The Katyn cemetery was discovered by the Germans in 1943, when these areas were under occupation. It was the Fascists who contributed to the development of the Katyn affair. Many specialists were brought in, exhumations were carefully carried out, and they even led tours of the site for local residents. An unexpected find in the occupied territory gave rise to the emergence of a version of intentional staging, which was to play the role of propaganda against the USSR during the Second World War. This became an important argument in the prosecution of the German side. Especially since there were many Jews on the list of those identified. At the Nuremberg Trials on July 1-3, 1946, the Katyn execution was blamed on Germany and featured in the indictment of the International Tribunal in Nuremberg, section III "War Crimes", on the cruel treatment of prisoners of war and military personnel of other countries. The main organizer of the execution was announced by Friedrich Ahlens, commander of the 537th regiment. He was a witness in the counter-accusation against the USSR. The tribunal did not support the Soviet accusation, and the Katyn episode is absent from the tribunal's verdict. The whole world perceived this as a "silent admission" by the USSR of its guilt. Gorbachev admitted the USSR was responsible for the execution, but this was only one of his acts of selling the USSR and he did much to be considered a traitor in his own country.
In Sevastopol you can find British military cemetery. But not Russian military cemetery in UK!

I suppressed my irritation from the host’s refusal to except simple and, easy to comprehend, true situation. His insistence on the evil description of Russia is typical. But asking the same question again and again ( probably hoping for the “right answer”) he finally had to settle for Larry’s view. How often, we are guilty of excepting, convenient for us, view, without proving it. To have critical mind and except the view, opposite to yours, is not easy. Btw Larry’s patience was superb!
An interviewer is supposed to be critical, therefor he should be pressing for 'truth'. You seem to prefer a conversation in which the stance is, "I like you do you like me too?"

Nice video and narrative by Larry Johnson. I'll say it once, and I'll say it again - this conflict in Ukraine will more than likely end the same way the War in Afghanistan (aka the graveyard of empires) ended 2 years ago on August 15, 2021 when Kabul fell.
If the UK's Crime Minister Boris Johnson did not rush to Turkey to stop this peace deal, maybe this conflict would NOT have dragged-on the way it is now. Its the UK that wants this war to escalate the way it did, and NOBODY in their Warmongering Members in Parliament in London is pushing for a way towards ending this conflict for peace instead.
They want to resurrect the defunct British Empire which ended when the Anglo-Afghan War of May thru August of 1919 ended in a very quick DEFEAT for London, even when they have Afghanistan surrounded on both sides by the British controlled Persia (todays Iran, Iraq and Kuwait after 1935), and the British Raj (todays India & Pakistan after 6/14/1948). Afghanistan is not called the graveyard of empires for nothing !!! Think about it for a second.
Also, Kevin McCarthy was ousted and thrown under the bus by his own Republican Party which became the REPUBLIKUNT's after they aligned themselves with the DEMOCROOKS that are already. There are very few things that should be done by government. One of these is the manufacture of arms. There can be no peace when arms are made by big business that need to keep stock prices rising. Weapons are durable goods that almost everyone avoids using on a large scale (war). The US MIC therefore needs a clearance sale(war) every 10 years. Trump dodged invading Iran and spoke and continues to speak against endless foreign wars. Hence the the need for a hot war to clear weapons stocks, stimulate demand for upgrades and start Cold War 2.0 with the arms race that would come with it.

The only thing I disagree with Larry is the origin of the word Slavs - it has nothing to do with the word slaves. “Slovyane” called their tribes so as they understood each others “slova” (words). They called germanic tribes “nemzi” from “nemoi” (dumb, mute, no words). Please inform Larry.
There two hypothesises regarding the origens. What you wrote is one of them. "Another word the Latin Sclavus gives us is “slave”, and that’s no coincidence: in the 800s, Slavic peoples had been enslaved en masse through war and conquest and became common servants. The Latin term became Frence esclave, and then came into English as “slave”, displacing the native English term for a servant, “thew”."
It is even possible both versions are correct as the the word “Slavyane” appears to be older than the 8th century. In other words, a Slavic word could have come to English the way you described. However, knowing about all of the historical conflicts between Slavs and Germanic tribes I would not be surprised to learn that this coincidental similarity in pronunciations was eagerly promoted in the West. After all, even a genius Lomonosov fought hard with German history professors over the Russian history falsification topic…

It is myopic to believe that peace can be achieved in Ukraine via some kind of "negotiation". Russia's terms in no way shape or form align with the continuation of Ukraine as an independent state. How exactly does negotiation lead to peace: unconditional surrender. The conflict is indeed existential. Neither side can afford to loose, but one side will. Ukraine never had a chance.

In Transnistria, there are literal thousands of tons of weaponry, ammunition, & sundry armaments which may well be taken by Ukraine. Then? Leaving troops & enforced by others, there must be a northeast movement to join with westward pressing troops to lay siege to Kiev. Finale? The taking of ALL Ukraine, border to border, absorbing the nation & assimilating the remaining population as RUSSIANS.
There can be NO peace. Otherwise, Ukraine will be fast-tracked to NATO. Then, U.S. bases will be established, IBM missile silos installed (pointing to Moscow & Beijing), more bioweaponry labs erected, & a repeat of history --- hundreds of billions sent, missile systems, weaponry & ammunition, war machines sent . . . the end goal (as per the 7-year stalling betrayal via Minsk 1-2) of attacking, defeating, & fragmenting Russia.

It's not just defense spending "keeping the economy" powered. US Congress could spend on _anything_ for sale in USD, they monopoly issue the currency, driving demand for the currency by imposing tax liabilities. So they could run *_any jobs program_* they please. It comes down to votes in Congress (or in parliaments in any country). Once the lobbying power of the war industry is recognized for what it is, this sort of twisted sick de facto jobs program can disappear and people can work towards other better things. It all comes down to political will, the lack of it, the corruption of politicians by money and power.
They appeased Hitler when he incorporated Sudetenlands and Austria in the same way they appeased NATO when it incorporated the rest of Eastern Europe!

@@indieanna4764 I don't believe Russia wants Ukraine, just Sevastopol and to keep it's warm water port. Russia wants to protect the ethnic Russians in those Eastern territories and it wants to trade with the West. I believe they will want to see Ukraine succeed by not taking Kiev or Odessa and allowing it to have a port on the Black Sea, provided it remains neutral and presents no threat to the Russian nation. Like the US and Cuba, Russia just don't want missiles parked right on their border. It is absolutely Crazy what NATO tried to do by expanding so far to the East. The UN needs to be a lot fairer and active, and it needs power to negotiate these conflicts.
Such an awful tragedy, both in that beautiful country Ukraine and also in the deeply historic countries along the Eastern Mediterranean. Why anyone in the West could bring themselves to support the atrocities and ethnic cleansing in Gaza is beyond me.
