Ice Cube stayed in the hood after he became successful, because he wanted to prove how "real" he was to the community by not selling out... i.e., "Be True to the Game." After he got robbed a few too many times, he bailed and moved to the snow... and I don't blame him. You can love your people from a distance.
Kory Green Then married a white gold digger. The few rare successful and unsuccessful want white women. Careless if she runs off with their cash. They only care if she's not black lol.
@Saving/Me Ice Cube has been married to the same Black Woman for 25 years, the mother of his children, so please stop listening to propaganda and making up stories
Elliott Morris I think black women are calling light-skinned women "white" or "mixed" these days. They don't want to compete with them, so they're kicking them out of the race.
Being flashy brings all the wrong attention and once the cat is out of the bag your problems multiply. Being low key keeps your stress level to a minimum and also from being a target.
I really despise the stereotype that because a black man is successful that we MUST drive and wear our money. Doing that gives us too much unwanted attention. It also shows a level of insecurity, to think or feel that you have to look a certain way to be recognized or the desire of regonition. For what? I don't have to impress anyone.
I had this white dude in my physics class who use to joke with me by saying I got in on affirmative action. I didn't sweat him because I know who I am and how I got here. We use to talk everyday in class until he happened to see my test score. I had 100% in red on my test, he took one look at, then looked at me. I said jokingly," how bout that affirmative action". He never spoke to me again even though I had him in at least one class every semester for the next 3 years.
I've had that happen too. This one white dude I knew since my freshman year who would be generally friendly walked past me with out saying anything on graduation day.
He believed the hype til you showed him different. When something is repeated over and over it sticks in a persons mind, even the negative. And he didn't want you to do better than he..
I'm worth over 6 figures and just sold my 95 Camry this year.I have a few cars but this was day to day car.Women actually judge your success based on appearance. In the black community people really believe the guy with the biggest car note(nicest car)is the most successful
Rom Wills I got a candy painted 68 convertible that I drive from time to time.Every woman it's ever attracted was a sack chaser😂😂😂😂.I had a guy argue me down saying we get the fancy cars for the women but like you said I do this shit cause it's what I like.
WOMEN IN GENERAL is SELF-INTEREST & BLACKMEN STARTED FOLLOW. My Professor Took us/Students Write an Essay, this Spanish Student Wrote In his Story His Friend WON $100,000. He told his Friend Invest it, He met a Woman they have a Child WHEN the Money FINISH She & the Child Left.... So with Respect. TREAT Black Women Nowadays just as the Caucasians Treat their own, Has long have One Black Woman THAT understand YOU & Her are In this Thing Together YOU & HER will Creates A Fortune Period
There is nothing sexier than a low-key prosperous man. If I am building something with you, the less interference from haters and coat tail riders... the better. I'm not showing off my curves, assets, attributes etc because I'd rather utilize and exercise those things with the one I'm with to aid in propelling us to new heights.
the main reason to stay a successful, low-key black man is because you will have all types of people coming up to you with their hand out feeling you owe them something even after moments in which those same people dogged you out & shamed you in your endeavors to be successful. Another reason is being flashy and a show off will earn you the attention of someone wanting to take advantage of you, so it's wise to be low-key and unassuming. I hate to say this, but if you're a black man that doesn't fit the stereotype then a lot of people including black people will look at you as if you have issues.
Hahaha, you right, our people are dysfunctional as fuckkk.. They will think something wrong with you for acting like that. They may even accuse you of having no personality, as to why you are keeping low. Lol!
I just love it when I go to networking events and tell women I'm a construction worker and a car washer just to get ignored or face an arrogant reaction. But when women find out that I develop commercial space and own a detailing service they break their necks trying to holla lol. Lol, I get a kick every time!!!
You are so right . They are dating for help not caring about anything else in a relationship. The last few women i am talking to are acting in this same way . SAD 😢
Melvin Tucker , these type of women are like an epidemic. They dress up the poverty and have you thinking they are together, then they start with the ", I need a favor". Red flags instantly! Ruuuuun lol
When I was growing up, successful Black men were often quite flashy and showy. That was OK then, because people were different. Today, that kind of behavior can get you harassed or killed. It is best to hold your cards close to the vest.
Most flashy successful black men are usually those who are in entertainment, sports, streets, e.t.c. Rarely do you see successful black men who made their money outside of entertainment, sports, streets, hustle, or illegally, flash their money. You can also tell by their dressing. The non flashy guys typically dress very simple and drive regular or decent luxury cars, nothing to grab attention.
I play loud music in a small car. Criticised. I play loud music in a Lamborghini. Show off. I walk with confidence without money. Loser. I walk with confidence with money. Arrogant. If you know you like expensive cars because you've always liked to have it, go ahead, your conscience is clear. The issue is they don't want to see other people shining unless they are too. That's not your problem.
My dad makes 6 figures as a truck driver. He intentionally lives below his means so no gold diggers come to him wanting a come up. Also, some women think men who do trades are beneath them when in reality most trades make good money nd job security.
Our blk sisters may think low of those trades men but not non black women, since half of them were raised by men in the trades. Most of our sisters were raised by Pokies and Ray Rays, so don't know any better or how much they make. Not unusual for plumbers, electricians, HVAC, roofers, builders, e.t.c , to take home over half a million in high brow areas on new construction projects.
Family and friends are the worst with the mooching. Sometimes people don't have even have to be six figure successful just the potential people will mooch.
NawaltBlaccSwan the poverty side of ya family will always have they hand out and then bash you when you say no, especially the women. lol too much bull I tell ya.
Black people do help their blood relatives... But listen to this quote “Give a Fam a fish, It would feed them for a day, but teach your fam to fish, it would feed them for eternity”
I think what differentiates Jews & Italians from blacks is because of how they value hard work and traditional values. Yes, you are supposed to help them but not in financing. I think getting them opportunities (example like a job) and access (networking) would be much better. Giving them money is not sustainable.
Good message Rom. I got my first 6 figure job at 28 and after some years of flashy/wasteful spending, being a target for women with their hands out and other lessons learned it took me til about age 32/33 to realize alright let me go the lowkey route. Wish I had been lowkey from the jump, woulda saved myself alot of BS (and money)
MAN this is real. I peeped Game a long time ago & learned that "peacocking" (showing off) will get the tax man on yo ass, or get you set up to 'get got' in the hood, or cause you to lose business (because sometimes *white folks* would rather do business with *a black man* if they think you're struggling vs successful). There was a rap lyric back in the day "The strong move quiet, the weak start riots". But My favorite quote of almost 20 yrs is by Tupac - *"Once a muh' fugga gets an understanding of the Game, and what the Levels and the Rules of the Game is... the world ain't a trick no 'mo, THE WORLD IS A GAME TO BE PLAYED"* -2pac Staring at the world thru My rear view
It's hard to get your Mufassa on when you're hanging with a bunch of Scars. It seems like most black people hate success, and think god or Jesus is going to drop off success on their door step like a UPS package. Any type of success leaves you trapped. If you talk about it, you're bragging. If you don't talk about it and people find out, people feel entitled to your success and try to leach off of you. I'd rather be quiet and successful. No Instagram, no Facebook, No Twitter. Just get money and enjoy life.
I have a few dudes from my neighborhood that. I used to hang out with when I was doing ok for myself in the 30-40k range. When I stopped hanging out and focused on me my annual income increased dramatically. I used to by Gucci and Louis back then. I appeared to have the type of money back then that I have now. The only difference is now I wear older clothes on a daily basis and I look like an average joe. I even drive a cash car. But, my house is incredible. I have people coming back telling me that these guys are speaking my name collectively and all of them are at 4-10 years older than me. My life changed for the better and they got bitter. I just budgeted my time and my money better. I changed the things that I was feeding my mind and got focused. They hate me because, "everything that I am is everything they will never be" -T.I.
I think this applies to successful men period. There are millionaires and even billionaires riding the trains (in NYC) and dressing down. Whether you're rich or poor, I think people need to focus more on developing their character especially if they are looking for a long-term relationship.
I learned from watching my father when I was a child. Family, women, and supposed friends are the worse. If anyone isn't competent, accountable, and willing to put in the sweat and tears with you. NO! MFers will go out of their way to sabotage you even when you're minding your business and/or helping them. I'm strictly on a need to know bases. And I give everyone 1 chance! Why hate when WE can thrive? Get a dog... Anyway...
I Agree with this Video 100%..... As a Blackman who's now in his early 30's was always taught by my father and other father figures that showing off and being overly flamboyant can lead you to a early grave....I've hung around people that are liquid to the point where being concerned about not having money is a afterthought....the problem with some of our brothers when comes to money is that alot of us come from nothing and we're not used to having exorbitant amounts of money...that means we're susceptible to being preyed upon by people in and outside the blk community.....
Rom Wills and that's the issue Mr. Willis...... there's guys out there that got a 100 million+ in the bank but you'll never know they have it because either they're wearing a simple polo shirt and pants and and chucks and they're driving a Honda..... and get this I know a friend that knows someone that works for the Internal Revenue Service and what he was told he said they love going after Black Athletes or African Americans who have money that they flaunted and frittered away... they love going after them cuz they know when they spent their money on things that don't appreciate in value and they pounce on them..... cuz they know that some people that have no knowledge in growing their money exponentially..... is that they're going to give it right back to the very same people they gave it to them...

You better keep a low profile. Its too easy to become a target, especially in urban areas. Not just men, but women will wanna get you caught up. Too many jealous people out there. With today's economy, even just doing alright is enough.
Here’s the thing. Being flashy with your money is a sign of insecurity. There are opportunistic people EVERYWHERE. There are haters EVERYWHERE. No matter the race. No matter the gender. Just be low key and make your moves quietly. You will attract like minded people. Like attracts like. It’s as simple as that.
i went to this bar/lounge once for the first time, just to have a drink. and i kept noticing this guy sitting at a table by himself. he had on jeans, a tee shirt, and tennis shoes. dingy almost. wasn’t really talking to anybody. but, i just thought his quiet, loner demeanor was so sexy. he had such a mystery about him that i asked the bartender about him. she went and spoke to him. all of a sudden he came and sat beside me at the bar. after talking for a moment he told me that he was the owner, lol. (as a side business). he grabbed my check and balled it up. we started dating after that. he drove a ford truck and always dressed like that even on dates. he owned foreign vehicles and his home was enormous and elegant. and on the flip side their was a regular who would always come in that same bar with layers and layers of chains and always throwing money in the air, buying up the bar. my boyfriend at the time shared with me that the money he was throwing in the air was like all the money he had. lol. real wealth is sooo quiet.
Most blk women will overlook him and make assumptions about him, like you almost did but eventually got to know him. That's the biggest issue our women have with picking men, they focus on facade or impressions, rather than getting to know the person. Most successful men operate in that fashion and only women who was raised by one, been around similar type of men or dated one, will see potential.
I'm glad that there are more videos like this. In the age of the internet, black men should be able to penetrate the false, ratchet, ideologies shoved down our throats using hip hop and media. UA-cam channels like this are VITAL. I love it. Keep it up brother.
I can speak on this all too well. It boils down to our people in general are "Opportunistic Consumer" minded people. The orderly "Productive" minded black man has to lay low because they don't see you as someone who can improve the community, they see you as an Opportunity to GET SOMETHING. They don't value the process in producing fruit, just the fruit and the shortcuts to get it. If you are successful as a black man, Protection is a must, and blending in with the rest keeps the wolves off.
Because we can. If you are the best you don't need to say it people will see it eventually. I'm not rich but don't get it twisted i will always have money and those are facts. Being successful is not really about the money it's about how you present yourself to people that has nothing. They will see it in your eyes if you understand what i mean.
I drive my Bentley in LA and my M6 in Miami. In brooklyn all my friends think I drive for Lyft. I own about 12 rental properties and 6 beauty bars.. I would never let niggaz no I'm getting it like that.. no jewelry nothing.. keep it simp don't stand out and only shine when needed
Maurel Antonio I agree and respect what you had to say, but even if you try to keep a low key, dude and women will still come after you because they know you got it.

Mr. World Free-Man just stay off the gram.. surround yourself with people getting it like you or doing better than u.. I'm not rich.. my cars are leases.. my lady.. a humble Haitian chick from brooklyn real regular.. dress like a wolf among wolves and a Fortune 500 CEO when conducting business and stay out the hood unless u helping people out..
Maurel Antonio I don't know where in Brooklyn you're from, but this is smart thinking. One of the said things our borough is we don't like to see our own shine too brightly.
True wealth comes from inner peace. Peace of mind gives strength and conviction to reject the TRAPpings of materialism..... commas and zeros in one's back account are very calming
I remember Biv from New edition saying that there was a time period where alot of other artists were publicising how much they got thru their label deals, & although he was making the same large deals, he was quiet & humble enough that he could walk in the streets & not get stalked or jealous of.. Wise advice
Being low key is adviced. There are many forces trying to destroy successful black men. So, I have to tell others what I am studying versus what I am doing. Never tell the volume of business you do.
I ain't misrepresenting anyone. Since when do black men have to apologize for making doe or being flashy it's my brand. It makes me money. I don't necessarily like being flashy, but no man can make something look hot as much as a wealthy lookin black man can. Never apologize for anything. save some for your kids and beyond try to contribute to society
I'm not rich or own a business, i retired from the military with 2 houses, a bank account,a separate 401k, and other investments, women overlook me for clothes and pretty cars,i couldn't understand why, then i began to see how it was a good thing to be low key, it cuts down on the gold digging, white women use submissive sex, black women said i was gay or couldn't handle a real woman, so brothers stay low key, listen to what comes out of their, don't be surprised
Thank you. great video. Low key brother here and making moves. Agree 1000% with what you posted in this video. Told a neighbor about only a glimpse of what I'm doing and the entire relationship shifted. Not tryna go there anymore with our people. Sometimes we are just tryna live one day at a time without all of the hoopla. Because we make moves and get to a good place doesn't mean that we're void of the need for love, respect and appreciation just like everybody else. So sad but we will never be able to advance as a people but one day at a time, maybe as individuals we can there. Thanks Man! I'm Out! :)
Facts bro Lowkey is the Best way to Live more peace & Relaxation so if your successful stay low so you can see the snakes out even in your own circle facts👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿❤
I find this very relatable even though I'm Indian. I agree, people need to stop going out of their way for attention. I see people working minimum wage pulling up in german cars they can barely pay monthly. I'm making good money and don't even have a car. Might have to get one soon but as of now it's not needed
My parents are wealthy and this explains why i only met a few family members. My parents always kept me sheltered but i did have a culture shock when I visited one of my family members.
Brother Wills : I have always said that "WEALTH SHOULD BE INVISIBLE". I see way too many brothers in Charm City that are riding around in Fancy New BIG Luxury cars that have no networth and look good but are BROKE!
the only thing about your wealth that should be visible, is a healthy smile (healthy teeth) and a nourished healthy and fit body (can afford to have free time to exercise, afford healthy food to eat, and afford regular check ups by the doctor). All other things come secondary to those things.
I always come back to these videos to remember why I should stay low-key and not try to impress people I don`t even know. Thanks uncle Rom 👑. I was thinking about going to Miami next month, rent a big penthouse, a wraith for a few days and buy some designer b.s just to post it on the gram for my birthday... Thanks God I have self-discipline.
I think it's absolutely important to be humble about our accomplishments and economic class in society. Too many young men think they have to flash their wealth and riches to the public. When I was young I fell into that trap set by the mainstream media, especially depicting young African-American men. The military taught me different.
Exactly! A successful man is a intelligent and gets noticed whenever he speaks. A dumb person needs to force you to pay attention to him because they have nothing else to offer.
Just had a woman I used to date try to clown me like I'm a bum. I have almost triple her savings/investments and make around 3 times what she does hourly. I work for myself and make my own hours while she's still on the plantation. We met during a difficult time in my life. She let the issues I was struggling with and my humble, messy apartment fool her into thinking that was all there is to me. Small minded thinking.
Rom Wills She was cheating since in her mind I'm a loser. When she found out I'm worth 3 times as much as her, she got quiet. I'm done with her. Easily the most dishonest, coldhearted woman I've been with. Covert narcissist.
You are right. I went into a trucking business with my ex. We got back together 35 years later and starting the trucking business. I put up the capital he had his CDL with endorsements. I made a BIG mistake. He knew what kind of person when he was with me the first time. He was still greedy and selfish and ran off with my truck. I had to fire him again. I am still recuperating from the financial loss from this. I will make it.
There's so much truth in this video it's crazy. Being from the DMV and the number of successful brothas I personally know from working in I.T is crazy. Most of them are modest dudes who drive a humble vehicle and are about their business. Like my boy just got that genesis g80. Beautiful luxury vehicle priced decently in low 40k range used. Women ain't rocking with him because it's not a "Benz" its a "Hyundai". Or they clown us for going out to network and play golf. "were trying to be white" some people would say. I wear jeans some work boots and they think I'm poor or something. That's not the case. Some of the server rooms I've been to you need good footwear not dress shoes. It's just astounding the chances "smart low-key" men don't get.
Listen, as a female the competition is real!! Especially at work! My new job with the airlines . it's 3 months and already last week my dominican coworker im real cool with told me the 2 older black women were talking sit about me!! Mind you i don't even know their names! i never spoke to them except for 1 because i needed help with something and then 2 hours after u help me u talking shit about me with the next black chick!? I don't talk to back women at work because of shit like this !
bronzed beauty as a bm I always suspected that bw deal with this issue too. no wonder alot of innocent looking bw always seem pissed in the workforce. it gotta be some hatin going on for them to be like that.
spacely man + yes!!! and hell even the ones that are the same age do the same shit. honestly ALL races of women do this because this is female nature BUT i do think it's worse amongst bw. they will get you fired if they don't like you.
This is true AF, but to tell the truth its not just exclusive to the black community. This is just what comes with success. Now the reason that a lot of athletes and entertainers ball out and are flashy when they get money is because they don't build money it usually happens over night that they go from broke to rich. Yes, they have been working hard at their craft but the money did not come over time it came quick and fast so they don't know how to act or appreciate it when they get it.
Bravo. Brother, you must be in my age range and from the East Coast. I'm from Richmond, VA. I try to tell theses ATL folks about this very subject. They don't get it, they think the flashy dude is balling.
Listening to this video and reading the comments it's pretty obvious why the Black people community is in bad shape. Successful Black people should be seeking out other Black people with drive to be successful. If you know how to get money you should show every Black person willing to do the work to get it, how to get it.
Rom that last example you made when you was talking about test scores.... Man I would've been cool w/ a 77% or 81% especially if I bust my butt for it LOL. No need to compete with other people. Stay in your lane.
And , no ,you don't have to be from the streets to be sharp about the streets but if you have'nt been raised in it , don't just try to get in IT....there are rules , and you get more than a slap on the wrist when you'er not on point,,,see what i'm saying ,,, Appreciate the positive response brother...RESPECT.
"Mmmh who the fuck is Jr?" 😂😂 My grandfather, who owned an oil rig, is the definition of this video. He owns a farm currently, about 40 miles out of Chicago, and literally moves discretely in the shadows. Owns about 4 cars from the 60's, never drives them however, and dresses like a "bum". However, little do people realize, he paid my brother and I's school tuition with his income of this year alone.
"Have more than thou showest, Speak less than thou knowest." Just found your page and I am quoting Shakespeare. Great video, and even though I am not at six figures (yet), I figured out the truth you have here a while back. I hope more men figure this shit out. And my family is from the Virgin Islands... Nice women? You bet! And be careful...
I don’t keep my money in the bank no one knows how much I earn I get paid and my money disappears somewhere. Folks I work with roll in 70 k mustangs but I’m like nah I’m cool. The key to be rich is pretending to be broke ahaha trust me. I don’t want these girls to think I’m a baller.
couldn't agree with you more. what I think woman should look for instead of seeing if a man is successful or not is to look for how humble he is to become successful💯👌 but they don't see that😴
SOME brothers don't understand it's not cool to be over flashy or be showboating all the time , your BE better off keeping it on the down low and just chill on your part and quietly take care of your business.!!! I never understood why brothers need a ten room house and only two people live there or that flashy car that millions of dollars and run around letting everyone in the world know you have that kind of money.!!!???? Good job brother man.!!!
I think this is true for all successful people, regardless of race or gender. It's especially true for self made people who are in economic brackets that are higher than the economic class they grew up in.
^^I'm aware. LOL, the title says it all. But I just personally don't think you said anything specifically unique to Black men. Every single one of these points apply to me as a Black female. And they apply to all types of people who want to keep away leeches.
^^There was one point though that differed along gender/dating. Men have more pressure to hide success while dating because they need to avoid gold diggers. Women have to hide it more because, it might intimidate some men if they think you aren't going to respect their manhood because you seem successful on paper.
Sista I've been around very successful Black women my entire adult life. There's nothing low-key about them. This video is SPECIFIC to MEN. This is a MEN'S channel. There are NUMEROUS channels that cater to the issues faced by Black women. You need to find one of those channels. Any further comments you make on this matter will be deleted.
^^^LOL. Yeah, I can tell you have been raised around women since you are in your feelings to the point that you can't even handle a simple discussion without being emotional and bringing up deletion. Childish. Crazy, ain't it I thought we were the emotional ones. LOL Additionally, no one said that being low key applied to ALL women. Flamboyance is gender neutral hon. How immature if you think women should only listen to channels focused on women. Or vice versa. You can learn something from anyone. Knowledge is power. Some of my biggest mentors are men.
You have to remember how people treated you when you were at the bottom because that's them showing true colors. Leave them alone when you make. Blacks at my job all act like they are too good to speak to each other. They think by disrespecting other blacks it makes them a higher class or some dumb shit like that. I still say hello to any of my folks I see and they enjoy ignoring as if they don't see me. Everyday I go home and read self teaching. Once things change they start to take notice and I'll just watch them pretend and let them think they are getting somewhere and just waste their time.
Rom Wills great topic you got on for sure. Before watching this video I was torn down the middle on what I'll be doing as my finances double and triple. Part of me wanted to be cool and let my folks know I got gifts and be positive but most of my folks don't know me right now. Having success is best when you have folks to share it with but if they have bad intentions it's best to keep it simple. If you get a 100k Benz you can also get it keyed. Everybody want to you to taxi them in the 100k Benz. Now I completely understand why people with money walk in the airport all fast with a hat and glasses. They don't feel like dealing with the fakers and staying low key like you said.
@romwills the person you used for your cover photo I know personally. that is quigi the bearded man founder of Brooklyn Circus clothing and onerace. You picked good example of a successful low key cat.
There is a time for, "...do not let your right hand know what your left hand, is doing..." and, there is a time for, "Let your light, so shine, before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father, in heaven." Discernment.
My team flipped 30 houses and flipping 16 houses right now. Some of do have somewhat flashy cars buts thats it. Years ago I bought my dream car, a Porsche Turbo. Not to show off but because Im a legit car guy and enjoyed the driving experience. At a certain age showing off is pointless. It attracts both good and bad attention.
Listening to this reminds me of the barrel crabs. I had a conversation many years ago with a female about when people get successful they are supposed to help others. I told her no one is obligated to do anything. I reminded her (according to her whe went to church every Sunday) if God shows me one guy becoming successful why can't I do it as well? In the black community we need to stop being barrel crabs and be more like ants. If you see a successful person congradulate them on their success and keep your nose to the grind. Your day will come.
Rom. I've recently started listening to your channel. Great work man! Great work indeed! I don't make 6 figures, but I hold my own, and the pocket watching is real brotha! I stay out in a rural area with no neighbors now because of it. Out of their sight. Out of their mind.
Family is family! Don't spend a fortune on helping them but as long as they are family, you gotta help them. Help them when they are really in need not when they just need to spend it on some flashy.
TO ALL, SOME BLACK MEN DOES NOT WISHES TO LET OTHERS PEOPLE KNOW WHAT THEY HAVE PERIOD. I LIVE IN A SPANISH COMMUNITY AND YOU ALL KNOW THEY DO NOT LIKE BLACK PEOPLE AND I DRESS LIKE A REGULAR PERSON. WHEN I GOT MORE WEALTH . ANYWAY, IS GOOD TO LET PEOPLE DOES NOT KNOW YOUR BANK ACCOUNT. THIS SPANISH WOMAN AT THE BANK GAVE ME HER BUSINESS CARD, I NEVER CALLED HER.
I love a lowkey simply dressed dude... I like guys in beautiful African clothes too... but I'm not into a flashy dude, the flashy loud dude usually is the least powerful in the room. (I'm excluding the entertainment clothing, referencing the average confident guy)
On the dating side, some people are saving themselves for the one, but they say they're experienced, because they feel embarrassed. Some people would be surprised at how many.
I watch a good bit of different content on UA-cam and never felt the urge to subscribe to any. After listening to you, i can't not subscribe. Nice insights!
Ice Cube stayed in the hood after he became successful, because he wanted to prove how "real" he was to the community by not selling out... i.e., "Be True to the Game." After he got robbed a few too many times, he bailed and moved to the snow... and I don't blame him. You can love your people from a distance.
Truth.
Kory Green Then married a white gold digger.

He spoke on that, on the 2nd verse of a song caled "24 with an L". Look it up if you've never heard it, it's on UA-cam
Correct.
Back in the day a sista actually thought I had a problem because I didn't show off what I had. I told her I don't try to impress people I don't know.

The dude just wanted to feel superior to you but when he could not be it hurt him. I have had similar experiences in college.
You're better off keeping them at arms length from the start. Be respectful but formal with them. They are not your friend.
He believed the hype til you showed him different. When something is repeated over and over it sticks in a persons mind, even the negative. And he didn't want you to do better than he..
Lol. That was a good quick story.
I'm worth over 6 figures and just sold my 95 Camry this year.I have a few cars but this was day to day car.Women actually judge your success based on appearance. In the black community people really believe the guy with the biggest car note(nicest car)is the most successful
That's crazy to me. If I get a fancy car it's because I like to drive that car for my own pleasure.
There is nothing sexier than a low-key prosperous man. If I am building something with you, the less interference from haters and coat tail riders... the better. TheonlyChocol8one I love women like you. Y'all really motivate a brother to be the type of man y'all real black women want and deserve
Amoré vibing with my mind....😊😊😊
the main reason to stay a successful, low-key black man is because you will have all types of people coming up to you with their hand out feeling you owe them something even after moments in which those same people dogged you out & shamed you in your endeavors to be successful.
Another reason is being flashy and a show off will earn you the attention of someone wanting to take advantage of you, so it's wise to be low-key and unassuming.
I hate to say this, but if you're a black man that doesn't fit the stereotype then a lot of people including black people will look at you as if you have issues.
That's a twisted reality.
Women claim to want a successful man but don't have a enough sense to really talk with a man about what he does. Aw well, their loss.
When you find that one woman that’s interested in you as a construction worker or car washer,
she might be a keeper
I see what you did there well played lol
Hell yeah!!!
Lowkey is always the best way to be, on the dating aspect. Too many people out here are dating for help, versus a quality relationship.

Marshall Kelly , I agree 100%. You have to see past the beauty. Once you get use to being with attractive women, you learn to sift through the bs.
Well said.
What do you mean harassed or killed? No one has harassed me yet.
IRS, JEALOUS MEN and MANIPULATIVE WOMEN is alot of what comes with BLACK MEN being flamboyant.

My dad makes 6 figures as a truck driver. He intentionally lives below his means so no gold diggers come to him wanting a come up. Also, some women think men who do trades are beneath them when in reality most trades make good money nd job security.
my uncle was a truck driver too. real respect for that job. tough work, long hours, tight deadlines. it's very hard on your body though.
That's true sis.

I feel you.
One more thing I forgot to mention is that I moved out of the hood to she suburbs and they are still in the hood.
I love being low-key. The Less people know me the fewer problems I have. Besides, why would I want everyone knowing me and everything I do
I think this applies to successful men period. There are millionaires and even billionaires riding the trains (in NYC) and dressing down. Whether you're rich or poor, I think people need to focus more on developing their character especially if they are looking for a long-term relationship.

Thank you brotha. That's why I'm here.
Unfortunately true.

the only thing about your wealth that should be visible, is a healthy smile (healthy teeth) and a nourished healthy and fit body (can afford to have free time to exercise, afford healthy food to eat, and afford regular check ups by the doctor).
All other things come secondary to those things.

Yeah be careful these days with that. The women players are out in full force.
I think it's absolutely important to be humble about our accomplishments and economic class in society. Too many young men think they have to flash their wealth and riches to the public. When I was young I fell into that trap set by the mainstream media, especially depicting young African-American men. The military taught me different.
That's what's up.
You are right. I went into a trucking business with my ex. We got back together 35 years later and starting the trucking business. I put up the capital he had his CDL with endorsements.

It is what it is.

Mind you i don't even know their names! i never spoke to them except for 1 because i needed help with something and then 2 hours after u help me u talking shit about me with the next black chick!? I don't talk to back women at work because of shit like this !
I feel you.
it's crazy!
bronzed beauty as a bm I always suspected that bw deal with this issue too. no wonder alot of innocent looking bw always seem pissed in the workforce. it gotta be some hatin going on for them to be like that.
bronzed beauty make sure the dominican isn't lying.
spacely man + yes!!! and hell even the ones that are the same age do the same shit. honestly ALL races of women do this because this is female nature BUT i do think it's worse amongst bw. they will get you fired if they don't like you.
"Low-key" is the way to go for any sensible and successful black man.
You have to in this environment.
On my way to success and I love being lowkey
Don’t floss cuz money looks better when it’s invisible - Dj Quik
Unfortunately many people don't want to be taught. They want a handout.
Rom Wills Some, not all. A lot of Black people are willing to do the work, just don't know how or where to start.
Rom that last example you made when you was talking about test scores.... Man I would've been cool w/ a 77% or 81% especially if I bust my butt for it LOL. No need to compete with other people. Stay in your lane.
That's what I say.
Real talk.
Real wealth moves in silence.
That's it.
"Mmmh who the fuck is Jr?" 😂😂
My grandfather, who owned an oil rig, is the definition of this video. He owns a farm currently, about 40 miles out of Chicago, and literally moves discretely in the shadows. Owns about 4 cars from the 60's, never drives them however, and dresses like a "bum". However, little do people realize, he paid my brother and I's school tuition with his income of this year alone.
That's how a man moves.
"Have more than thou showest,
Speak less than thou knowest."
Just found your page and I am quoting Shakespeare.
Great video, and even though I am not at six figures (yet), I figured out the truth you have here a while back. I hope more men figure this shit out.
And my family is from the Virgin Islands...
Nice women?
You bet!
And be careful...
Yeah I know to be careful with some of those island women.
That's how you gotta roll.
couldn't agree with you more. what I think woman should look for instead of seeing if a man is successful or not is to look for how humble he is to become successful💯👌 but they don't see that😴
Truth. Look for the character of a man who wants to be successful.
Amir Sumpter ... Character doesn't mean shit to most women
Thank you.
I think this is true for all successful people, regardless of race or gender. It's especially true for self made people who are in economic brackets that are higher than the economic class they grew up in.
That's cool but this video is specifically about successful Black men.
Everything is not for everybody to know, plain and simple.
Well said.
I feel you.
Never ever let others know how big your bank account is.
Smart move.
@romwills the person you used for your cover photo I know personally. that is quigi the bearded man founder of Brooklyn Circus clothing and onerace. You picked good example of a successful low key cat.
I got that vibe from the pic. Thanks for letting me know.
Lowkey is always the way to be. You attract the wrong type of ppl and crowds when you arent.
Truth.
There is a time for, "...do not let your right hand know what your left hand, is doing..."
and, there is a time for, "Let your light, so shine, before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father, in heaven." Discernment.
Truth.
successful black men are lowkey for the most part due to the crabs in a bucket mentality that's ever present in the hood
I prefer low key people. They tend to be down to earth and reasonable.
THE JAZZ MUSIC IN THE INTRO WAS FUCKING AWESOME!!!!
Thank you.
Well said.
Rom. I've recently started listening to your channel. Great work man! Great work indeed! I don't make 6 figures, but I hold my own, and the pocket watching is real brotha! I stay out in a rural area with no neighbors now because of it. Out of their sight. Out of their mind.
Gotta do what you gotta do.
Thanks bro!
Sir I just discover your channel. I must say, excellent videos touching on the good subjects. I salute!!!
Thank you.
Family is family! Don't spend a fortune on helping them but as long as they are family, you gotta help them. Help them when they are really in need not when they just need to spend it on some flashy.
That's fair.
That's what's up sis.
On the dating side, some people are saving themselves for the one, but they say they're experienced, because they feel embarrassed. Some people would be surprised at how many.
Truth.
I watch a good bit of different content on UA-cam and never felt the urge to subscribe to any. After listening to you, i can't not subscribe. Nice insights!
Welcome aboard.
Great video you have to be low key too much jealous or envy from family, friends, or just regular associates you deal with .
Exactly bruh.
This video is PEACE .. I can relate to this join 100! Dig it!
Thank you.
Your more than welcome. Thanks to you for bringing such a potent issue to the surface! Indeed.
