Oh. My. Gosh I can't believe how naïve I am. This video was sadly so eye-opening to me. Fricken screw the hate and embrace people! Beautiful work Raya. "Everyone has a heart"
I can only speak for myself and my experiences but I am a Muslim who has never been forced to wear anything I don't want to. But then again I know Muslim women who have been (usually as young teens, their parents leave them once they become adults) but its good to see you showing that we aren't just one big group that can be painted with the same brush. You are a Christian and so is Trump, am I going to compare your morals and lifestyle to him? No? Then why do people do it with Muslims, it is by far the most frustrating thing as a Muslim. Even my own blood sister I am far different from let alone another Muslim down the street or in another country. We are individuals!
I am a Muslim girl I have grown up in a Muslim country and been in many Muslim countries, There are many women like me or Haifa, but there are others that they are different. The difference is not the bad thing but it is cool to know the differences.
I m muslim too ... The difference is amazing.. Even sisters and brothers friends can be differet .. My parents are different .. The must important thing is to accept the difference.. I have so much love and peace for every person in the world..love you all
I was never told to wear the hijab, none of my friends and family were, yet I wear it with love, Pride and passion. There are people who are oppressed in islam just like there are people who are forced to do things they dont want to do in other countries and religions. Its not a matter of religion. Its simply what you choose to accept as normal and what you choose to define as "oppressed"
This is a really great video Raya ! Great questions asked ! Well done for making a video that sheds positivity on Muslims. Especially seeing as we are in a time in which the norm is to make Muslims look bad and pin the blame on them.
This is so empowering and needs to be seen by everyone! You are so kind and open to love and everyone should be more like that! You are such an inspiration! I feel so blessed to live in world of so much diversity and culture, yet it is constantly overshadowed by hate. We forget that we are all humans. 💙💜
I studied international relations in University and so many of my friends were Muslims. They were also some of the nicest and caring humans. I also completely agree re: the oppression thing.
I think this is a really good video and while you did point out that this was Haifas experience only I'm unsure of how this alone is a beneficial video for exploring the stereotypes around female muslims. Maybe you could consider speaking to different muslim women (assuming you know any and that they would be willing to :) ) to broaden the subject? While I think spreading positivity is generally a great thing, it seems to me that there still are problems with Islam, especially in regards to women and I think it's important to not gloss over these. You two seem like very lovely people, thank you for making the video!
Hey there👋🏼 I’m Muslim, and I agree with what Haifa said and I believe that the majority of Muslim women would agree too. You know the problem here isn’t the religion, but the culture. People in some countries get these two things mixed together and sometimes can’t even differentiate them from each other. So I won’t deny that there are problems within the Muslim communities, but I want you to know that it’s a cultural thing and not religious.
sabreena Isso Thank you for your answer. I realize that those aren't the same things but it seems to me that this is a difficult separation to make when discussing anything to to with the subject because they are intertwined at some level. That's why I think talking to different muslim women (who have grown up in different countries, cities, families so different cultures) might be cool. But you're right I definitely should have specified and said that the problems with Islam are not necessarily problems of the religion but might concern some laws in islamic countries.
I have a question though if you have the time to answer it :) I've heard that the quoran states that women are inferior to men. Is that true? And if it is stated that way how do women interpret this part? Sorry if this is totally untrue but I'm really curious!
But isn't the point that you get shown that side of Muslim women literally ALL the time? How often do you see a video portraying Muslims in a good light?
Maays I think what is rare are personal accounts by muslim women, at least in the media that is familiar to me, which is why I think this is a good video. My thought was that this is only one personal account and that I would be interested in seeing more content portraying different women of muslim faith.
Yay more Haifa and Raya, so much love for this video. Travel opens your eyes to the world and makes you a better person. My dream is to visit Egypt no matter what the news or anyone else says.🌍✌❤🦅
Also, I don't really talk about religion or my religious beliefs but I guess I identify with Sufism (Rumi!) And I'm only concerned with the mystical part of Islam. I date, I dress the way I want...in every religion or on every path there is a wide spectrum. We all have different ideas, interpretations & experiences. There's diversity in Islam just as there is in any other religion or way of life. The only important thing is that you make sure that your path, whatever it may be, leads to love & unity. Not hate & division. 💕💞
Raya I'm an Australian Muslim woman living in Sofia, Bulgaria!! Omg I feel so awkward here and out of place, I love this country ALOT 🇧🇬and have been here for 2 years, But omg I get sooo much stares😭 I honestly was not expecting this because in Sydney I don't get this type of reaction from people around me. I thought Bulgaria has a quite a bit of Muslims since it's the closest European country to the Middle East. I would love some tips and would love to meet if you ever came back to Bulgaria!!
Hey! I think it's difficult in Bulgaria because until just over 20 years ago it was a communist country and people couldn't come in or go out. Because of that in my experience many Bulgarians (especially the older generations) just don't have experience with people from different cultures and are curious about them. It's only getting better though, as more and more people travel to Bulgaria and as Bulgarians continue to travel themselves. That's why I'm the biggest advocate for travel, its the best way to open your mind and heart! I'd love to meet you next time I'm in Bulgaria, sending you lots of love! 💕
RayaWasHere thank you for your advice 💜yes that's good point I didn't consider. It just becomes hard sometimes living so far away from family. I guess there's ups and downs to living overseas and travelling in general. Bulgaria was the first place I ever saw snow and I was blown away❄️❄️ and likewise the summer is so beautiful here! You should talk more about your home country in your videos, I think people will love it ❤️
Ilham lulu I hope you are enjoying Bulgaria and welcome! I grew up in Bulgaria and one of the reasons people tend to stare is because until 130-140 years ago Bulgaria was occupied by the Ottoman Empire for 500 years and Bulgarians still have bitterness against them... Trust me, there is nothing personal 😍
Thank you for being a constant light in this world that can sometimes be harsh! Videos like this will make such a difference in the lives of many! 💛 love from NY.
Love this video so much! Thank you so much for making this video and taking the time to expose us to a culture so very different from the U.S. I wouldn’t consider myself a stereotypical individual or racist by any means but in no way do I claim to know everything or to be better and so I genuinely appreciated being able to learn from your guest interview. Love how your videos expose and open my eyes to societies so different and beautiful from the one I grew up in. :)
Wow that was amazing Raya . You and Haifa are so beautiful inside and out . I loved the video so much and you chose the right person who spoke for all of us ❤❤❤ love you and #HakunaMatataaa
Raya, you're amazing. I think your channel is very special, and I really mean it. This is unlike any other youtuber. I can't put to words how much I enjoy your videos. Thank you for bringing us such a huge variety of people, places, food, etc etc. I'm very grateful. Tbh watching your videos is almost like travelling (with you).
US media..take note please. Raya, you are angelic. As if we need any more reason to watch your content, along comes this. How lovely is Haifa! : Bless you for making this video :)
It’s good to know each other rather than listening misconceptions and lies from the media thanks Raya and Louis for giving us this positive platform to present our side of the story
What a fascinating video. So insightful and interesting. Great video, I am completely loving how your channel is growing and evolving. Keep it up! I am so inspired by you.
It would be great to also interview the many muslim women who ARE oppressed by men and are forced to wear their head scarf by family/men/etc... Probably harder to get that interview, but still very important to share and highlight the tragic treatment still going in 2018. :)
I would love to be able to share interviews with people from all over the world living in all different ways, hopefully I will be able to keep sharing people's stories 😊
Rana Y Is there any woman who forced to wear the hijab/jilbab/scarf?? Because...as far as i know hijab is a must for a muslim woman...it is our identity, to protect us of unnecessary gaze/attention. I use it because someday i was dreaming about the end of the day, the judgement day...i was scared to death...i thought i dont have time anymore...though my mother in law told me that i didnt have to wear hijab because i might look older than my real age or ugly...i dont care, i still use it anyway...and i'm soooo much happy than before, all praise to the Lord alhamdulillah... 😊😊😊
Agreed with rana. Many still face opression and have to undergo fgm, or in Malalas case get shot in the head for trying to persue in an education. We can't assume that all of them are lucky like this girl Haifa, one girls way of life doesn't reflect everybodies.
I love this type of content you're creating. The media is so fear-mongering and we need more exposure to real people and their experiences to help break down that fear.
Loved this video - I would love you to do another of these and talk more about Islam and feminism and how they fit together based on specific aspects of the faith/parts of the Koran that are often seen as promoting violence toward or oppression of women. Would be a heavier one but really interesting! x
Wow my mind is blown in so many ways. She radiates such a lovely light!!!!!!! I can watch her talk for hours!!!!! She's so beautiful!!!! And her soul radiates so deeply!!!!!!!
omg i want to do a trip w you two, i seriously love this. Haifa is so amazing!!! getting such nostalgic travel vibes watching you girls, these are the best kinds of talks
Sorry for my previous comments I realised I was being a bit of a dick. I shouldn't have directed my frustrations at you when all you wanted to do was spread a bit of positivity and love. I really love your videos I hope to become as positive as you are in the future.

"maybe theres be a girl in village idk who got forced maybe.. but general situation, me and my friends, choose" of course there is! there is so many! and not just in villages, my cousin who lives in TEXAS, USA was set up with a partner in Lebanon (AND the girl was 17). It's still happening here in the states too.
I don't want to belittle the stories of these women in any way, the thing is that we hear of these stories all the time. I'm middle-eastern American and it makes me so sad that it's 2018 and women are still living in fear in certain countries and even here in the states sometimes, unable to be truly free. I wish we could do more.
It's so nice to see this video! Too many are willing to believe the craziness they see on tv. I have several Muslim friends and they're just like anyone else. Some of the nicest people I know! Haifa is gorgeous and I love her style!
Salam l'am a Muslim girl and for People how want to know about Islam should talk with Muslim people and not to listen to what they said on TV there are a lot of thing to correct about Islam the most important that we are not terrorists and we live a happy life (excuse me for writing mistakes because English is not my native language) peace love and a lot of respect from the bottom of my heart for everyone
absolutely i agree with Haifa cuz our religion wich is ISLEM gives us freedom of choice in the end, this is between you and your Creator (GOD) i just hate when people judge the Muslims and describe them Closed mind and give us a terrible picture on TV and show that the Muslims people are so aggressive and Give us the name of terrorists they are absolutely not a MUSLIMS cuz in our religion killing someone is forbidden as we say Harram well i guess that's all by the way i love u Raya and i wish that one day u'll visite our country Algeria it's beautiful country .
Hey Raya! thanks for doing this. Whenever I travel and meet people and somehow the topic comes up people get super shocked about my religion; they start asking me the most uncomfortable questions that I usually don't like to get into but have to just to fix this misconception.
Raya I know you said there is unwanted attention to all females from males getting whistled at or getting cat called no matter what u wear but I swear to you when my mom and I were in new York by ourselves without my dad and i not even joking everyone and yes I do mean everyone we talked to were nice to us and we didn't get cat called or unwanted attention of whistling at us at any point while we were there. At that time guess we were just lucky
I am so happy that Haifa has talked about so much good things about us muslim women. May Allah reward you for always spreading positivity
Farhana Oberson rafiki😊
Get this straight. There is no evidence of any Allah for gods sake.

How about a video of non muslim women who ARE forced to wear skimpy clothes to impress men? Too many?
It is a great thing to do. Maybe you can find locals when you go to different countries

This is amazing ! "We need to talk" is such a beautiful idea ! We can't wait for more ! Thanku you !
I love this type of content you're creating. The media is so fear-mongering and we need more exposure to real people and their experiences to help break down that fear.

Sorry for my previous comments I realised I was being a bit of a dick. I shouldn't have directed my frustrations at you when all you wanted to do was spread a bit of positivity and love. I really love your videos I hope to become as positive as you are in the future.
❤️❤️
Love this❤ I can't wait for more videos from this series ✨🙌🏻 Thank you Raya!🌈🌈
I really enjoyed watching this video. It’s amazing. Thank you Raya! ❤️
I follow you both and I’m so happy you guys collaborated!
Wow such a powerful message, so much love and support
Thank you Raya and Haifa for such a realistic video.
At uni this year I made my 1st friend from a majority Muslim country (obviously a different experience to being a Muslim in the UK) and I was horrified by the snap judgements people were making about him, his country and the way they treat women, so even though this is 1 persons experience, it is so important to show people that most Muslims don't lead lives the way the media portrays!
LOVE this ladies!!!! Spread the Love and Joy Be with YOU!!
I love this! If you are ever in America (DC area) and would like to have a Muslim woman's experience growing up in America, I am here! I would love to share my experience, especially as a half black half indian Muslim girl.
Thank you Nadia! 😊💕
This is such an amazing video. So relevant to all the crap that’s being spread by the media. Spread the positivity ❤️
It’s great the way you send such positive messages with all of your videos. You’re really inspiring!😊

More LOVE and TOLERENCE, less hate and prejudice ❤️
This world needs.
I love this!
Omg Raya + Haifa = ❤❤❤❤
This collab has been a long time coming! 😍
RayaWasHere you know what, I've been waiting for this for months 😂 you both are my fav travel vloggers. I am a muslim too. Since you posted a pic on instagram (I believe it's your visit to Grand Syaikh Zayed Mosque), I was like, 'Bam! Raya and Haifa should do a collab, talking about the truth of Muslim women or Islam in general.' And this video is uploaded :""") You guys are really really amazing! 😍
Wow i like you and Louis you guys are the best UA-camrs who always talk positive whenever you go
This is amazing Raya and Haifa! Keep on spreading positivity and erasing stereotypes!
We need more messages like this one to be shared
"maybe theres be a girl in village idk who got forced maybe.. but general situation, me and my friends, choose" of course there is! there is so many! and not just in villages, my cousin who lives in TEXAS, USA was set up with a partner in Lebanon (AND the girl was 17). It's still happening here in the states too.
I don't want to belittle the stories of these women in any way, the thing is that we hear of these stories all the time. I wanted to share a view that isn't often shared at all and to give a different perspective. Women are being mistreated in all countries and practicing all religions, I just want people to know that there is so much more out there than what we are told 💕
Totally understand. I know it's hard to show the entire range and you're just doing what you feel like is right. I live in one of the most diverse cities in America (our University is soo extremely diverse), so me and the hundreds of thousands around here are pretty used to seeing a variety of younger middle-eastern women (different values, beliefs, dress, family structure, etc). For me personally, I feel like we don't highlight enough the unfair treatment of women still going on in the culture. I'm middle-eastern American and it makes me so sad that it's 2018 and women are still living in fear in certain countries and even here in the states sometimes, unable to be truly free. Loveed this!

It's so nice to see this video! Too many are willing to believe the craziness they see on tv. I have several Muslim friends and they're just like anyone else. Some of the nicest people I know! Haifa is gorgeous and I love her style!
Nice talk, thank you Raya. You both are beautiful inside and out.
I cried during the part where she talks about praying 5 times a day.. praying all together and hugging each other.. ahh.
Yes Raya!! You're on fire girl!
Thank you! I've been working so hard to get 2 videos out per week for you guys, I'm so happy I've been able to do it so far!
I'm so proud and happy to see such good content from you! Keep going
Haifa you are absolutely STUNNING like your beauty is breathtaking 😍
Such an interesting video! Thanks for sharing!
This was inspiring. Thank you for sharing this.
This is so good❤
I am from fly with Haifa, this is a great video, powerful video 💙🌸
Thank you! and welcome to the family! :)
The funny thing is.... in Indonesia many hijabers even pressing to who do not use it.
All love from Philippines 🇵🇭💖💖💖
absolutely i agree with Haifa cuz our religion wich is ISLEM gives us freedom of choice in the end, this is between you and your Creator (GOD) i just hate when people judge the Muslims and describe them Closed mind and give us a terrible picture on TV and show that the Muslims people are so aggressive and Give us the name of terrorists they are absolutely not a MUSLIMS cuz in our religion killing someone is forbidden as we say Harram well i guess that's all by the way i love u Raya and i wish that one day u'll visite our country Algeria it's beautiful country .
You are both so gorgeous I just can't stop staring in awe 😍
Awesome video and great questions
Omg I love this so much
Raya was disappointed when Haifa said she didn't have bad experiences in US. I guess we all need to hate something
So much love for both of you 🌸💖
Loved this
This is so beautiful
Love you Raya and Haifa 💓💓💓
Its nice that in Dubai has that beach party. I wish we had that too in Indonesia
I love you miss RAYA😍
We love hifa ❤️
Hey Raya! thanks for doing this. Whenever I travel and meet people and somehow the topic comes up people get super shocked about my religion; they start asking me the most uncomfortable questions that I usually don't like to get into but have to just to fix this misconception.
such beautiful women and souls 💕
Indonesian muslim people are very different from those in middle eastern countries. This is misleading.
You both just look beautiful :)
Awesome 👏 thankk you..
