Thanks! Wheels are SSD Challengers, comes with the black beadlock ring, allegedly there are other colors but I’ve not found anything for 2.2 SSDs in stock anywhere. Rubber is Proline Super Swamper TSL SX, 5.4” in G8 compound.
I picked up that one from my LHS, it’s a Traxxas part (9262X) about $50 for the one with working lights. It looks nice, but a metal one would be cool. This one is black plastic under the faux chrome, and it shows now that I’ve rolled it more times than I’m proud to admit.
This isn’t the best video or camera angle to illustrate, but this is about 45 degree. Hard for me to walk on. Loose material, the back slips a little bit here and there. The high trail sits higher than a normal one, so it needs more weight low down than a normal one. But if you do that, it’s pretty planted.
So you first said 45 in front than you said 35 in front and 45 weight oil in the rear so which is it that you run cuz I have a heavy Trail truck see what size of with oil I need and not to buy 16 different weights "hahaha" what part of the country do you crawl thanks a bunch
Yes, I started misspeaking there. It’s 35 in front and 45 in the back. That’s what I’m running here. Before, with the stock GTS shocks I found little difference from 15-35 weight, didn’t have much resolution when changing weights. Now with the Dravtechs, the ones in this video, they have significantly more oil to displace and tighter fitting pistons so I can start to see the truck behavior change as I change oils. Even so, 35vs45 isn’t much different. The reason I went with 45 in the back is bc I noticed it was a little bouncy the last time I was out with 35 and wanted to slow them down. Shock oil preference changes with the weather (literally) and also with driving style, so treat as FYI more than a recommendation. What I do recommend though, if you’re serious, is buying all the oils. It’ll be the least of your costs and your worries when the thought occurs to you “What I really need to do is to slow down those rear shocks!” 😂 NE Ohio.
LOL, oh yes! She sings! Fusion Pro to the rescue. The family complains about it to with the acoustics in my home, apparently the tone “carries well” in the house late at night from the basement to the bedrooms. Funny, I got no grief from the wife when I told her I was gonna spend $150 to quiet it up a bit.
Nice place to crawl!
