1:40 Chicken is a very common/popular meat in southeast Asia, because of the multicultural society. Muslims don't eat pork and Hindus don't eat beef so chicken is a safe choice and "ok by everybody".

Milo is pronounced My-Low. :) Australian invention, but I think its more popular here and they have two formulas, an Australian and a Singapore version.
Fun fact 1: for the drink covers in McDonald's Singapore, the openings are designed to be lifted upwards and over to fit into a groove in the cover. That way, there is unobstructed flow as you are consuming the drink. At the same time, it allows you to enjoy the drink at your preferred interval since the opening can be brought back down to the original position, helping to prevent pests from entering the cup. Fun fact 2: The Milo Drink that you mentioned earlier is actually pronounced as 'Mine Low'. Fun fact 3: You can request for 'No Salt' if you ordering French Fries (I am honestly not sure if US has this option, but I always request for No Salt), as well as 'No Ice' for most of the chilled drinks except Iced Milo. I am not sure if the app allowed for any of such requests.
shocked that y’all didn’t like the milo (my-low) it’s a classic drink in sinagpore that all singaporeans love. but it’s so nice to see people from other countries try our food it’s so satisfying thank u
The whole no straws policy started off around 2019, as it contributed a large percentage of marine litter, so a lot of F&B establishments have phased out straws. (usually milkshakes/cold coffee beverages will have straws provided) The plastic lid is kinda new innovation, but you don't push down the lid, you push it forward, and there's a small notch that keeps it in place. You can pull it back to its original position if you're taking breaks from drinking.
Oh btw the lid on the mcdonalds cup, you are supposed to fold it upwards and outwards and push it into the hole to hold the tab in place, and not push the tab under like in the video :P
Actually, pull the flap for the drink and lock it into a notch cut into the cover :) Its to save the environment, reduce straws. :) Starbucks have went the same way, though they still have straws if you want them (for the frappes for example).

Have u found any of the crullers or patongos yet? Any hawker centre has them n we dip them into coffee (black or milk as u wish) or soya bean milk. Congee stalls will also add half a youtiao in. I think d thai ones r better but ours r still a tasty n affordable breakfast. They r also added to a sweet bean dessert called tau suan. The combo makes a perfect protein, one of the few nutritious yet delicious foods!
Welcome to singapore! Eating chicken nuggets with curry sauce is the de facto standard here. As tomato ketchup is seen as boring and bland :) McDonalds Garlic chill is awesome as well and goes well with fries.
You can get Milo at any hawker centers. You should try Milo Dinosaur which is just iced Milo topped with Milo Powder, or the Milo Godzilla which is iced Milo topped with Milo powder and ice cream.
+1 to this. McDonald's milo in singapore is really diluted. it used to be thicker and sweeter. the hawker center ones are a better representative of what milo should be like.

The curry sauce ONLY goes with the nuggets! It's weird with fries. And you didn't try the McSpicy which is our unofficial national burger!! The McDonalds in Singapore use chicken thigh for most of their meal items, which makes them really juicy and amazing.
Big Mac is the more substantial beef option here, similar to what you get in the States. And if you come around Chinese New Year, the Prosperity Burger is one of their best special menu items with a delicious peppery beef patty.

Thanks for visiting Singapore, my country. Quite a number of places in Singapore do not use straw these days to save the environment / ecosystem to reduce, reuse, recycle waste. Hence, straw is optional. 😊
I get why your doing this but no way would I enter a McDonald's in Singapore with all the street food & hawker centres there. Absolutely no comparison or competition.
