    Which did you prefer?

    Which beater has a deeper tone and better rebound ? About to buy one of these beaters when Tama releases them in a month. Can't decide which one has a deeper tone and better rebound.

      I'd buy the old Beaters if you like light ones.

      +Rosalie Tabal doesn't really answer my question. Not sure if this is your video or you just came across the comment trying to help out. I already have the old beaters. That's all I've used for years and years. I'm trying to find out which one out of these two is lighter and packs a little deeper tone. Sounds like the iron cobra beaters packs a little deeper tone but heard the speed cobra rubber beaters are lighter. Still trying to narrow down which one to get out of these two. I've tried all types of beaters out there, but found Tama beaters and the classic two way DW beater to feel the best for me under my foot on my pedals with my spring tension and style of play. I do want to try the Vic firth vic kick felt and wooden beaters too but heard those are on the heavier side but packs an amazing punch.

      I have the newer silicone beaters on my speed Cobras and they pack a very nice punch for a small light beater. However I do get more rebound with my dw beaters felt side, but they're much heavier so it's a win/lose catch 22. I also have the felt Vic kick beaters and they're very heavy. Slightly heavier than the dw even.

      I had the dw 9002 first and still have but also got the double speed cobra recently. Believe it or not I'm preferring the speed cobra over my 9002 for two reasons. One the feel is a bit lighter, especially with the Tama beater and putting a light beater into the 9000s just never felt right for me. Two the foot board is much more comfortable to my foot and I like its longer board. Do you also own both dw and Tama pedals? If so which do u prefer?

      +Larry Tate same exact scenario with me bro. Played the DW 9002 pedals for years and liked it but never really dialed it in to exactly my perfect feeling pedal. Not enough throw as I would like. I bought the new 2016 Tama speed cobra double pedals and they are far superior IMO for the action, power, speed, and smoothness I look for in a pedal. I could never find that perfect feeling till I bought these speed Cobras. And the new accu strike hard rubber beaters are amazingggg. They don't wear down and are super punchy with tons of attack. Love these over the DW 9002's in every way. I messed with every single setting with the DW but the Tama straight out of the box was almost perfect, I just changed the spring tension a few clicks and I was good to go. Best pedals ever for me and will stand behind speed Cobras and Tama pedals in general.

    So would the speed cobra be the way to go if you use the heel-toe technique? Also with the speed cobra do you feel the weight when you kick or do you feel no weight at all? Sorry for all the questions man. awesome video though!!!

      Obviously it depends how you have the spring tension that can change the feel and how high you have the beater up. In general it is the smoothest pedal I've ever played. Smoother than the DW 9002's and faster and more powerful. I don't feel the beater at all and the throw on these is crazy, it almost touches your foot and then flies towards the bass drum even during fast double strokes. But no matter what the settings u have it on, it will be smooth and u won't even feel the beater, just a tiny bit but it's good to feel a little something there for control. I put the beater a little above the center of my 22 inch kick which is almost he entire shaft of the beater sticking up but you get better throw and power that way. I also have my spring tension around the middle medium. I'd recommend this pedal for anyone who's looking for a fast powerful smooth chain pedal with amazing throw and action who doesn't care about long boards. I've never played a longboard before this pedal but love it

      From recent experience, you can heel-toe on anything. Try dropping your heels off the inside edge of the pedal

    I just sold my iron cobra pg thinking of getting the sc,the pg had that turbo like affect with the cam where it got to a certain point then took off slamming into the head hence being called the power glide,,rolling glide i believe has the same cam as the sc,but the angle of the chain on the sc as you can clearly see is alot more than the iron cobras is why its a bit lighter on the foot....will definitely be going out trying the sc,,,but i was also thinking of gibraltars direct drive...just never played a direct drive before....alot of people bag them out,,,who knows each to their own i spose

      Which one did you go for? I'm also thinking about Gibraltar 6700 direct drives vs Speed Cobra 310 LW (budge double pedals). Would appreciate some advice.

      @@andraspeter1114 i bought a Gibraltar direct drive i never liked the feel of it, so i sent it back and bought a camco reissue from tama, hard to find but a good pedal only single chain but very smooth. The tama speed cobra are a awsome pedal the 310-910 are both good pedals, the 910 has more adjustments etc, but i would also recommend the tama duo glide 600 twin chain, you have the option of changing the cam to rolling or power. The iron cobra pg was a awsome pedal very quick but heavy on the foot, at the end of the day you really have to try pedals out before you buy, we all have different feel etc.....and the biggest thing is your technique. Anyways hope you find the right pedal, let me know how you go.☺

      @@bonzoligist6330 Wow, I really appreciate the quickness and depth of your response. Thing is in Romania, music shops don't have a return policy (the bastards) so I guess I'll have to simply go for the speed cobra 310's. Somehow a Gibraltar direct drive for the same price seems fishy to me, and I know the reputation the SC has. Plus, I really like the longboard style footboard, I play a lot of doubles so I think that would be good for me.

    • @bonzoligist6330
      @bonzoligist6330 3 роки тому

      @@andraspeter1114 awsome choice......the 310 is a smooth fast pedal, if you look closely at the angle of the chain from the cam to pedal its on a near 45 degree unlike the iron cobra where its straight 90 degree...that also gives it a more responsive attack. Yeg i know it sucks not being able to try before you buy, but you will love the 310, even if you go into your local music shop and ask to try out a few pedals im sure thay will let you once you wave some cash around....take it easy.
