- A playthrough of Readysoft's 1996 animated interactive movie for the Sega Saturn, Brain Dead 13.
Brain Dead 13 is a pretty fantastic 90s homage to the 80s Laserdisc classics like Dragon's Lair and Space Ace. It might not be the work of Don Bluth and co., but it's a pretty fantastic effort. It's colorful, extremely well animated, loaded with hilarious and violent humor, and easily exceeds the standard Saturday morning cartoon in its production values. The Saturn version's video quality is not as high as most of the other versions published on the game, but it looks pretty good for having been smashed onto a single CD, and the audio is a fair amount clearer than the PC's sometimes muffled voices.
When I say violent, though, I mean violent. As in, a Teen rating would have been pretty unlikely back in the day if the review board actually saw all of the content in the game. A true credit to those moral crusaders, though - this title received the K-A rating. You can take a look for yourself at the link below.

A thoroughly awesome interactive movie in the same vein as Dragon's Lair and Space Ace, only far funnier, darker, and more graphic. I wouldn't have minded a sequel to this one!

Dang, that is some smooth animation. The writing was really weird, though.
In an Era that wrote titles like "heavy metal" and the beginning of mutant turtles, this is about right.
A real shame that this underrated gem never got a sequel or any special treatments like hd remasters and Secrect levels. Oh well It's still nice to play It during the summer time late on Halloween Night.
IKR????? I also wish I could see a sequel to this game because imo I think it's WAY better than Dragon's Lair and Space Ace. Don't get me wrong, I love Don Bluth's movies, but I can't say the same for his games.
@@dinakiori1916 I'll admit, playing Dragon's Lair and Space Ace was hard, because you didn't know which buttons to push and at the right time. That one reason why I liked Dragon's Lair 3D, because you have full control. But now, I'm starting to miss Don Bluth's animation. If only he and his animation could come back, then he could do a better job at making animated video games that are easy to play this time.

The green caterpillar with orange hair and green stripes looks just like Lance in the beginning of the cut scene game and the spider almost looked like Fritz which gives off the foreboding about what's going to happen in the game!

@Julio Lopez He's goddamn right. When Lance first arrives, he fixes the damaged machine and after bills for labor(his work) and parts(Fritz' booger) yet the dough is never given. The mad scientist wanted to stiff him the bill from the very start despite needing his help. A cheapskate like that, it's no wonder all his machinations fall to disrepair.

I remember this game! (Though I wasn't born during the 90s)
I was at my point in my little life where I was huge into retro gaming and I find these FMV games like this one and Dragon's Lair! This one stuck with me the most, due to its violent death scenes. (In fact, they gave me a bit of nightmares.) I never played this game, and I really wish there was a version for Android.

Omg, I remember watching my older brother play this but never knew the name of this game. I just remembered it played like a cartoon and remember a death where the guy gets his fingers get cut off.
I guess the point of this cartoon computer game is that Lance, the compuer repair man, is trying to stop an evil dis-embodied scientist brain guy from rying to take over the world.......but he has to get through each room with Dr.N's monsters from trying to hurt, eat, or kill lance.
I can imagine if this became a full-length 3-D Animated Movie!

Yup, those beeps indicate the button inputs. A high pitched one means it was accepted, and a low pitched one means you either are hitting the wrong button or that your timing is wrong.

Those are two sister witches. Simply they have their sections mirrored and you have to use the opposite directions. You can notice they are different colored.

This is missing a couple of optional sequences, off the top of my head it is missing the Chef Gator, the giant centipede, and Yeti sequences.
Which sequence you'd get would depend on what direction you were coming from when entering rooms.
The PS version is actually the best version, even better than the original PC version.
This is because it came on 2 CDs instead of just one, and as a result had better video quality. 3DO players also got the same version.
CDi is the middle ground, as it had better video compression, but noticeably worse load times as a result.

Oh man I love this game, I was one of the only people I knew that had this game and knew why this game didn’t do well and the issue was that they had a programming problem for the console releases that made the game very difficult to boot up and play, at least with the version of the PlayStation 1 version that I had. The reason I know about this is that I am related to two of the people who worked on it but I am not going to say who for personal reasons. The only thing that I will say is that you have to use your “Head” to figure out how one of them
