Sadguru seems to say that Ramana Maharishi is too exalted to be emulated by anyone. Thats the greatest compliment one could pay to a sage like Ramana. But Ramana himself was simple, accessible to all 24/7 and will be remembered for a very long time to come when all the other spiritual leaders fade into oblivion Such is the glory of Ramana. He is not for any discussion and debate.
Full disclosure: I am a devotee of Sri Ramana Maharshi. My two cents: I believe Sri Ramana Maharshi would disagree with Sadhguru. He took great pains to make this meditation available to all people and encouraged everyone to meditation asking "Who Am I?" You don't need to be on Sri Ramana Maharshi's level to do this meditation. I also believe that he would not care what another guru says or thinks about him. He was immersed in his state of bliss for life.

You are awareness ITSELF which is aware OF and PRIOR to anything that arises in the mind including names, labels, so-called objects and singular distinctions. Self enquiry is the fastest path to realisation. Cling to the flame of being and hold on while continuing with the enquiry. Why more gurus like Sadhguru are not more vocal (and detailed) about the practice is beyond me.
Who Am I ? is not the simple question...But a deep enquiry which will demolish all other thoughts and confront you to the internal silence....Silence and stillness is Self....Abide in that . That what Bhagvan Ramana Maharshi's teaching. All this discussions...preaching is of least important..as it creates more waves of thoughts. Abide in self is the core.

Sadguru I heard the same kind of question when godess Parvathy tells to Maha shiva that her name is Parvathy then shiva tells I am not asking what js your name but who are you. Then she tells she is daughter of xyz. Again shiva tells I am not asking whose daughter you are but who are you. For every answer she tells lord shiva asks who are you. I didn’t completely saw that hara hara Maha dev serial but I was also thinking what do we need to say who we are

sadhguru charges money to be with him , this says it all . if you are looking for Truth and someone proclaims they are a guru and charges money .. turn and run the other way . Ramana never excluded anyone and never said he was a guru . if you are only looking for mental exercise then sadhguru is one of many that will tell you what you want to hear and be happy to take your money .
Though I have respect for sadguru I tend to agree with you. Why would a guru charge money for truth. If you want to make a donation that's your free will.

Because he has his own agenda- that no one understand. No one will ever be liberated from his complex teaching, Ramana’s teaching does and did in the past. Thus he fear of losing the mass herd he is leading to fulfill his own agenda of energy work.
You will never see any controversy or diplomacy to belittle other’s teaching- holiness Dalailama, Ekhart Tolle, Osho from India, Ramana, poromhongsho etc.
In few years time his hypocrisy will come into the light by the time the ship herd will lose it all in the darkness of Sadhguru’s Carishma.
No Sadguru dint belittle Maharshi. He conveyed that Maharshi was great enough to be able allow his body to be damaged ( that's possible for only those who have risen above their body identification , meaning body for such liberated masters is only like an instrument and the self ). But since common people care about the body can not allow body to get wounded n feel no difference. Sadguru has understood Maharishi's level so he can nit give the same idea to an ordinary person like us.

Let us not demean Maharashi by comparing this fellow with HIM. The purpose of any Lifetime. You are not the body and mind you are Eternal Spirit trapped in the body, You have forgotten over many incarnations.
The Matrix is your own bio computer brain machine that keeps You in the illusion of being a physical Being in a physical world via the nervous system and the five senses.
Meditation is putting the body and mind to sleep but staying Awake and Alert inside so you can re experience your Self as Eternal Spirit again.
If you remain in this state after Meditation its called Nirvana, Samadhi The Tao, Self Realization Yogananda, Prodigal Son, Obtaining the Golden Fleece Greek mythology, Heaven within Luke 17-21, Moksha Prodigal Son, Universal Mind, etc etc all the same.
Sadhguru knows exactly the significance of Ramana Maharishi, still he chooses to talk in such a way that people who doesn’t know the depth of Ramana’s teaching will consider futile pursuit.
Sadhguru is being diplomatic as usual in criticising Raman’s teaching so no one can blame.
However it might be that Sadhguru gets threaten by the depth of Ramana’s teaching.
Because Sadhguru teaches some energy work in certain way that no one has every understood & his teaching will never liberate someone to see the truth.
He using herd mass to fulfills is own agenda which is related to energy work, serpent reptilian energy that will creep the whole humanity.
Be aware of his teaching. It’s good to listen to this wise man but could be very dangerous to practice his way of yoga & putting energy in his temple side by side Shiva’s temple he cremated in his Ashram. If not very soon in 10 years time many people will realize this truth and will wake up.

Practice meditation and bathe in the Presence of Ramana Maharshi. In time, the nature of the Self becomes a matter of experience beyond the body/mind. Refer to the many videos explaining the nature of "Who Am I" under the topics: Tat Tvam Asi, and "The Meaning of Aham Brahmasmi", as well as the Mahavakyas. The guest wanted an intellectual answer from Sadhguru and basically he says "experience It for yourself",; but his reply was overly circuitous and inadequate.. It's pure Awareness, or "Consciousness-In-Itself".r "TAT" (ie. THAT Sat-Chit-Ananda). Tat Tvam Asi means "I am That, you are That, all this is that". Existence is Brahman, That Pure Consciousness..
