  • Papas Tree Climber- Episode 3
    In this episode of Papas tree climber we replace the stock motor on an electric EZGO TXT golf cart. We replaced the stock motor with the highest torque motor on the market which is sure to give us enough power to climb through the woods. This how to installation requires you to upgrade your controller, solenoid, forward/reverse, and cables which we have in other episodes of Papas Tree Climber. Be sure to wear protective gloves, protective eye-ware, and shoes to insure proper safety measures. DIY Golf Cart encourages its users to subscribe to our channel to see more up and coming videos. This motor package will be listed soon on our site.

    How about a video showing how to replace the microswitch on the accelerator pedal? It looks like the pedal box assembly has to be removed to access the microswitch.

    Does you have to upgrade the controller or "anything" else after installing the beast motor. I'm after more torque for going uphill and not speed. Thanks

    I just bought a 2008 Club Car 48 volt with brand new Trojan batteries. It goes dead after about 20 minutes. I took it in and it turns out it has one of these blue high performance motors in it. When put on the computer at the Club Car repair place it shows an "overheat" code in the a stock controller. The repair shop is an authorized dealer and can't put any after market parts in. Is there a way to stop this from happening without buying a matching controller for the new motor? Thanks!

    Hello, I have a new 36/42 Volt motor almost Identical as you just put in except black. I believe I got the wires back on in the same place of the new motor as they were stiff. The Old motor information was gone. I put all back together and it barely moves forward and no reverse. Its my first time doing something like this and I'm lost at this point. I looked over the wires for numbers but didn't see any, I was hoping you would have some insight Please???

    I have a 36V TXT EZGO cart (Exact year I dont know) and was told the coils are burnt out and have to replace the motor. The previous owner converted it into a 4 seater and I wanted to know what would be the best option would be in terms of which motor to replace it with. The cart goes but starts to slow down considerably as soon as there is any incline. Also do all the different motors have the same mounting or are they different?

      Yes, but make sure that you have a controller and not a resister coil. If your golf cart is equipped with a resister coil, you shouldn't use this motor.

    I have a 2005 EZGO TXT that I want to upgrade. Nothing is wrong with it other than it is slow and having a bit of an effort in negotiating fairway slopes. I want more speed and HP so that I am not always the last guy in/out. Can you tell me what areas I could change to have these. Also, would I have to take out the body to do all these.

    • @golfcartking
      @golfcartking  9 років тому

      It really depends on the Electrical System your golf cart has. If your cart is a PDS, all you may need is a speed chip, otherwise you may need to completely upgrade the drive system as I did in the Tree Climber. Give us a call here at the DIY Golf Cart Garage and we'll set you up with any parts you need.

    • @golfcartking
      @golfcartking  9 років тому +1

      You will need to separate the input shaft and armature using equal leverage to each side. Sometimes it can be tough, especially if it hasn't ever been removed. Once you get it of before you put the new motor on, apply some anti-seize on the input shaft.

    Hi thank you for the video but what the amp at 36v. And the amp 48v how many milles can i go on one charge thank you God bless you

    • @golfcartking
      @golfcartking  6 років тому

      The amp per golf cart is determined by the motor. For example: a 48 volt high torque motor will pull the maximum at 585 amp's. That's the most the batteries can give up. Miles? That's determined on so many details, mostly your looking at minimum of around 120 minutes of drive time.

    Hi. I have a question about my 96 club car 48volts. When I press the acculturation I hear clicking sound in the solenoi. Also the motor A2 the white wire what is the wire for has no power. Please help???????

    • @golfcartking
      @golfcartking  6 років тому

      Since you hear the solenoid clicking, that tells me everything before it is working correctly . Go to the controller and check the B+ and the B- with a volt meter with the accelerator pedal fully depressed and make sure you have full battery voltage. The move the negative from the B- to the M- and press the pedal again. Make sure the reading goea all the way up to battery voltage. If not, may be bad controller.

    Do you have to change the Speed Controller out when you change the motor? Mine is an old txt

    • @golfcartking
      @golfcartking  5 років тому +2

      The only time you need to change out the controller when you swap out the motor is when you're upgrading the motor such as the Beast in this video. The Beast is a torque motor and pulls a lot more amperage, so a larger controller is needed.

      There are 3 types of TXT's: Series, DCS and PDS. Each will have a different electrical system, so before I can suggest anything particular I would have to know which one it is. Also, to reach that speed something has already been done. Call our tech department with your serial number for suggestions. 877-960-5464.
