It changed again (4/6/2024). Now after publishing the campaign I A. Pause the campaign. then B. Click Campaigns on the left toolbar, then under the Campaigns dropdown select “Campaigns.” Select your campaign from the dropdown list. Then click “More Details.” Then click “Edit in Settings.” Then select “Bidding” - and in there you will find an option for Manual CPC.
It's now "change bid strategy", then "select a bid strategy directly (not recommended)", the "manual cpc". However, there is apparently no place where you actually can set the cpc manually. It does not populate on the keyword page. There is no option to set the cpc column as far as I can see.
Excellent video. You showed me more in 5 minutes than I found through the Google Ads interface and link help topics in 2 hours (I've used the old Ad interface for 5 years). I agree... they're trying very hard to hide the personal bidding controls. You deserve to be at the head of the class!!!
Mate, I wanted to thank you for this video. I was tearing my hair out trying to find the manual CPC option and this video provided the solution. I wish you great success in your ventures =)
Yes it seems to be hidden even further now... A possible workaround, although it still doesn't give you visibility via any columns in your keywords. Just select all keywords, and then click edit, click on change Max CPC and then you can set the max manual CPC bid there. ( and remember.. just because you set a high CPC doesn't mean you will pay that, you only ever pay one cent extra than your competitors highest bid.)
your video has given me a huge relief as i wanted to keep phrase match type keyword which is not possible in case of automated bidding strategy, lots of success to you sir👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I have one query sir , kindly reply . I have set the bidding to manual Cpc but Google is not allowing to keep amount in max Cpc Column given against every keyword , to keep an amount more that double of 0.01 usd What to do??
@@NeptuneDesign sir my question is, there is a column named ''final url'' in front of every keyword we enter of which the by default amount set is $0.01 but when i try to change it i am unable to do so. Also , when i am setting a per day budget , do i have to still set the budget per keyword in the final url column? Please help.
Hi, I'm loving all of your videos! I tried to find the campaign settings cog however it doesn't appear on my version. I've tried switching between the new and the old appearance but it's definitely not there. Do you know where else I could find it?
Hey there !! Sorry you couldn't find it. There is one other place you can look, contact me on my page below and I'll help you quickly find it www.neptunedesign.co.za/contact-us/
What if we have 3 AdGroups (each containing 5 KWs) within the Campaign that we're switching to "Manual CPC"…? • Do we have to change the bid for the AdGroup too? • Or changing bid for just the KWs will be good enough?
You don't have to change the bid for the ad group, changing the bids for the Keywords is good enough. You can think of the Ad group bids like default bids, let's say you add 10 new keywords to your ad group and you haven't set any bids for them, Google ads will apply whatever the default ad group bid is to them automatically.
GOTCHA!!! Thanks a ton… Another one - When can and can't we set a bid-cap at AdGroup level in Google ads? 1. Can we only set bid at AdGroup level when using tCPA and tROAS ? 2. Or we can set it when using other bidding strategies too? 3. And since we're at it, under which Bidding-strategies can we set the bid at Keywords level? ALL of them, right? @@NeptuneDesign
@@NeptuneDesign No problem! By the way, I found the next day that the Max CPC column appeared just like that :| Not really sure why but I swear it wasn't there the day before and I also didn't find it when creating a custom column set up the day before.
@@hi_1833 one of our community students had the same exact thing happen to him on one of our coaching calls. He couldn't find it. Eventually we dug into the custom columns to go and find it.. but yeah your not going crazy, there are some weird happenings around Max Cpc lately.
@@NeptuneDesign I can't find out how to display the Max CPC column. It only shows the option for "Base Max CPC" which is under Bid Simulator and is something different. Any ideas? I have no way to view my bids at the keyword level and have converted to Manual CPC strategy and am viewing the right campaign per above.
Actually I was able to do a workaround by creating a custom column and only putting Max CPC into that. It showed up as an option under Custom Column > Create.
