You can transfer the sim before or after. It wouldn’t matter because now a days, SIM cards provide service and don’t hold info. @Kevlar, When you are using Smart Switch, It should give you the option to move items over from Internal and SD. If the SD option doesn't show for apps, then yes, move them over to internal before the transfer. You can download the switch app from either sources. They're both the same! Thanks for watching!!

Lots of data can be transferred to the new phone. It’s not always 100% but the app tries. Account logins does not transfer. You’ll have to re login to each app and usually the info populates with it. Thanks for watching!!

My question is... if I back up everything to Google so I can start fresh on my new Android Phone will I be able to go to Google Drive or Google one and transfer the files i want to keep to my new device? If you backed up your info to google you should get a replica of info when you get a new phone. On the new phone, don’t set it up as new phone, when you get into the google login screen, type in your google info and it should have your last back up after you’ve followed the prompts. 😁

Thanks so much!! Yesterday I looked at a couple of other videos on this topic and I just couldn't do the transfer. Thankfully I found your video today and all I needed to do on my old phone was install the smart switch ap, and then everything worked perfectly. The other videos kept taking me to settings to look for smart switch and it wasn't there so nothing happened. Obviously, I'm not tech savy so thanks a bunch for the part about installing the ap on the old phone.

For app transfers, smart switch will not save app data and login info. After you switch your stuff over, you’ll have to log back in to everything and your data may be saved through the email or account info from before
Can you use smart switch more than once between the same phones? Let’s say you’ve added new messages in between starting to use your new phone. And want the new phone to be up to date with messages and call history? Been trying it and now the old phone will only receive data from new phone. Thank you for the kind words! To answer your question, if your old phone are able to download Samsung Smart Switch, it should be able to connect to a new Samsung phone to start the transfer process. When you start the transfer process, the information from the old device will not be deleted. What Samsung Smart Switch does is, copy information from old and then paste the information to new. So if you’re worried that you may not have everything on the new phone, you can always relay back to the old one. Thank you for watching!

Do you need to enable wifi or mobile data if you are using wireless method to transfer? What happens if no internet connect halfway, then if you redo will it resume or restart? Thanks

Im transfering data from a s7 to a a53... can I use the new sim card ftom the a53 because it holds 128 gb compared to the old s7 64 gb.. plus its 5g .. the s7 is 4g.

my new samsung s21phone only gives the option to send to data not recive from my S9! they never see each other cable or wifi even with a local hotspot connection or bluetooth they will connect on hotspot and Btooth but app never connects to each other

Aright one thing you guys need to take note is, for every websites you ever been visit to, from the Samsung internet explorer, and "add to favorite bookmark" that, you can never bring them onto another new phone, no matter how I tried.

That’s a load of rubbish android is so user unfriendly that when transferring data the transfer percentage disappears on the new phone. You have to swipe down to check the progress. I missed this and started to download WhatsApp from the play store not knowing that data was still being transferred. iOS is way simpler it continues to clearly show transfer rate until 100% complete.

Aright one thing you guys need to take note is, for every websites you ever been visit to, from the Samsung internet explorer, and "add to favorite bookmark" that, you can never bring them onto another new phone, no matter how I tried.

That’s a load of rubbish android is so user unfriendly that when transferring data the transfer percentage disappears on the new phone. You have to swipe down to check the progress. I missed this and started to download WhatsApp from the play store not knowing that data was still being transferred. iOS is way simpler it continues to clearly show transfer rate until 100% complete.
I appreciate you watching! There is lots of people out in this community that either don’t like android or don’t like Apple. Transferring content is so important in todays society, and ensuring things get transferred properly from android to android is critical.
That is not how a new phone look like when start up first time
I will typically skip the start up screen on androids or Samsung because of the smart switch transfer.

In a conversation I had with Samsung, the apps will transfer but data in the apps will not. If you had a back up on those apps, you could get those back. Thanks for watching!!
