You really brought out the plaintive sound of "the pipes". (Pipe bands play "Amazing Grace " at the funerals of firefighters and police officers here). From Chicago, U.S.A.
I wish this type of music could be piped (oh-didn’t think of the pipes) into our cities across the nation. I’d bet it would calm a LOT of people and give them reason to reconsider their actions and feel the blessings of God Almighty. Blessed New Year to you all. ❤
Wow, I didn't know an organ could sound like that. This was beautiful. I can only imagine how amazing it was to hear it firsthand in the sanctuary. The sound that pulled people in of the streets. Just amazing. I see now why they destroyed so many organs back in the day. Truly a moving experience.
I didn’t know there were receded pipes on a pipe organ. Learn something new everyday. Amazing Grace on the bagpipes is probably my favorite version of this song, next to the pipe organ. My dad played the pipe organ in church since he was 15 years old, so he knew a few things. He played this song every once in awhile in church, which filled my heart. He died in 2014, going on ten years this year. Thanks for the memories.
Did I enjoy this? Absolutely, I'm almost in tears! My Scottish heritage in me always cries over Amazing Grace on the pipes ... of whichever type! Incredibly Beautiful Sir!!!
I decided to play this for the 226 firefighters that died across the United States. 15 of them were from my state, Virginia. I also sometimes play it when I see the flags at half staff at any fire station, police station, or at any city or county government offices.
The performance is a unique combination of pipe organ and Spanish trumpet, bringing the traditional melody to life. In particular, the integration of bagpipe sounds further enhances the solemnity and emotion of the song, giving listeners deep impression. This creative interpretation is an example of respecting classical music traditions while adding a modern touch, and the video succeeded in reinterpreting the song loved around the world in a new and unique way.
Absoluty superbe interpretation of this tune, Paul, on this magnificent organ, your wonderful registration and your engagement ❤❤❤❤❤ And congratulations for all your compositions in 2023 👍👍👍 Happy New Year, dear Paul, and the best wish for you. Guy
Hey, lieber Paul!
Dear Paul, happy new year!! It’s by God’s grace that we have first of all our Salvation through Jesus and that we can enjoy your beautiful organ music. I have used this arrangement and just love it and is widely appreciated!! Have a healthy, happy and blessed New Year!, Royden
Beautifully played,Paul. Thanks to you from Scotland. I did not realised that the King of Instruments could reproduce bagpipes. My late dad was a church organist and I dont think he knew either!
I Absolutely loved it!! I would like to know where this grad and most wonderful place is that you are playing? I would love to see and hear it in person... I would be extremely grateful!! Thank you....
GRACIAS!!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR! Thank you for all your great music during 2023. I always wished I had learnt the organ instead of the piano. Greetings from South Australia. 🎼🎹😁
Thank you Paul from Alberta Canada 🇨🇦 You caught the bagpipes really well. Sir Rod Stewart would be proud of that as a Scotsman !! Was really interested in watching what your left hand was playing & the whole effect is awesome !!!😊
THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH Paul, listening to you play this especially with the sound of the bagpipes really made me emotional and I'm not ashamed to admit was crying listening to you play it, Amazing Grace was my mum's favourite and she used to love listening to me play it on the organ at church, we had it at her funeral in 2016 and I played it for her as the first hymn (don't ask me how I managed it, I guess I was just on auto pilot) and every time I play it I play it in honour of her so I thank you so very much for this
I would love to hear The Hymn of Joy also named Ode to Joy and also called joyful joyful. What an amazing skill you have. What wonderful work you do. Bravo, bravo.
Mai sentita dall' organo tipo cornamusa 😮😊 Now I translate: This is the "Unhappy seagull" by the composer Guardian of the lighthouse !! Never listened by a pipe-organ like bagpipes 😮😊 .
I love the spanish trumpets. I watched your Canon in D-Major on this organ. Would love if you could implement the trumpets into it if you ever get back to this organ? My fiance was supposed to walk down the isle on this song on a spanish trumpet organ. But she died 2 months before our wedding. Unfortunately that will never happen now obviously, but I would love to hear how it might have sounded.
Where is this organ located? Marcussen organs have such beautiful sounds. Great arrangement of Amazing Grace. A pipe organ with enough good wounding stops can produce an astonishing array of sounds and imitate instruments you you wouldn't imagine coming from a pipe organ. Such is the case here.

This was my grandmother’s favourite song. Whenever she saw a street musician she would always ask them to play Amazing Grace.
I never knew that a bag pipe sound could come from a pipe organ. Well done.
Thank you so much! 😀
Any sound can
A bagpipe is itself a type of organ~ air moving through pipes

What an excellent idea! Oh, mighty God impart your wisdom and strategy into our hearts that we may be light in this dark world and bring you Glory!

This brought tears to my eyes.
Such an eternal sound. It may remind of our eternal home. What a great talent to master such a great instrument. Majestic and eternal.
Blessings to you and those you love in 2024.

Here is one more man who is in tears but without Scottish heritage.
This song is epic, isn't it?
I had my back turned when this video started. When I saw what it was I was amazed. I thought for sure it was bag pipes. You sure fooled me! 😊
Happy New Year!
Happy New Year! 😀
Beautiful and humble, not pretentious~ worshipful and mournful . . . But yet hope!! Your heart is heard through your music, Paul. Well done!

this is in the St Lawrence cathedral in Rotterdam, Netherlands
Naprosto savrseno.❤
Bioutifull sound of Cornemuse
Great job! I’m close enough, I ‘d like to come and visit sometime. Is the organ used each week?
Not as good as the earlier Paul Fey arrangement a couple years ago.
That one was awesome!
Wish I could save this on my phone.
Wonderful! Where is the organ?
Passau, Austria Cathedral
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😍

Paul is this available for purchase ? thanks

I meant to say sounding stops not wounding - that would be a bit much!
