I have had to obtain extensive mental health therapy, and even after coming to Christ, I must stay in prayer and use healthy coping skills when interacting with others. I'm a survivor of years of brutal rape and mo*station at the hands of my junior high and high school band director. This abuse lasted throughout my entire high school career 1980 - 1985. Years later, when I was in my 30s, my sister reached out to me and shared that one of his current female band students spoke up about his inappropriate s#%ual behavior towards her. The board of education conducted a thorough investigation and asked for former victims to come forward. I traveled back to my hometown to testify against my former band director. With over 40 women from various graduating classes, all having experienced the same treatment with no knowledge of the others being abused. He maintained his innocence, and HE NEVER SPENT A NIGHT IN JAIL! In fact, he was treated as the martyr! Talk about a slap in the face.
Whether or not this abuse happened a long time ago or yesterday, those of us who were savagely victimized by his sick s*!ual abuse, we suffer the psychological and emotional effects for the rest of our lives.

He kept revictimizing that child, and so did her parents and all church folk who knew about the molestation and DID NOT REPORT IT to the authorities and see that he faces justice. I remember hearing a story of a Pastor in America.
Before THE LORD JESUS CHRIST saved him, he was a rapist. He said that he could not help himself but he cried out for help one day and from that day he stopped raping.
He read THE WORD, his life was renewed, got baptised.
For years several decades, he was preaching the GOSPEL. Then one day he was at a convention with Bishops and Pastors he knew and knew him very well. They were discussing about sins and he told them about his sin before he was saved by THE LORD JESUS CHRIST.
The day, all his friends disappeared. They refused to take his calls, he was no longer invited to conferences, to preach because they could not get over that he was once a rapist!
This is what some Christians don’t understand The Salvation THE LORD JESUS CHRIST gives.
The vilest offender, who truly believes a moment with JESUS a pardon receives!
And this is the situation. If you confess to THE LORD JESUS CHRIST and that is your past life leave it in the past.
We have the HOLY SPIRIT within us so, we can test their spirit. Additionally, where is our forgiveness; knowing that the LORD JESUS CHRIST forgave us.

I agree. He should be sat down for all the reasons you stated--he's not above reproach, and he's not of good reputation. He acted like a predatory monster by betraying that family's trust, esp the father, since he's the head of the household, and he perpetrated a child, not a young lady. She was 12 when he started messing over her. And he was dishonest about what he actually did and lied to cover it up. And he's still lying about it. I can understand the now woman still talking about it, b/c she did not receive justice. It's hard to have been so egregiously violated and on top of that to see your perpetrator living his life with no consequences and the whole church behind him. I'd holler, too.
IMO, this is coming up 35 years later b/c of unconfessed sin. The Lord does not tolerate persistence in sin. He said He'd "raise your robe over your head and expose your nakedness" if you did (said it to the Levites). God is serious about His Name and His little lambs. There are no exceptions. He whooped Nadab and Abihu, Hophni and Phineas, and King David and Moses, Aaron, and Miriam. He doesn't play. He is holy, and we must be holy.
I hope all truly repent, Robert and the church that covered this mess up, and further attacked this woman via legal proceedings (even more egregiousness). And I hope the victim gets the healing and care she needs.
Thanks, Corey, for your thorough, righteous, and fair assessment of and remedy for this horrible situation.

But they said, they told the church he was pastoring back then, to never let him be over a church again. The church sat him down for 2yrs and he was pastoring again. This is why the family is speaking out now. The child is grown now and speaking out, that she was only 12 and not a young lady as he stated. The Family should have had him arrested, and he would have been put on the registry as a pedophile. Then he could have repented in prison, serving his time. He should not have been allowed to be a Pastor again over no church again. Forgiveness is okay, the family spoke with him back then and chose not to prosecute him at their own will to do so. He should have been prosecuted and the crime justified for their daughter. The parents didn't prosecute him. He was sat down for only 2yrs. That's horribly wrong by the church, he should have never been allowedl to pastor again over a flock, this was a child. God forgive all yes of our sins. This is how the Catholic church did, they allowed these priest, to be moved from perish to perish, as these priest continued to assault young boys for decades over and over again. None of these priest ever went to prison. The families of these children assaulted were paid off for the assaults. The families took the money and settled. Pastor Morris should not have been allowed to still Pastor, because of the harm it brings in light of the church, the people who now know everything. The church us now in a uproar today. Tony Evans confessed sin, from years ago and now the church is in a uproar today, over his unknown past sin. See how their old sin has the churches in a uproar today. 💡My suggestion to all Christians: Desire and work on having an ever-growing intimate relationship with God. Draw close to God and God will draw close to you (James 4:8). You draw close to God by getting to know God. You get to know God by spending time with God in reading, studying, and meditating upon God’s Word. To know God is to love God with all your heart, mind, soul, body, and strength. And when you really know God, you will love Him.
Live in God's Word and let God’s Word live in You. Be a doer of God’s Word and not a hearer or reader only. Spend time with God daily in prayer. Pray about everything. Pray for the gift of discernment. Seek God’s face. Learn God’s voice. Keep your focus on God. Be faithful to God. If someone tells you something that does not line up with the Word of God, denounce it. God can’t lie and God will never go against His Word. Ask God to show you yourself, your heart, and allow God to work on you. Ask God to show you the hearts of the people you allow close to you. And be prepared to let some people go.

Based on the comments, absolutely not, but there's a LOT of "well, at LEAST I don't sin like HE sinned!" going on in these comments. The comparative sin/self righteousness is DISTURBING. ALL FOR SHORT. Paul straight up participated in MULTIPLE MURDERS and wrote close to 25 percent of the New Testament we all read almost EVERY DAY! What? You're ok with HIS style of sinning, so you won't stop reading his section of The Bible, right? Stop the silliness just because a person's sins DO NOT LOOK LIKE YOURS, church. We KNOW what it's called to treat a person a certain way because of a sin they committed from a past they cannot go back and change and the last time I checked, in Christ Jesus, THAT AIN'T SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN. All of that being said, remember some people here are just finding this out and in our sin nature, are reacting to that. I personally think anything that has to do with abuse should be enough to disqualify someone from serving as a pastor...and yes, that means forever. I'm moreso talking about the ideals upheld by God's written Word and you're absolutely correct that people are reacting in their flesh. Arguably, Paul was a Pastor. Should his multiple past murders have disqualified him from being a Pastor? Forever? Or, is it because his sin differs from what this Pastor did in his past, that made it ok for Paul to be a Pastor? I know we have our own personal opinions, but ultimately, it's about what GOD says. It kind of reminds me of Paul's conversion when Jesus came to Ananais and told him to heal Paul of his blindness. In Ananais' opinion, based on what's written, he was scared, but he probably also had the opinion to himself that Paul wasn't worthy, but GOD said he was. I digress, I don't know this man from Adam, but we gotta do a better job of making sure we treat others how Christ would want us to treat others. I apologize if I wrote too much. When we as believers try to gloss over sin as some are attempting to do in this case we are not honouring God. Also, for those stating the parents should have gone to the police, the father was going to report it but the elders pretty much begged him not to and to allow them to handle it in-house by making the pastor step down. The girl's father told them that if he remained pastor that he was going to the police. 2 years later, when the pastor went back into ministry, the little girl's father didn't approve. But the article notes that the pastor is telling people that he had her father's blessing. The victim says that's false, that her father did not give him his blessing, that the pastor was lucky he had his life (you can read between the lines). Look, many of these leaders manipulate and try to guilt people into allowing the church to "handle" situations like these. I think they manipulated this family. Not only that, but for anybody who thinks this man should step down from being pastor, but can still teach, you're bugging! He should not be teaching anybody. He just needs to sit on the pews like everybody else and that's all! Stop trying to throw him back into being over others in any kind of way. He needs to work on healing with his family and he can bring more glory to God by doing other things that don't involve being over others in a religious setting. Go volunteer, feed the homeless, just don't be over others and be around teens without supervision. Tired of this stuff happening over and over and over again and the leaders of these churches are just allowing it. I can remember the son of a pastor taking a 12 year old's virginity (he was way older than her) and the only thing his parents would say was when they thought she might have been pregnant, was..."well she'll have to get an abortion". @@MalaikaLele yes I should have put it in quotes “forgave” her. Like a passive aggressive forgiving. Like the girl was the one in the wrong.

Thank you for bringing much clarity and biblical truth/understanding concerning this sin of
his past and how to possibly deal with something like this in order for God's name not to be blasphemed or to bring a reproach on a ministry. I thank the Holy Spirit for how he has used you to bring to us this video in the right spirit.
My question is why is this coming out now when obviously it was dealt with in the 80"s????

Thank you for explaining this in a godly manner!
1 John 1:9 still applies to Rev. Morris regardless of the severity of the sin. There are however, consequences that are the result of the sin. Thank you for using the scriptures, specifically in 1 Samuel. I pray for the the elders of this church because they must do what GOD directs them! I also pray or healing of the young woman, her family, Rev. Morris, his family, his church, and the body of Christ!
