- I needed a new full sized tent but like tents that are unique. I saw the Guide Gear Teepee over the holidays and decided to give one a try. For the most part, I really like this tent and would gladly buy it again. The few things I mention in the review are not anywhere near ruling it out as a viable option. The tent also has 10 ft and 18 ft versions. The 14 ft version was just the right size for me.
I plan on heating a Teepee like this with a diesel heater and blowing hot dry air in through a vent from the outside. It gets about -25F here. I have a different cabin tent with dual layer full rainfly for summer, most of the time it has a shade screen thrown over it instead of a rainfly. It just gets too hot 104F for a Teepee in the summer, I use the cabin tent to keep plastic stuff from melting, not enough trees or shade in the high semi-arid desert sometimes. The cabin tent works perfectly for what I got it for to shade my work in the summer but is impossible to heat in the winter because the whole thing is a vent. I need a Teepee winter because the snow gets deep in the high desert. If I want to get some work done I got to stay a few days I can bring some hot dry air. I still bring my -20F stuff if it fails.
Thanks for your review. I got the 18x18
I'd love to have the big one too but don't always have the room for it. I hope you have lots of fun....😊
Great Video!
Thanks XPG. The tent was pretty cool..... Especially when it got down to 25 degrees....🤣
Thanks for the video.
but you do not need a heater in a tent, just use two sleeping bags at once.

@Theodore Jayden Happy to help :D
I think you flip the light hook over the top of the pole where the poles go together.
I think you accident flipped it over to the other side.
Or they made it messed up , ahahahah
Maybe they made it so nobody will hook themselves on the hook , for safety.
How long does it take to set up and take down?
Great review. I think they put your hang hook backwards because after watching your review I checked mine and it was the other direction.
I'm glad you told me that cause it bugged me that they'd intentionally do that. Just bad QC....now that bugs me....LOL...
The hook maybe that way so you don't snag on it
On the 14 x 14 do you think I would have enough room ~ I have the XXL Teton cot which is the size of a twin size bed do you think that would fit with this size of tent because it is the true size of a twin size bed thank you 😊.
I was on a twin sized inflatable and had no problem. A queen would have been tight. Since you're on a cot, you may have to be closer to the center pole due to the roof slope...
Thank you 😊
How is it in the rain? I'm thinking about getting this for my wife, and she's a city girl. Haha
Haven't used it in the rain yet. Only had two days off in 11 weeks so not much camping this year. I always use Scotch Guard on a new tent so rain generally isn't an issue for me. It looks like there is good overhang so I think it will be fine...
