What I love is that Dr. Glassman doesn’t say “It’s okay” because right now Shaun is not okay, but he simply said “I’m here.” That’s what Shaun needs. Is for him to be there.

@@user-wt4ef5og8v why did you copy them?
Hallo Marlon Mann Mie
He needs an Oscar for this show! This is some phenomenal acting! 👏🏾
Nah they won't. I have not seen anyone portray an ASD character as phenomenal as Freddie did.
They do not give oscars for tv
Yes .. he needs an Oscar!! He’s great!! Ever since a child he’s great!!!
@@Anna-zy8sj It could an Emmy, though...
Oscars are for movies.
Best scene of the entire series. So raw, emotional and.... very human. And the acting is outrageously good.
If this happened in real life he would not be "man enough" and should "man up" he has a reason to cry!
@@Combos_Animatorbro he has autism
@@Combos_Animatorno. You'd be surprised how much good people will show in the most difficult of situations.
@@D3fau1t-S3tt1ng well...sadly not for everyone
I luckily have people
But sadly not everyone
Its really hard for me to even imagine any other actor in his place. Such a talent he is !
Finding Neverland. You will weep at his performance. ❤
this is based on a 2013 korean drama of the same name. the lead actor Joo Won does a really good job.
@@Visshaldarhmmmm Freddie is miles better than him unfortunately.
@@jasonremy8688 don't be dumb.
“I’m right here. I gotcha…” when someone’s world and heart is crumbling to pieces all around them at once…there needs to be someone who can hold them together and keep the pieces from scattering.
Freddie Highmore is such an incredible actor. Way back from spiderwick Chronicles, Bates motel and the incredible Dr. Sean Murphy
And Charlie and Finding Neverland.
And August Rush
@@DontcryonmeOMG that's where I recognize him from
I remember him from Charlie and the chocolate factory
Honestly i could see someone in his shoes genuinely doing this. Everything in this situation is going wrong
Even someone who's Neurotypicals coming lose it about something like this. People all have their limits
Sometimes i wish i could just cry and hug someone like this... i think everyone needs to sometimes...
Freddie is a super incredible actor. Watching this episode gives me goose bumps. Unforgettable !!!!
I have high functioning autism, and when really terrible things and/or high stress situations that shouldn't have become that way happen, these kinds of episodes occur, mostly due to panic because of a loss of control and understanding.
Isn't there a med ? We all get overwhelmed or over wrought
Same here. I wish people could understand what it feels like.
So how it is portrayed in this episode is accurate, right?
@@lindaleelaw5277meds don’t always fix it, and it’s more than just overwhelmed…… I’m not autistic, but my mental illnesses mimic autism.
Imagine being in a pool and life is good. All of a sudden, someone yanks the stopper from the drain, that pool turns into a whirlpool and what you were floating on suddenly disappears. There’s nothing you can grab onto, the spinning gets faster and you’re getting dragged deeper and deeper into an abyss you don’t think you’ll ever come back out of.
It’s kinda like that.
Thanks for your informative reply. It's being educated like this that helps us to fully understand.
Im a multi brain injured / dx'd with ADHD @65 so I kind of get your perspective .
When told I said " no, I have a good personality " lol
As someone how had panic attacks. He plays its so well its scary and triggering.I can handle it but its exactly how it is
I bloody love Glassman so much. He's my favorite character. And Freddie is superb as Shaun. Hearing his real voice is crazy in comparison.
This is the straw that broke Shawn's back. He has been through a lot. Lia lying about his chart, Glassman said he would be by his side and not be there, try to save a baby where he couldn't save his own, even when he doesn't show, shawn cares about his patients and doesn't want them to go through what he's been through. Freddy deserves an Oscar for showing this heart breaking moment.
Emmy
Yes, I'd trust this man with my life.
You’d die
he’s actually a very good doctor when he’s not like this
@@awkwardfreakinperson7936no he’s always autistic
He’s actually a surgeon 😅
I would.
this is a perfect example of how it is a constant struggle to try and live life with autism on the high functioning side of things, I don't believe people truly understood/understand what its like to live with it and Freddie here did his research well and portrayed this moment very well to the point that I almost cried because I have to live life like his character not to the same extent(as I am a bit higher up on the spectrum) but very similar I love this show just because I can just go to clips like this and show it to those I love and care about and tell them what I feel by using clips like these as examples of my emotions that I have difficulties describing, all and all great show and great acting 10/10
Honestly I feel for this, I’m more functional then he is but god dam does this hit home it kinda makes me feel uncomfortable with how accurate it is somtimes
as someone with high funcitoning autism i felt this SO hard and had simmilar moments of autistic breakdown
I am usually a kind person (but also neurotic) so whenever i see shows like that it acts as a reminder to be kind to everyone. Maybe someone have inner demons to battle - which can be very intense.
I have a brother who is autistic, and the actor has all of the traits nailed...you would be convinced he really has the condition
Have you seen the Korean version of Good Doctor, this series is based on that.
@@Jettsett73Korean version was really awful. Korean actor clearly didn’t research autism .
I don't understand why they made fun of this show. The acting is pretty amazing.
I don't know for sure but When Shaun crumples up the piece of paper in his hand, he looks at it afterwards like "What have I done?" I'm guessing that piece of paper means something to Shaun and Lea.
That was their marriage certificate
@@Focus-is-mewhat had they both lied about
@@Catherine.Dorian. Lea deleted the negative reviews he was getting (new hospital administration basically installed a yelp kind of thing for doctors) without telling him and Shaun wanted to tackle the rating and improve it on his own, Dr. Glassman was being withdrawn and had recently skipped town to Montana without telling Shaun or answering his calls then he came back because Lea was pestering that he was abandoning Shaun. The guy has his own issues like his second failed marriage and losing his neurosurgeon career after having a brain tumor and Shaun starter to grind into his patience for like two whole seasons so he was ready to dissapear for a while.
@@Invaderzim2004 wow, thank you! 🙏
@@Catherine.Dorian.yw!
All the movies and tv shows I have seen. I have never seen an actor this good. To give me the chills and feelings of that character. It is just fascinating
Every man in America needs a good cry like this.
Who would've thought Charlie would grown up to eat these roles up like this!
Dr shaun makes me cry in this scene.. he deserves an oscar for that.. he is very good
Great acting Freddie
Big salute
Gawddd such great actors! Such amazing actors!
His a very good actor needs many acting awards.
Tht acting …ohh man❤️❤️🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️
Shiver..goosebumps..eveything ..
Ur d best actor ever saw
Tears 😭
What an incredible actor, amazing performance
I literally took a deep breath for him! 😮
Love this serie, love the script, love the Actor❤❤❤
I don't think the actors quickly regain their smiles after this scene
The absolute power of this scene is what makes this show a step above other medical ones.
One of the best scenes I feel not only see and hear
I need a Dr glassman in my life too🥺
I feel you Shaun wanna give you a hug
This episode really makes me cry too
Seeing Odin be a shoulder to cry on is trippy 😂😂
He is a awesome actor.
whilst it would have been good to have an actor with autism of this kind playing the part, the research freddie did to fully commit to the bit and give it the love this character deserved is truly amazing and without a doubt he deserves an oscar for his acting
I know exactly how this feels
good job...dr Shaun
why is this so sad😭
I need to watch this show
Believe me, I can relate.😢💔
he deserves an Oscar
Imagine if she cheated on him 💀 poor surgeon.
He really deserves an award but ❤
what a good actor!
Love this movie , autic people better then us more sincere❤❤❤
freddie at his best
Very very good 😊
Had my sobbing. Even when typing this.
Freddie highmore is an incredible actor
What phenomenal acting by freddie
My daughter has autism.. we don’t watch the show but this clip almost broke me 😢
I don't know why i feel this scene like a part of my life. It always makes me want to cry.
WHERE CAN I WATCH SEASON 5 OMG
For anyone wondering, it’s E7S5
What episode was this?
Im sad😢
My God if my man didn't good doctor the hell out of this scene 💪👍
0:29 lied about what? 👀
his performance reviews
just like Thanos.. Freddy receiving an oscar is just inevitable
Which episode is this??
He said the baby would not have died how does this have anything to do with scores😭🤦♀️
It is the breaking point for him. As an Autistic person, Shaun values honesty and truth more because he has always been picked upon teased.
He values honesty and truth because people used to play him as he has trouble reading expressions and emotions.
When Leah changes the score, she does it out of love and help because she knows and sees the system is flawed.
But Shaun sees that Leah doesn't trust him and feels that he is a weak person. He fails to understand Leah's intentions and care. On the other hand, he is also decieved by the system, unfairness and compromising with his Morales as he has to hide this fact.
His inner turmoil of not able to grieve his dead unborn baby and also his late brother, steve also surfaces here, which is triggered by a dead baby on table due to expired medicine and abandonement issues by his own parents when he hear that Dr. Glassman is leaving to Montana(he feels that he has nothing to offer Shaun now as he is doing good on his own)
This scene is the boiling point for Shaun. That's why the scores are equally relevant in this scene.
What is the context of this
The strongest scene in the whole show
Which season?
He needs an oscar for this scene
I saw it may be a year ago but I remember it and came back to see it
This series is an example when the actors are so good even for the intentions of the writer forcing his believes of supporting political views such as lgptq and hate of religion.
they don't give oscars for television acting lol
Wht season and wht ep
Which season and episode?😊
I can’t imagine being a surgeon and having to deal with a deadly surgery and it not succeeding
Whqt episode is this
Anybody else cryed here
I don’t even watch this show and this made me almost cry.
Freddie Highmore has been ridiculously not nominated for any Emmy for too long. Not many actors have the talent or courage to perform like this.
Sorry may i ask what season and episode this is?
Ay no mi bebé😭😭😭😭
Dr. Han once again being proven right lol
For a man with autism, i find this scene really sad.
Ok. Now I KNOW I need to go to bed. I just read "The Good Doctor" as Goosebumps. 😨😓🤦🏼♀️😵💫
Great actor he is so young and plays the role so natural, he is so talented, I love this show, I got a good connection with Doctor Murphy..I love his role
.❤❤❤❤❤
The good doctor is a great show from blue pictures television.
Where can I watch this movie please
It is a series called The Good Doctor.
I cant help but see the old fella as Odin
What happened?
Which season is this?
Season 5
Which season and episode it is..?
It's in the description
the aunts from that one commercial but they went crazy...sorry shaun love u
Has he won an award yet?
One actor carried the entire show.
😢😢😢 shaun marphy
This would never happen to Dr Han
How can Glassman be Odin?
Context?
I would have rewritten this scene to have either Doctor Reznick or Chief Lim comfort Shaun.
Shaun is heterosexual.
Why those two, in particular? Because they are both women? Dr. Glassman has known Shaun the longest. There is a deeper level of trust there. Shaun is going through an extremely traumatic moment....and while he does feel extremely hurt and angry over his mentor's news, and his girlfriend's betrayal, he still trusts Dr. Glassman to hold him in this moment and comfort him. He didn't pull away from him, as he did with Lea....he leaned INTO Dr. Glassman's comfort. He doesn't feel that for Lea because she BROKE his trust. This was full-blown GRIEF that Shaun was feeling....especially when he fell back against the wall, weeping. Rage, pain, trauma, sadness, a desperate need to understand why. That's what Shaun was feeling in this moment. And its hitting him like an emotional tidal wave. It had nothing to do with the medicine being expired.
So what? I like women, so I would have rewritten the scene that way.
@@IsraelNowIsraelForeverthat's ridiculous
Dr Glassman had been like a father to Shaun so this would have made the most sense for him to be comforted by him
Man shut up
how did Lea betray him?
Pov: I'm spoiling the show for myself
Whats Leas netrayel?
Me wondering what did lea do damnnn
He acts like this, he gets coddled. But when I act like this I have to spend 2 weeks in a psychiatric ward. 😂😂😂
Why? Whats your condition? Im autistic...i can get even worse than the guy in the show. I just need to be left alone to calm down.
