  • The two piece door system doesn't always line up. Many people have installed a window sash twist lock. I chose to go a different way. I installed a simple adjustable pull latch. For me, this was a better option!

Awesome idea! Beginning to see some issues with the factory latch our TM came with. I'll have to plan on giving this a try.

Nice idea Travis. However, when setting up, before you latch the two halves together check that the two halves open and close without the gap opening up or binding during the swing. This gap or binding is often a sign that the trailer hasn't been leveled properly, or the shell height needs adjustment. I wouldn't use the latch to force the doors to stay together, but it is nice to keep them from rattling against each other to make a more solid door.

      Larry,
Thanks for the input. I adjusted my shells to 39 & 39.5", etc. Thankfully, not much forcing going on to bring them together. It does help to make the door more solid.

Great idea Travis, I had installed a small snap lock but it isn’t strong enough to do the job. I just purchased a sash lock to install. This looks and works so much better. Thanks

Chris, Thanks! The sash locks look nice...but I prefer the functionality and adjustability of this type of latch. Thanks again!

FlyboyTR were did you get it from? I really like the idea of it being adjustable. We were at Assateague Island for two months and went through a hurricane and two nor-Easter’s. The TM held up much better than I expected but when the wind shifted I could feel the top shell move. There were 40-60 mph winds, which sprung the snap lock. The sash lock would make it rigid but obviously would apply the stress somewhere else.

Great idea! Ordered mine just now, hope they arrive on time for this weekend’s trip. Our 2720 has a variety of sash lock on it but even with ideal level it eventually becomes undone.
Did you install that deadbolt yourself as well?

Thanks. Negative on the deadbolt. It was there when I purchased the camper.

That's a pretty slick solution. Our stock one is still working fine, but if it fails, that would be a good option.

I’ve taken over the Trailmanor after a divorce and I wish I paid attention. We need more videos on all the systems. Do you level the camper when it’s closed or opened? I know it’s very important for the fridge and for the camper to function properly. Thanks.

Judy, you need to level first, then open. When closing, close first and latch, then raise the stabilizers. There is a Facebook group called Trailmanor Fans as well as a forum called trailmanor Owners Group. Let me know if I can help in any way. good luck!
