Can you use the HDS unit to connect to stereo speakers? My 2015 has a recently fitted 12” HDS Live unit fitted. In doing so the previous owner removed (and then lost) the radio/stereo head unit. So I have the speakers and the HDS unit. Is there a way of connecting the speakers to the hds or do I have to go and buy a new stereo head? Thanks in anticipation a rare Robalo owner in the Uk 👍🏻👍🏻
@@PaulGettysFishing thanks Paul, I really appreciate the response. I sort of thought as much but I wasn’t quite sure, now it will be a trip to the local marine electronics shop. I have to say the HDS unit is cracking, but more than a little complex (I have the online manual - 200+ pages) as I brought the boat back from Brighton Marina to Trafalgar Wharf (well worth a peek on Google Earth) a distance of 50 miles and couldn’t find the link/menu to put a heading bearing on my screen. The previous owner was a hard core fisherman who just used “go to” for a specific set of fishing coordinates and he never had anything pertaining to navigation on the screen - it was fish fish fish. Whilst I’m more leisure i and explorer mode and need bearings to navigate to. Your USA affinity with fishing makes me smile. One day I’ll get to the Florida Keys and a have a few days on the water. Thanks again.
Thanks for the video. For $100... was there something special about your cable? Amazon has a HDMI to USB cable for $10, but it mentions something about power limitations. Also, do you know if Lowrance sells this cable... would be nice to get a cable with the proper screw-down connectors.
This is a wireless streaming device it projects across different networks. Those Amazon products doesn't work i tried most of them for a galaxy. No Lowrance does not sell this product it is made by microsoft.
Paul, I have a Lowrance HDS 9 gen 2 touch at the bow and a HDS 12 Gen2 at the console, they are networked thru etherernet and named each graph. When I go to split 2D sonar windows, both the windows show either the 9HDS or the 12HDS but "not" one on each window. If I'm at the bow, I want to see what's going on in the back transducer and the front transducer at the same time but my graphs won't allow that. Why? I've seen other videos where you can do that but none explain how too
So u can do that, u have to change the source in 1 window and change it in the other window, if u have old software that want allowed in the legacy software, if you have 6.0 you should be good
I bought the same Microsoft HDMI/USB cable you have. Tried it today and nothing comes up on the graph. Tried smart viewing it and wouldn't work either. When you plug yours in the graph. It comes up with Microsoft on the screen. Mine doesn't. I have a galaxy s20 FTE phone

Can you split the screen to show sonar/maps pages along with the HDMI page or the whole HDS 16 screen is occupied by the phone's sharing?
You can but it has to stay proportioned so it doesn't use the space effectively

@@PaulGettysFishing yes! They both have 6.0, I will check again just to make sure
How come it shows my screen small, like almost smaller than the phone screen, rather than filling the 12" screen
You are the man Paul Getty!!!
Awesome, but how do you veiw your phone screen on the Carbon units?
Very keen to know the answer to that one too!
I'll do a video and put everything together and show u what u need to make it work, u just need to make sure u have a phone that is compatible
Brilliant, thanks Paul!!
Running a Samsung Note 9 and really want it to work on a Samsung Tab S2 9.7" tablet, to run Navionics HD mapping 👍
@@kwakazx10r77 see if your device is listed the 2015 version of that tablet had mhl but the newer one doesn't www.mhltech.org/devices.aspx?tid=1
Do you have to download an app on your phone to connect when you hook up this HDMI wire?
No sir

Also, when I click on video. It comes up with camera. Doesn't say source on my hds live 12
Make sure the source is hdmi, and on the phone make sure smart share is on
Doesn't come up with HDMI as a source on the graph when you click video. It says add camera or manage camera. 22.1 is the software I have
How do you get audio to work on this?
Either connect to your speakers via blue tooth or through sonic hub 2
Yeah I need to watch the game😂 seriously though
Great video Paul!
Is it possible to control phone with HDS screen?
no sir
Easy way to watch sports and fish lol . Thanks
You should change your phone pin code 4554 being you showed it on video
Done a while ago, thanks
