!!!
I loved this game as a kid! The grandfather's voice is so familiar... I feel like he voiced someone in a cartoon or another game.
OH MY GOD I FINALLY FOUND IT I HAVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR YEARS!!!!
That scream around 20:43 apparently still scares me now like it did back then,
Poor Lab5, getting left behind while the island takes off...
Ever since my childhood I have played this. Good ole sweet memories!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Man the memories lol I'd play it if only for nostalgia
I love the tone of this game. It is all confused and mysterious but wonderful. Though I quit, this was my favorite game.
The Cryptile characters is Blanche from Tennessee Williams' "A Streetcar Named Desire" play.
I loved this game, even though the earthquakes scared the hell out of me.
The fish and underwater music always scared me.
i loved owen and leslie's relationship!
I LOVED THIS GAME
This was the equivalent of Tomb Raider for my tiny baby mind.
Yeeesss!!!
I thought I would understand the explanation of this one more now that I’m older. But I still don’t get it. Aliens?!
Those god damn aliens.
Scott Bartek Heeeey.. didn't I see your comment on The 7th Brother Part 1? Dammmnnn it's a small world!
What an epic learning adventure game ever.
It looks like Joni needs a new backpack
Why is there a gun
I never noticed the gun until now! I played this game back in like 2003!
I have been looking for this game for YEARS
The fish within the fish: 56:45 (this still gives me chills)
14:51 Hahaha, how did I miss this line when I was little? I always thought the Head Face was a stoic, serious guy. I never realized it was just an act! XD

God, Jody's stupid "wow" is such a meme.
The little jokes here and there are golden.
I loved this one and the 6th Grade one. It was so fun!
2:10 Oh thank goodness, Joni and Santiago are completely unharmed. But where are Leslie and Owen?
They’re stuck in a subterranean chamber
@@anthonymiller2032 You mean they're underground somewhere.

What Arrogance Makes You Believe That Your Fate Will Be Any Different?
I remember our teacher giving us this to play in 5th grade. I liked it so much that I played it up to an 8th grade level and my teacher was SHOCKED.
cooool! played this a lot :) where can I download the music/tracks? Anyone knows?
I couldn’t read when I played this in like 1st grade and couldnt put the kriptiles in the right order so I would just try every combination until I got it right LOL
What does "sorlax" mean?
Approximately 50 Earth years
Joni and Santiago enter the island-spaceship in their scuba gear, but somehow reappear with Owen and Leslie with their regular clothes on.
I remember this game!
Dumb question: How do you save? I downloaded this game (and don't want to spoil it by watching the whole walkthrough), but it will not save my name when I exit. Is it supposed to be automatic saving?
You have to manually save it
Owen can always think about is food.
LOL
The best game series ever created~
So why didn't they change the format for these so kids can play these today? Why are these still on the older computer software versions?

I remember me and my sister played this game years ago
This guy is driving me nuts. >
Spencer Sinclair SAME
He's been doing stupid stuff with every game. Kinda ridiculous just how stupid some of the stuff is. There's really no excuse for it.
Are those mouse icons from Blood 1997?
Yup.

Why is there a little gun in the middle of the video? Is it some sort of copyright watermark or is it part of the game!!

I remember feeling really dumb playing this game but I was in the 3rd grade and it was for my older sister XD
