Cosmo's vocie being changed in the latin american dub is still a tragedy

the first one was the best of all the times but when it changed i just stopped watching the serie just for that. That important is the dub in a serie
I miss cosmo so much, *tristeza extrema*
In brazilian portuguese, Timmy had so many voice changes that the show was getting boring and confusing.
The Latino Spanish dub for the FOP, was made by the same people that dubbed South Park
I enjoy the only ep. That was dub in Mexico (jimmy and timmy’s crossover) but only the first one
@@marianwarner4973 Those were definitely better voices, but the fans were so used to the old voices they didn't wanted it to change (even if the quality of the dub was bad in comparison)

In Germany it's called “Cosmo und Wanda, wenn Elfen helfen“ which means something like “Cosmo and Wanda when elves help“ and I absolutely don't understand why they changed the name so much 😂
I think it's just because it has a nice ring to it, since in German 'Elfen' and 'Helfen' rhymes.. I mean 'ganz schön komische Paten' just doesn't sound as good in German and since the original title also had words in it, which kinda rhyme (the 'odd' with the 'God' in godparents) I kinda get it, lol..
Definitely a version that should be checked out, too!

@Oshabot 16 No, they are also fairies.. In Germany, fairies and elves are fairly the same, I think.. I'm not really into that mythology.. But we didn't change Cosmo and Wanda in any way

Elfen are basically fairies. In German fairies can also be called Feen. They are more or less the same I think. When referring to elves like in LOTR we use "Elben" (which is a synonym for Elfen, but used to differentiate, as Elfen is generally associated with girls that have wings) & Santa's elves are called "Wichtel" (wights).

Actually oddparents in Spanish (“los padrinos mágicos”) translated in English is magic godparents.
Lo que pasa es que Fairy Oddparents es un juego de palabras en ingles pero en español no se puede traducir por eso les pusieron los padrinos magicos

Shout out from Brazil, where "Os Padrinhos Mágicos" got THE most talented voice actor ever, Guilherme Briggs, voicing Cosmo, as well 50+ characters from movies, cartoons and series like Buzz Lightyear, Optimus Prime, Superman, Samurai Jack, Him (PPG), Miss Piggy and King Julien. While the english version got only a high pitch voice, Briggs is able to make a deep voice for dramatic of comedic effects whenever would work great!

In latin america "Los Padrinos Magicos" run in the channel -Jeti-who was part of Disney not Nickelodeon it was super weird when the credits rolls at the end.

I remember that! Well I'm Colombian, but I've lived in the States for years so going back home in the late 00's and early 2010s did bring these sort of surprises, but lately when I've gone back they are pretty similar to how stuff is shown in the U.S., however, at times they do have exclusives either created for the Hispanic-American channels or dubs of shows from elsewhere that aren't shown in the U.S. for some reason. Although I can still find the WB network in Colombia, which hasn't existed stateside for years! Among other channels that cable/satellite providers transmite in Colombia/South America.
I do think that in "abracatastrofe" in the opening the narrator says "nickelodeon presenta" in the latin dub, wich again, kinda weird since it was on Jetix and Disney

Here in Poland we had two titles for The Fairly OddParents, Przygody Timmiego (Timmy's Adventures) and Wróżkowie Chrzestni (which is normal title but in polish)
The French dub of The Fairly Oddparents started in Belgium before moving to Paris. Curiously, Cosmo's Belgian voice actor (Nessym Guetat) returned in season 10... as Chet Ubetcha and Mark Chang.

The French version of Danny Phantom has french lyrics for the song as well as french titles in the show. Your video of the french version of Danny Phantom is just the english footage with added french dub on top of it. But back in the days when it aired on TV every text was in french too.

fun fact about the french version, danny'S french voice actor a.k.a donald reignoux sang the theme song too i found that pretty cool so i just wanted to share it with you guys
God this takes me back, I was around 8 or 9 when I first watched this one, I am from Uruguay so hearing this does take me back, grew up with this show.
In Latin America we had FOP on Jetix (airing like every 2 hours or so) and Danny Phantom on Nickelodeon... Those were the days!

I grew up in Venezuela and I watched the Fairly Odd Parents religiously. The show was broadcasted in Fox Kids/Jetix, Disney Channel and Nickelodeon lol. The Latin American cast did an amazing job translating and voicing the show which was actually done in Miami by Colombians, Venezuelans, Chileans and Cubans. Danny Phantom was completely translated in Venezuela, they also did a great job. You gotta see more of it!! Fantastic voice actors 👏🏻👏🏻

I watched it in Italian when I was a kid! "I Fantagenitori". Translated becomes "the fantaparents" where Fanta stands anywhere bitween fantastic and fantasy! Great dubbers in this version too!
