Concord is what Welches makes their Juice and Jelly Spread from. It is also a wine grape so you can start making some home made wine 😀. I could get you started early with some Welch's frozen concord grape concentrate, water, bread yeast, white sugar, a clean container and about a month's time. 😉
As far as grapes go. I bought 5 native Muscadine grapes because everyone said they are native, grow great and that the European style grape vines would get diseases here. I planted all 5 Muscadine, 4 died the first year! The European grape vine I planted went bonkers and has grown like crazy. On Year 2 and its already thrown out more than 20+ fruiting clusters ready to make grapes this year. The only surviving Muscadine is planted 16 feet to its right and its as stumpy and slow growing and tiny as all get out! 🤣
So I expect in 2 years you'll have your food forest caught up to the state of 17 Year Old Grows Food Forest In The Desert With A Racoon!
    🙃

WOW, 4 grapevines died. I like those grapes, too. If 4 died out of 5, I have second thoughts about growing them. Your grapevine has a lot of clusters. I want that kind of production. I thought about putting a cattle panel the long way instead of arched. I don't know if I made a mistake, but I will find out!!!

@@GrowSomethingTasty I did cattle panel (rebar fencing) with star picket metal fencing stakes when I had a farm and started raising pigs. I've seen people do them horizontal as a more permanent plant support than replacing netting every year as a vertical growing method for plants.
