  • Mount Rushmore is a colossal sculpture of four American presidents carved into the granite face of Mount Rushmore in the Black Hills of South Dakota. The presidents featured are George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln.I will tell you about Doane Robinson, the man who came up with the idea. I'' show you what it would have looked like if he had gotten his wish. You will learn about it main sculptor, Gutzon Borglum, and why he chose those presidents.Taking 14 years to complete. The sculpture was carved using a variety of tools and techniques, which I will explain. Each of the faces measure about 18 meters high, with noses 6 meters long and mouths and eyes 5 and 3 meters wide.In addition to the four presidents, Mount Rushmore also features a secret chamber called the Hall of Records. Mount Rushmore is a controversial monument because the land on which it was built belonged to the Native American Sioux Nation. Despite the controversy, Mount Rushmore is a popular tourist destination for people from all over the world.
