Hey Allex, Works well. I am now 175 lbs or 79KG. I have used this board with a 10.0m sail and a fin. This is the biggest sail I feel comfortable on this board. With the race setup foil I think about a 8.5m would be the biggest I would like. I currently foil with a Iris 9.4m and Windwing 11.6m "this sail is more for 80% slogging & 20% flying when the wind is very light and I want to foil rather than longboard". Anyway I would use my Starboard 159L for thoughs sizes. Actually I quite like my 159L for foiling with small sails too. 😄 The Isonic 131L works great with the team set. I think it is best suited for fast finning on flat water with light to medium wind or with a freeride foil. The not as wide in the back and very very light board would work so well with a fun freeride foil. 🙂 Hope this helps
@@jonathanreinke9392 Thanks for your reply! I am foiling with the Race Setup, 800 225 115 with a Jp Super Sport 125 (76wide) and just for cruising it feels nice, but especially in the gusts it is hard to control sometimes.. I think a wider tail would solve the problem..?
Great thought! The widder tail would help in higher wind some, even more for grinding upwind. With sail sizes 7.0m or smaller I usally keep my back foot out of the straps and more center for comfort. I personally like the wider back for stability slogging off flight. For me I like the 800/255/115 for medium to high up / down wind and light wind reaching. I have found for medium to high wind reaching the 800/255/115 is a handfull "the 800 holds onto the power". The 800/330/75 or 550/330/75 do much better for when the wind picks up on a reach. The wild card is the 1000/255/115, I love this foil for up wind, down wind, reaching, zig/zag and a big wind range. The high aspect ratio and design when pushed hard release some of the power, this makes it way better for comfy fun. The M1000 is a bit slower than the 800. Oh and you can get away with a smaller sail size. If you do not foil with bigger sails you may conssider getting the M1000 front wing "I have not yet tryed the M900 front wing, that may be great too" and keeping your SuperSport? Right now the 1000/255/115 is my total go to. 1000/330/95 is best for flying jibes 550/255/95 is great for speed and GPS runs. Happy Thursday! 🙂
@@jonathanreinke9392 I think with the M800 FW it is already at the limit of what the board can handle because of the width. I thought the M1000 wing would give me so much power that I can not handle it with my board..
First time I tryed the 1000/255/115 I rigged my Iris 9.4m and I was at Green Lake. Wind was not too much but it looked like it was going to build so I thought it would be a short session becasue I was thinking the 1000/255/115 would get overpowered before the 800/255/115. The wind did pick up and I had a blast. Logged 30 miles with a 🙂 on my face. There are so many new foils comming out so a lot of options. What is your weight? This makes a big difference for foil board comfort. What is the biggest size sail you use? Makes a big difference on how wide of a board you should have.
my favourite board of all time Starboard Isonic (2006) i got the 135 and 150 and its super fast with a foil
Nice!
What do you think about foiling with this board and the Race Setup?
