COLLEGE DECISION REACTION 2021!! 10+ schools
Вставка
- Опубліковано 8 лют 2025
- I applied to 11 schools this year as a Chemical Engineering major. Watch me die a little more inside with every decision :)) Also bonus if you can keep track of how many times my hair changes color...or the amount of times I struggle with the stupid application portals
But for real,, this application season was really rough for a lot of people, and I'm incredibly grateful for my results. Here's to a brighter 2021, no matter what happens.
If you're new here, I also do SAT and geology stuff on this channel--go check it out and sub for more! XD

A 1600 is not enough to get in to some of those schools just sounds so absurd. I know the application is more that just your SAT score but that's just wow
Did they reject her with a 1600 sat?
@@Rekklesstraze ye
That's the point, they do not take people with perfect scores, it's about having a passion. People getting admitted have either started their own business, or are really good at sports, or have started their own clubs and have been team leaders for something. So ideally you manage to have a life, are an over- archiver and have perfect grades on top of it.
They aren't looking for perfect scores. They are looking for interesting people who fit the composition of their incoming Freshmen class.
@@inspiregaia Why Stanford?
Tbh I’ve never seen MIT in person so we can’t really be sure it even exists.
@@inexp1 now I realise. Thank you for getting the truth out to the public
@@yashprajapati70 Lmao thx
out of all the college decision videos, I've never seen anybody accepted into MIT
@@factidraw I've seen one
Ive seen it. Can confirm its just a black void
at the end of the day you still got into the TOP 3 public universities IN THE COUNTRY!!!! congrats on all your success :)
See Anna's smart. She rejects Harvard before they even got a single chance to reject her.
200th like❤
“That’s good, because that means you did everything you could.” Wise words from your mum ❤️
Oh my goodness honey, you are amazing. I don't know what these schools are looking for, but it's absolutely their loss. I'm a 47 year-old woman with a Mechanical Engineering degree and as soon as you got in to Purdue and UMich I was content. Those were the ones I would have considered most highly...the scholarship was just the icing on the cake. I found your videos while looking for SAT content for my daughter but decided to watch this one as well.
I am honestly disgusted that a 1600, great student with active extracurrics isn't even worthy of a waitlist these days. I already told my daughter that we're not playing the game. Go to the school that gives you the honors college and the full scholarship and don't worry about the admissions game.
Aaw thank you so much! Honestly I think getting rejected from a lot of those schools was a blessing in disguise since I'm thriving at UMich so far, and now I don't have to worry about being hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt when I graduate! For sure tell your daughter not to worry too much about the admissions game, because everything will work out no matter where she ends up :)
@@annas-universe yeah don’t worry those top colleges are garbage and overrated, you could go to any good college and you learn the same thing the difference is the name but Umich is way better then those top colleges plus you got really good scholarships so that’s amazing good job
@@annas-universe yooo Umich is a good college I want to go there too my dad went there as well but i doubt they will accept me lol
congrats!! please continue posting SAT reading section walkthrough and other sections too because i find it REALLY REALLY helpful and i’m sure other people agree too!! thank you for all your help! 🤍
Yessss I've got the next part in the works :D
I just love how calm she is when the top schools rejected her. Wish i could dig that.
CONGRATS ANNA!! I've literally watched all your videos and they honestly helped a bunch. You honestly seem like such a fun person, and you're smart on top of it, I hope everything goes well for you in the future.
Wow I saw your face and recognized you right away. You are the girl who gives tips and who got a 1600 SAT right ?
Ahhh wow! yee I am :D
that intro gave me so much nostalgia, regular show was the best cartoon
YESSS :D
Good luck in the future! I hope you know you've helped so many people.
I love how you break down the reality of college applications and being rejected could be random!
You do you girl - MIT undergrad isn't worth the $$ (from 90% of MIT grads I know)...get your Masters at MIT instead :-) Congratulations on all of your success and acceptances - Go Blue!
Anna, I know i'm late, but all the schools who rejected you are SERIOUSLY missing out. Firstly, MIT students don't even exist. they're basically illusions at this point, or maybe robot. So at least you're not among those scary people. You truly seem like the type of person who shines wherever you go. Though I could literally feel the disappointment through my screen, and I KNOW how difficult rejection is, I wanted to say that not getting in somewhere doesn't mean you aren't just, or even more intelligent and incredible than whoever was admitted. I really hope you're doing well :))) I'm applying for uni this year/next year, and I'm so stressed too. but I'll try to stay as graceful as you are
Aaw thank you so much!! I've been doing really well lately and am absolutely *thriving* at umich, so it ended up totally fine and prolly even better than if I'd gotten admitted (at least now I'm not in debt)! XD Good luck with your applications, and remember that it'll all work out in the end no matter what
Hey Anna! Just found out about your channel yesterday (while looking for SAT last minute tip videos bc I took an SAT today lol) but you seem like such a inspiring and friendly person :D Congrats on all acceptances and keep making great videos!! :)
when she shouts "yay" it just makes me so happy in the inside
Love the little sounds between the schools, and you are going to do great! College is not the end!
Go anna! Just found out of your channel and your videos helped me a lot. No matter what college you get into i'm pretty sure you're going to do just fine.
wow anna this is incredible. i remember when you were a freshman teaching rocks and minerals i never expected you to be here at this point. congrats
Aaah tysm Charlie!! I remember those days...good times :))) Rocks and minerals may or may not be the inspo behind all the geology content on this channel
@@annas-universe i haven't looked at all of your videos yet but the only reason i ended up doing study events was because of how much fun rocks was with you. also the only reason i did fossils the next year was because i thought you were going to be the coach but i actually ended up really enjoying it even though u weren't the coach.
AAAW that's rlly sweet. I'm so glad it was so fun! :D
your reactions are so cute 😭💗 congrats on all your acceptances, you deserve it!! :)
That U of M reaction was so wholesome
@Katie Ellen Tu tell me you go to a bad college w/o telling me you go to a bad college
I've watched a couple of your videos and you seem like a great person, the colleges who passed on you made a big mistake honestly and those who accepted you are the only smart ones.
I'm trying to get into my dream school here in Pakistan and the pressure is so much, it's completely stressing me out, I am very afraid that I won't get in as so many applicants apply
You will, Just believe and don't stop praying and working hard+Smart
I know you can do it! If you ever feel overwhelmed by college stuff, take some deep breaths and remember that where you go to school isn't the endgame--it's what got you to this point (hard work...dedication...passion) that will truly help you in life :)
Watching this was an emotional roller coaster 🎢😂. Congratulations 👏
Hahaha, love The Sound of Silence and Mad World on the recorder. Just to make folks aware, the target schools you listed are reaches, unless you’re instate. Even then, still reaches.
Proud of you honestly!
You bagged the scholarship
How good you are at what you do honestly literally matters more than what college you went to these days. And you’ve got both tbf you’ll probs do good and you’re in a good uni!!❤️
YESS IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ONE
You are like the sweetest person on the internet !
Thank u!

EXACTLY XD
YOU GO ANNA! You’ll do great wherever you go!!
i've been waiting for this omg!! congrats!!
You're such a cutie and have an amazing attitude! Love your parents as well!
Honestly, it was for the better you didn't have to make the tough choice between a "Dream school" with thousands of dollars of debt and a "Safety School" with a very good scholarship. The decision was made for you. For undergraduate degrees it isn't worth it to pay 100ks anyway.
You'll do great, be less stressed and maybe you'll do your master's at MIT :P Cheers to that!
Aaw thanks so much! I completely agree--I'm so glad I had such an easy decision haha
Hope you get through this year I hope that you get through it Stay safe with your family as well
Congratulations Anna and I am anxiously awaiting all your upcoming U Of M UA-cam Video! You are amazing.
Yay Anna! So excited to see you at UMich next year :))) Also LOVE the blazer you wore to open caltech 🥰

Hey! Apply to harvard, maybe you can shift there in fall or sm, it's worth trying! You have the best application!!! Don't leave it because you just didn't apply!!!
Thanks--but, there's a reason I didn't apply in the first place (and besides, it's too late now) XD But don't worry! I'm more than happy about attending U of M this fall
This was so adorable! Congrats! 🎉

Got rejected from Stanford too. I did everything I could but I guess it was not good enough. Don't worry, we got this! ❤
Aaw I'm sorry--they don't deserve us anyway! XD Best of luck to you
so proud of you, you completely deserve it !!!
OMG I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS
Clicked on this because of the maroon and gold block M (literally no one on UA-cam seems to apply to Minnesota loll) and stayed because all your reactions were so wholesome! I’m a junior at UMN (kinda? I have three semesters left but just technically finished my sophomore year… yes I am still watching these videos three years after my own applications). I actually only applied to TWO colleges when I went through this process. Granted, I had been early accepted to one of the two the summer before my junior year of high school (didn’t end up going there oops sorry to them) so I already knew I was going to college. I also had some pretty stringent requirements. They had to have a genetics major and a marching band. I didn’t even consider them if they didn’t have those two things. I’ve never understood the people who apply to schools they wouldn’t be willing to go to. Why spend the money and time on applications when you’re about to dump so much of it onto your education the next four years anyways if you aren’t even planning on going there…? I was glad to see that you’d be willing to go to any of the schools you applied to and THANK YOU for being willing to show people that even with perfect test scores you can still get rejected! So much of college is unfair in that regard and unfortunately it doesn’t really get better the further in you get. Hard pill to swallow for a perfectionist like me. Best of luck at Michigan next year (even if I do secretly think you chose the wrong U of M haha) and make sure to have fun even if you feel like you need to be studying 24/7! From another STEM major, I promise you don’t need to! I’ve never pulled an all nighter, go to bed at 11 each night but quit school at 9 or 10, usually don’t do much homework on weekends and have been on the dean’s list every semester so far even with being in marching band and working a research job. Time management!! It also helps a lot to sleep in order to keep your sanity. It goes by so fast but it is so much fun!! I’ll have to keep up with your UA-cam to see all the awesome things you do! Good luck!!
Thank you so much for your kind comment! I agree that UMN is so underrated at least when it comes to UA-camr college decision reactions, haha. Thanks for the advice too--I've been trying to get better about NOT going to bed at 6am every night (morning?), and I'll be sure to balance school and fun. Congrats on finishing sophomore year--hopefully COVID will finally die down and make the next few years of college more fun for both of us!
Congratss!!! Thank you for your SAT tips too! :)
wow i wish i was in the position to not care abt UCLA lmao - big congrats on your acceptances tho!!
Congratulationsss and celebrationsss... ✨💕🎉🙌🎊
aww yay you should be so proud of yourself! Congrats!
Wowwww
Congrats on your success 🥳🥳
thanks for helping it really helped me in the sat.
Great video. Your sat videos helped a lot too
Loved the regular show intro!!!
MIT undergraduate school isn’t even worth it. I’m sure that you will rock it in college and could pursue a higher degree at MIT (which is what earns you the big money especially compared to just a normal degree from MIT)
Congrats Good Luck & Thank You for the Tips
I don’t know how she doesn’t act that all excited with these schools. I would be: “LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOO!!!!!!!” screaming at the top of my lungs

When she said "i was up late cuz i was building a helicopter" i just...
Im a masters application for computer science from India, didn’t Get in any of my ambitions and moderate schools, will be joining university at Buffalo this fall for my graduate studies!!!! U got in U mich, go get it girl!!!! All the best
Congrats! Thanks so much :D
Oh my god congratulations.. i don't know how they could reject your applications.. but never mind.. i think because you're better than to be accepted by them..
Whatever.. you have been accepted by great universities... you're fabulous.. i am sure you would be great wherever you go.. good luck Anna.. ohh wish me luck my sat would be on Saturday..❤❤❤
Thanks so much! Hope it went well for you :D
@@annas-universe
Ohh thank you so much.. and yes it did thanks to god.. and i have really benefited a lot from your tips.. i appreciate all of your great efforts..💙 i hope you have decided which university is better for you.. i wanted to ask a question if there is no inconvenience of course💙..
I want to take the ap test soon.. and i want to start practicing with a teacher.. unfortunately my school doesn't offer this test so i will take it online.. so can i have a tutor online.. like what is the material that i should study for the ap.. i don't know from where to start.. or how i can find a teacher.. some people said khan academy is a good place for practice too..
@@Noooooooor8 So glad it went well! A great place to start is on College Board's website--you can just google the AP test you're taking followed by FRQs and get the past 20 or so years of the real FRQs that have been on tests :) The multiple choice may be more difficult to self-study for since now the only way College Board gives practice multiple choice questions are through AP Classroom, but I'm sure you can find websites that try to replicate questions (Khan Academy is probably very good for a lot of the subjects), or get a prep book with similar questions to learn their style a bit better. Best of luck!
Oh thank you so much Anna.. i can't even describe my gratitude for your great help.. you helped me really a lot.. i appreciate it so much 💙
Yes.. i will do that..
If i want to take a course for the ap calculus bc test.. is there a special site offers that.. or only khan academy.. i mean should i take any course for calculus..
Like should i start i start with a course for calc 1 then 2 then 3.. and by this am i ready for the ap test..
The AP test thankfully only covers calc 1 and 2! I can’t think of any websites besides Khan off the top of my head, but I’m sure there are many UA-cam videos to help you learn (I like watching the organic chemistry tutor for any math/science help) and websites out there :))
congratssss and nice hair color btww
I don’t know how the hell you didn’t get into MIT when my friend got 1570 on his sat, hasn’t even applied, and they have sent him multiple letters
Really I love ur videos❣️. I really felt sad for u being rejected with such an excellent scores😥
Aaw thanks! Don't feel too sad--I'm really happy at Umich and feel like maybe in a way it was a blessing in disguise to get rejected from some of the others :D
I loved watching through your journey
I like the intro. The background sound was a nice touch.
Thanks! Idk why I went with the Regular Show theme but I'm glad it's appreciated XD
Hi Anna, I am Sampurna from India. Your whole story and enthusiasm just ignited me ..a lot. Congrats from a distant sister.
Congratulations!!! 👏👏👏
how the heck didnt you get into those schools you got 1600 on your sat even 3 people from my small school got into umiami, cornell and columbia and i didnt know they were that smart 😂
Well maybe it was bc it depends on the major - if a certain major is more popular it's tougher to get in. Not to mention random chance. A perfect score isn't enough to get you into any college you want, it takes national awards and lots of extracurriculars and even something as arbitrary as the essay! A lot of very qualified people don't get into any top schools simply because if chance.
@@brooklyn4198 if you don't have national awards can you still get in?
@@vintagesparkles4289 yes you can! Having awards is just a boost.
I can't wait for your upcoming videos
congrats!!! 🍾🎊🎉
So cute 💕 Congrats !
i'm so proud of you good job!!!!!!!!!
Congrats on umich!!〽️
Congratulations!!!
I was so sad when you got rejected from MIT. My senior got a 1500 on SATs and she wasn't involved in any extra-curriculars, she got in MIT with a scholarship
It's so unfair!
Congrats to your daughter!! That's still a very well-deserved acceptance :D
college admissions are not largely focusing on quantifiable measures like the sat or act. they’re looking and personal traits and admirable qualities conveyed in your essays , recommendations, extracurriculars. your daughter probably met their criteria qualitatively (or was chosen based on her race to foster more diversity and inclusivity). anna definitely deserved to get in but you don’t need to get a perfect score to get into these schools. although it’s technical school and there’s a large expectation for you to do exceptionally well on a standardized test, this year is an exception due to ongoing pandemic.
yayy congrats on University of Michigan!!
Just appreciated the Regular Show intro 😂
are you going to post any tutorials and/or advice about writing your essay submissions?
Definitely! I probably won't read out my exact essays to avoid plagiarism, but I'll for sure do some tutorials and advice videos and go over how I picked the
topics/stories I wrote about :D
Congrats!!! Have you decided what college you are going to attend?
Thanks!!! I'm enrolling at the University of Michigan :DD
Congrats!!!
Thank you so much for sharing this. I cried when I got rejected from alot of other schools.
Aaw I'm sorry--the schools that rejected us are missing out though!
If 1600 in SAT isn't even enough to get into ivy league then idk what is 😵
Wow congrats! Did all the colleges you applied to require the SAT score?
Nope! Most were test optional, and Caltech/the UCs were test blind this year.
@@annas-universe oh okay thanks!
She looks so adorable
girl, when you said you cried after mit, kinda felt 😂😂
I just want to say
I don't care about Harvard
I don't care about MIT
I don't care about Stanford
I don't care about Vanderbilt
I don't care about Princeton and Dartmouth...
Having said this, I hope they let me in. 😅😓
Congratulations!
getting a 1600 on an SAT doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll get into the top schools. especially since most are doing a holistic review process, and with covid most schools didn’t even use it as a factor in the application
furthermore standardized testing shouldn’t be used as a measure of intelligence. low income students are put at a disadvantage
^^ this! A lot of people get way too stressed out about standardized testing or put too much emphasis on it. I think the most important thing is to do what you love throughout high school, which will shine through to colleges much more than just a number. Then, even if the admissions process is rigged (which it definitely is to some extent), no matter what happens in the end, you'll still be happy with how you've spent your time :) But honestly,,, let's hope colleges ditch the SAT altogether soon
@@chloegober4124 that’s such garbage. How are low income students disadvantaged. It’s a very straightforward test .. everyone takes the same test
@@richardberman6694 because low income students don’t have access to expensive test prep resources that many people utilize in order to improve their score. furthermore, some schools that receive better funding are able to provide students with additional resources aswell
@@annas-universe furthermore wealthier students can afford to retake the test as many times as they like if they aren’t satisfied with their score
Congrats! Could you make a video about application process in the United States? You are so influential. Your smile is way cool.
For sure! Thanks so much :))
Do you think you could do a full math section walkthrough?
For sure!
The regular show intro Anna you know my favorite I bet you like it, also you who’s else got into college MY MOM!!!! Anna:OHHHH benson get back to school or YOUR FIRED!
I picture Anna in graduate school. How can she not end up there? I graduated from Yale more than 50 years ago and got into the five grad schools I applied to. I chose UCLA , rejecting Stanford, Berkeley, Duke, UTexas, to study with a specific scientist. In science I don’t think college is all that important. Williams, MIT, Beserkley, will all get the job done, ramping to grad school. Grad school is where real life begins. Slave laborer to a genius who will teach her, step by step, how to pin nature’s secrets down. Anna’s future has zero limits on it. Thank god students like her exist. Our future needs them to survive. Think Jennifer Doudna, a pioneer at Berkeley whose work will end up curing natural death. Anna strikes me as that sort of student. I am super jazzed watching this video. I also got a crush on her mom. What could be hotter than a woman who paints her nails MIT red?
Congrats 👏
Congratulations 👏
Did you get a full ride in any of them?
Thanks! I got nearly a full ride at the University of Michigan, and pretty thicc scholarships for both Purdue and the University of Minnesota :)
Awesome
Do the most Anna👌
i can’t really understand why you got rejected since you got a 1600
Just goes to show that test scores aren't everything!
@@annas-universe well i was aiming for a good college but since i saw this video im kinda frustrated
haha me too--don't worry though...I think it was a lot worse than normal because of COVID, so hopefully it's better for next year's applicants!
