"I'm still getting over having lost her poor sweet mother...if I lose her too I don't know how I can go on..." They just HAD to add that part, didn't they? ;_;
I can listen to this song over & over & over & over & over & over & over & over again ! i konw every word. ohh its beautiful. their voices are beautiful !
i cant find the version that Triton says "How could i have pushed her to the point of having no one left to turn to. What if i have lost her and its all my fault she's gone" :((
I just saw the show on Saturday and totally loved it!! This is one of my favorite songs/scenes. I didn't get to see Sierra on Saturday which was sad, but Sean was there and man is he adorable and totally amazing!! The girl who did play Ariel was very good though. I just wish it would have been Sierra instead.
I prefer ariels line of 'then my shackles will be broken, not a word would need be spoken' rather than the Broadway version 'then the silence would be broken, not a word would need be spoken'. This version works so much better.
There is just something about this song I can’t find in anything else it’s so well balanced and captivating I always come back to it and get goosebumps
Back my junior year of high school, we had a final choir performance called 'Live' and 4 students did this song. I got to watch them do it before I had to go join the others. This song reminds me of those choir memories, I really miss it.
Tbh, most quartets I heard before this sounded like a mess, but this is an absolute MASTERPIECE♥️♥️ hits me every time😭😭 Bless you for uploading this for those who could not see in broadway, such a gift to hear✨✨
i love this song so much me and a few people are doing it for a broadway caberet and it;s sounds good. i was nervous at first because it's a hard song to live up to with all these voices from broadway but we have four of the best voices and we hope it does the song justice. the show is incredible. Disney's broadway shows are good but The Little Mermade is so much different than some others.
No, there are probably two versions of lyrics. I noticed it when I was listening to soundtrack and then to videos from the show. It was same with Beauty and the Beast, there are also some words different in clips from show and official soundtrack.
They should've done triton's lyrics like this: How could I have pushed her to the point of having no one else to turn to? Two whole days have passed and I'm still questioning, "How long must this go on?" I'm still getting over having lost her poor sweet mother. What if I have lost her and it's all my fault she's gone?!!
@TDRdr Oh my God you don't know how happy I was to see this as the top rated comment, that part is my favorite part in the whole song. I think this musical is even better than the movie, I didn't realize sebastian cared so deeply for ariel!
I'm so jealous! that was before the weird tail thing too though... woah. Triton looks really weird... anyhoos, please don't go all amnesiac and forget it, cuz it looks un-believable
at first i did not like sierra at all because of the tony's. but now she fits ariel like a glove. and i cry everytime sabastian sings his part...its so touching. they're all awesome
i agree i saw this last saturday, and while his voice is AMAZING, his acting was less than desired, but over all, hes a cool guy, i met him after the show :D
@IAMWillemL I put my reply about the european comment ^_^ I dont live in the states so i dont mind what happens over there, I wanna see it in Europe/UK at the West End in London haha
Yeah I saw him in it a view weeks ago. I didn't think his part allowed for much acting the only thing he did was well for ariel. watch legally brown the search for the next piragua guy he is HILARIOUS in that!
Sierra Boggess's voice sounds really deep in this or is that the audio quality of this video? Either way, she sings beautifully, but I feel like a deep voice is out of character for Ariel. I noticed there were a few lyric changes, too. I like Triton's lyrics here than the final version on the soundtrack.
This is one of the best songs that Alan Menken has written.
sis, this is the best song alan menken has ever written
Yep!!!!!!
My favorite track from the show.
AGH the resonance in Eric’s (Sean Palmer’s) voice kills me each time I listen to this song 🥹
How I wish that girl could have been this OOOONNNNNEEEEEE!!!!!! Wow! The way he belts out that note! Well done Sean Palmer!
Absolutely one of my favorite notes in musical Theater lol
"I'd give my life up
To make it happen"
4:30
I love that part, so heart warming
"I'm still getting over having lost her poor sweet mother...if I lose her too I don't know how I can go on..."
They just HAD to add that part, didn't they? ;_;
CJCroen1393 yup. From what I’ve seen they get pretty laisez faire with the lyrics depending on which production it is
“What if I have lost her and it’s all my fault she’s gone?”
ugh! that last " if only " that Prince eric sings , just gets me...
Sierra Boggess and Norm Lewis have amazing amazing amazing voices I can't
They were in Phantom together on Broadway also.
"I give my life up to make it happend..." That parts always touched my heart.
this cast is just so amazing. I LOVE Ariel and Triton's voice. Norm Lewis. Oh man. Titus Burggess was amazing as well!
"If only you would notice How I ache behind my smile", that's just how i feel sometimes about "that" guy :(
oh my god this brought me to tears
my favorite song from this musical.
it's so beautiful!
I can listen to this song over & over & over & over & over & over & over & over again !
i konw every word.
ohh its beautiful. their voices are beautiful !
this song is just..wow. such much emotion. its amazing! and norm lewis,,his voice!! ahh! and of course sierra! :D
me too...its my favorite part, for me its the most heartbreaking part of this wonderful song...and the blending of voices is just perfect
i cant find the version that Triton says "How could i have pushed her to the point of having no one left to turn to. What if i have lost her and its all my fault she's gone" :((
😢😢😢😢

Prince Eric...... *swoons* His voice is so enchanting!
Love Love Love Love So beautiful. Sierra and Sean are incredible together
I luv that triton is black!! it's great and his voice is amazing!!
Oh please let’s give Emmanuel Kojo as Triton (He needs another chance) on the West End if the production gets a chance
I prefer ariels line of 'then my shackles will be broken, not a word would need be spoken' rather than the Broadway version 'then the silence would be broken, not a word would need be spoken'. This version works so much better.
This song, and She's In Love are the best NEW songs of the show. This song was one of the many times I cried during it lmao. I'm such a girl lol.
I LOVE THIS SONG. Makes me cry every time.
There is just something about this song I can’t find in anything else it’s so well balanced and captivating I always come back to it and get goosebumps
this is my favorite song. i literally play it again and again with my ipod :)
I love this song, this is beautiful 🙏💚
i love this song i was singing it all the way through my test
I Love this song... It makes my heart ache.
love this song, thanks for posting
This is the best song. It is amazing.
such a beautiful song!!! *goosebumps* Thanks for posting!
This is amazing. It almost reminds me of Les Miserables!
This song is really personal to me. I feel like I could be Ariel.
Doing this for my end of the year concert, i get to be Sebastian, totally epic falsetto through-out, so excited.
i love this song!!
woooow. such a beautiful song. little mermaid was one of my favorites when I was a kid so this makes me really happy.
Back my junior year of high school, we had a final choir performance called 'Live' and 4 students did this song. I got to watch them do it before I had to go join the others. This song reminds me of those choir memories, I really miss it.
My junior year of high school, some of the students in my choir class did this song and it made me tear up.
i saw it on braodway with the oringal cast!! amazingggg
Tbh, most quartets I heard before this sounded like a mess, but this is an absolute MASTERPIECE♥️♥️ hits me every time😭😭 Bless you for uploading this for those who could not see in broadway, such a gift to hear✨✨
GIVES ME CHILLS EVERYTIME!!!!
I just finished playing in the pit for this show, and this song makes me emotional!
Because they are taking it on the road!! :D
I cry every time I hear this song.
i love this song so much me and a few people are doing it for a broadway caberet and it;s sounds good. i was nervous at first because it's a hard song to live up to with all these voices from broadway but we have four of the best voices and we hope it does the song justice. the show is incredible. Disney's broadway shows are good but The Little Mermade is so much different than some others.
chills are running up my spine, wow
I just love Alan Menken's songwriting, i'm glad we all got a chance to hear all these new songs from him thanks to Disney on Broadway.
No, there are probably two versions of lyrics. I noticed it when I was listening to soundtrack and then to videos from the show. It was same with Beauty and the Beast, there are also some words different in clips from show and official soundtrack.
They should've done triton's lyrics like this:
How could I have pushed her to the point of having no one else to turn to?
Two whole days have passed and I'm still questioning, "How long must this go on?"
I'm still getting over having lost her poor sweet mother.
What if I have lost her and it's all my fault she's gone?!!
They should’ve did this song in the new movie!!!
RIGHT??? I wanna hear Halle sing it so bad 😭😭😭
I saw the show on broadway. AMAZING! Did someone secretly tape this in the theatre? Lol!
I love this song!
Is this from a Broadway showing or from when it was in Denver???
@TDRdr Oh my God you don't know how happy I was to see this as the top rated comment, that part is my favorite part in the whole song. I think this musical is even better than the movie, I didn't realize sebastian cared so deeply for ariel!
they all love so much...it makes you want to cry
I love this song!!!
i love this video
love this song!!!😭😭😭😭😀😀😀😀😀
This song is where the expression, "so close, but so far," comes from
This is exactly how I feel. I can't tell the guy I love how I feel either.
I'm so jealous! that was before the weird tail thing too though... woah. Triton looks really weird... anyhoos, please don't go all amnesiac and forget it, cuz it looks un-believable
I love this Song
@IAMWillemL Wish that they would do that here in the US
They still usually have radio microphones, live or not, to be heard over the orchestra, but yeah I can't see them either
I so wanted to see this.... :(
She's is the lead of Rock of Ages as of the moment..i think she recorded some songs for this musical
@IAMWillemL omg omg omg!! Where did you find this out!??
I think the Denver version sounds better than the actual Broadway version.
Color blind casting... gotta luv it :)
at first i did not like sierra at all because of the tony's. but now she fits ariel like a glove. and i cry everytime sabastian sings his part...its so touching. they're all awesome
I'm saying that because his part is so miniscul he deserves to have a much bigger part and this show doesn't allow for people to see him
i agree i saw this last saturday, and while his voice is AMAZING, his acting was less than desired, but over all, hes a cool guy, i met him after the show :D
Is that Sierra Boogess?
Rachel Tay yes it is
@TDRdr me too,,its my favorite part
Is that Sean Palmer as Eric?
does anybody have the sheet music of this song?
Yes it's her thinking, but she has to sing since we're not mind readers lol
I’m bawling in the club fuck
can i have Norm Lewis's voice? please?
Just how I want a man; musical, fencing shirted, and a hopeless romantic sap. xD
@IAMWillemL I put my reply about the european comment ^_^ I dont live in the states so i dont mind what happens over there, I wanna see it in Europe/UK at the West End in London haha
Yeahhh... I'm glad they changed King Triton's part; its just a bit too dramatic...
wish Triton s part was like this on the cd
@2cool4u1219 it's almost like a soliloquy she's thinking to herself-but out loud.
lucky! where'd you find it?
sierra is ariel ❤
google is the place for lyrics, my good friend (If Only (Quartet))
Yeah I saw him in it a view weeks ago. I didn't think his part allowed for much acting the only thing he did was well for ariel. watch legally brown the search for the next piragua guy he is HILARIOUS in that!
Sean Palmer...marry me.
:)
Ain't nobody like Sean Palmer. I saw the version of this song with his understudy, and it was definitely lacking something.
They remind me of the demo version.
This isn’t the original is it ?
But if I never find a way to tell you so...
gee u sure are confident in her abilities aren't u Sebastian? *heavy sarcasm*
it says denver but this the broadway
where are the microphones?:D
this song has rounds in it right?
jwrocks not really, just overlap
@twilighter3000 weird tail?
yes! i think bret shuford will never be a better eric!
