For Ali just cuz it’s a kids game doesn’t make it easy especially when you’re from a different country/culture the rules can be a bit confusing to know it just a few minutes when your life’s on the line.

It’s worth mentioning, you guys might be using the closed caption subtitles which are said to be more inaccurate than the regular English translation subtitles. So if there’s still episodes you haven’t covered it might be good to switch the subtitles

I used to get one of these honeycombs after school just outside the gate of the school. It was about a dollar and if you can get the shape out, you win a prize like a lazer pointer, markers, notepads, just cheap stuff. The one outside my school had a Christmas tree shape, and yes it is extremely difficult.

I remember playing a similar game in middle school except that we used corn bread and the teachers assigned the shapes. The activity was part of a school festival were classes were awarded points to earn perks for their homeroom based on various games. My class was so far behind the others in points and my homeroom teacher felt bad. After she promised to award my class with a popcorn machine regardless of how much points we were supposed to earn for it, my class and I just ate the corn bread and wiped the crumbs to the floor instead of bothering to cut out our assigned shapes.

I have a theory. at the beginning the man who played with the protagonist slapping him made him choose red or blue and the protagonist chose blue that's why he is a player, if he chose red it was one of the squares, triangles or circles
I think this theory has been proven wrong because in the big screen of episode 1 when they show the contestants getting slapped you can see some of them took red
I think Sang-woo felt guilty about letting Gi-hun take the hardest shape and was going to tell him but then decided against it because he thought if Gi-hun knew, then he'd tell the other members of their team and that would in turn make it possible for other people to overhear and then everyone would end up choosing the easiest shapes and Sang-woo would have more people to worry about in the next game.
The whole show is essentially a microcosm of capitalism. The poor are exploited by the rich and told that if they work hard they'll get all the money they want; but you don't get obscenely rich without hurting people on the way up.
If they do it I hope they make it thin like how it is on the show. Most videos I've seen of people doing it, their cookies were dense af and had no risk of snapping without sufficient force applied.
