HEY Y’ALL! Merina is my name and Mobile Home Livin’ is my thang! Around here I’m known for mobile home makeovers and large family mobile home livin’! I used to do mobile home livin’ in a trailer park in Tennessee. We’ve set out on a new journey and bought our dream home - a double wide mobile home on some acreage in the hills of Tennessee! I'm asking y'all to please pray for me. I've been suffering from a severe sinus infection that's been affecting my vision in my left eye for over 2 weeks now. I'm on all kinds of antibiotics for it. I now have a wisdom tooth trying to pop through and can't get into the dentist till next month unless they have a cancelation. I'm in some serious pain. Thank you in advance. God Bless.

Bookcase suggestion. Get another one that is deep enough to hold your bins and put it between the two you have. That will make it look like one unit.

Those cows are called Highland Cows. They are from Scotland. Pronounced heelan coo! I lived in Scotland for three years in the mid seventies.
My guess is .. Jeffreee Star has a big Yak farm now.. so yaks are a trendy bull/cow now.

Hey chica, as far as wondering on your "style," I read an idea years ago as a design major that I like to share. The concept is basically, that whatever YOU like will mostly go together. Subconciously, we all have a style and the items we graviate towards mostly fit inside that style. Your style isn't markedly farmhouse, or mordern, or boho, - it's YOU! So, if you see something you like from your core, don't worry about the "style." 90% of the time, it will work with your other core-love items. Happy decorating!
Those white shelves are so cute but too small for that area. Use them somewhere else (like make a personal library nook in your other living room)and get Shane to build you a taller open shelf for that area. Or he could install some wall long shelves That way he can make them deeper for your baskets, wider to fill the space, and taller because your ceilings are nice and tall!

Everything looks beautiful, but that’s an Excellent idea to use those shelves in the kids room and have Shane build her the right dimension bookcases she needs because these baskets once they have more heavier items in them might tip off.

I’m 58 at a stage in life I can afford to shop anywhere I want to. For things like baskets and picture frames I go to second hand shops. Part of the fun to me is the hunt. Lol

Lisa, i am exactly the same. I love the thrill of the hunt. One thing about thrifting that i love is you can find unique pieces that arz not in everyone else's houses.
Me too. I'm 59. I do the same. Plus the stuff you can get at thrift shops are top notch quality made. If you get the right things. Where a lot of this stuff now is built on cardboard and particle board and doesn't last. Love me a thrift day.
Please attach the bookcases to the wall because with the weight of books on the over hang they could fall forward on someone , great video ❤🇬🇧 xx

Crazy thought. Take the backs off the bookcases, build the same size frame and shelves to bump it out for double depth and just attach together with trim.

Your husband could build out the shelves with plywood, trimming the edges with molding. I'd do just the shelf directly above the doors. This would have the benefit of making the shelves look like a built-in and making them more solid. The plywood would be 1/2" and cut out so the vertical parts of the shelves would slot into it. He could also do the outer part of the shelves on either end of the units. This would cover up the screw ends and you could use screws to make the shelves flush with the wall.
It's because the one basket was in the store longer. They go buy the date THEY purchased it and reduce the price accordingly. 😊❤
Bookshelf suggestion. Take off backing where shelves are. Pull out shelves so bins are where you want them. Have your master carpenter - that's Shane btw😅 make shelves look like a built in with the spare wood you all have.

Hobby Lobby will (should) give you the item at the lower price if you are buying items at different prices. Always ask the clerk. It is because of inventory. The lower price is the older inventory.
I was going to comment this exact same thing. I used to work in a store and this applies pretty much everywhere. I would have definitely did this if I had noticed 😅.
I shopped at Hobby Lobby last week finding this same exact thing with priced different and they gave me the lowest price for both items I got. But they probably won’t if it’s not mentioned to them, maybe most employees don’t even know it, 🤷♀️ who knows. It’s from resets is why the prices are different.
I’m very fortunate my HL clerks are on the ball and they are good about checking the prices if I have multiple items (same) with different prices. They even say that they are going to give me the items at the lower price. 😊😊
You speak of your husband the same way i speak of mine. I tear up whenever i start talking about him. He is the single most noble, decent, capable, kind person I've ever known. And justvlike yours, he's been gracious, kind and protective of me even when i didnt deserve it. I wish everyone felt like this about their spouse. Be sure to anchor bookcases to wall. Don’t want one to topple over on kiddos. Shane get busy and craft a center bookcase like others have suggested. You can do it!

Absolutely gorgeous outcome! Someone suggested a sofa table behind the sofa. Think that’s a great idea! What if you move your sofa just a little closer to the fireplace and have Shane build you a narrow desk that accommodates two stools or chairs and place it behind the sofa. That would give your kiddos some home schooling space. Rotate the type of task you have them working on in that spot. If you use your dining room for school work maybe consider moving the shelves into the other living room with a small desk next to or in between the two shelves. Also like the idea of making them deeper by adding wider side panels. Or just have Shane build you some, to the exact size you want. Just love how everyone has handy-man projects ready for Shane to tackle. Can’t wait to see what room you make over next!
They have French entry doors and if the sofa was closer to the tv (as they had it when they were deciding) I think it may block the doors when opening them a little bit, you know? Plus they have the huge tv, maybe the sofa should be further back away from the tv screen.

You two are the cutest couple and you get along so well I don’t ever see you yelling, or raising your voice at each other. He’s more quiet and you’re just a little bit more and animated. You are doing a fantastic job everything matches so nicely it’s going to be so beautiful when you get it finished I love that white rug. I love to mix styles. I don’t like it all the same. I like BoHo with a little bit of contemporary with a little bit of antique I like it mixed and if you’d like it, you should use it.

Love how your room turned out. Especially loving that soft green! As far as the Hobby Lobby pricing goes. The $10.99 basket is likely older inventory and the $14.99 is likely newer and reflecting a price increase similar to EVERYTHING else. The difference is Hobby Lobby has the price on the ITEM, not the shelf, which makes it harder for them to just adjust it with inflation and such.

spray the rug down with scotch guard. spray it really good and you will be able to get it clean. i use scotch gard on my new shoes and rugs. my white shoes always come out just as clean as i bought them and my rugs dont stain. 👍👍👍. cheap to do as well
It looks SO good! Scotchguard might help protect your new rug, but if you shampoo it, then make sure to reapply the scotchguard. I can’t wait for the next project! 🖤

Merina, I want to share my testimony about my husband, you talking about Shane reminds me so much of us. He was an alcoholic for years and I almost left several times but God would always tell me to stay. One day nearly 3 years ago he (hubs) said,”I’m never drinking again,” he had never said that! Going on three years later he has kept his word, he gives the glory to God, he didn’t go to rehab nor will he claim he did it himself, he always says it was God. He is active in our church now, he’s on the maintenance committee and even a Knights of Colombus (we’re Catholic but when people say bad things about that I say, well isn’t all our goals to get to Heaven. If you can’t accept me here how will you up there? lol) he has also grown in himself and his confidence. He treats me like a precious jewel. My Daddy died 3 years ago and he is SO good to my Mommy, they are big buddies and he really helps her. His testimony isn’t mine to share but this side of it is mine and I wanted to share, Jesus is a healer and a miracle worker!!!!
purchase a used wooden shelf or hutch ,paint it and use it for your school supplies. Love your make over.
Marina, the shelves don't look bad. It is, like you said, functional. When I taught, I usually had my students working in groups. To speed the paper process, I gave each student a folder. All the papers for that day, were in the folders, as they completed their assignments, they put them in their folder. So, when I graded them, the papers stayed in it me place. I learned early in my career to handle paper once....not really once, but it does cut down on time spent handling it.

Looks great, I agree with the jillion other commenters, use these for the kiddos room and order or have Shane build exactly what you need. The way the bins hang over will forever bug you. You have done such a beautiful job on that room, get the right thing. Custom shelves by Shane in the same stain as your beams would look fantastic. Also, I know you love your jammie’s but you look great when you get dressed. This navy blue outfit is adorable on you.

27:39 add a thin piece of wood (paint to match the bookshelf) to the bottom of the shelf that you put the white and green boxes on that are the size of those boxes so that the wood “over hangs” the actual shelf, but fits under your boxes. You could also do that to the rest of the shelf’s. Just attach with a couple finish nails or glue. I hope that makes sense.
You should look into moving the sofa up and adding a small round table for homeschooling.

Just went to hobby lobby this week and yes the little metal shelves I was buying was $20 in the front and I found the same shelf for $10 in the back. Half the price. I also found a crocheted plant hanger for half price on a different isle. It was in the garden decor isle instead of the main isle.

I would put a globe or hang a map on top of the homeschool shelves and maybe some reference books--practical and decor at the same time. The room is just beautiful!
How about a long basket with really nice fake ivy plant hanging down the sides!! It will look fresh and cheery while not being like a huge cost and statement piece. It will be tranquil❤❤❤

At my Hobby Lobby they will give you the lowest price on all the like items if you just bring it to their attention. I was told the new stock/inventory is coming in at a lower price point which is ultimately a good thing. Wish they wouldn't put the higher priced item in front but understand that old stock always goes in front in retail.❤
FYI, ..Hobby Lobby, was sold months ago. The seling stipulation was that they remain closed on Sundays

Marina when you buy a "book" case, generally the shelves are just wide enough to accommodate books. Maybe you should have looked at open shelf cabinet. When home school is done, will be a nice decor cabinet.😊 You can buy wood floor vents that blend in with your floor. The room is a beautiful transformation, good job. ❤🙂👍
Hobby Lobby isn't trying to cheat anyone. I used to be an inventory manager, and what is happening is price increase on goods coming in. The employee that is stocking the shelf is not rotating the stock. They SHOULD pull out all the items in that space, then put the new stock behind and replace the old stock in front.

Maybe you could use those bookcases for the time being and keep an eye out for something deeper that would work better for you. You could always use the bookcases in another area of your home later, or see if they'd work in the kid's rooms for their books or collections.

Great Job....looks so nice and comfortable. A way to keep the carpet clean is to keep that doorway locked so that your family enters in the other door instead.

I used plastic rug covers on top of my cream rugs for my high traffic areas. And I sprayed them with Scott guard.

I strongly suggest going to lowes or home depot and getting a golden pothos for the top of the home school shelf. Its a very low maintenance, trailing, house plant. Water it when you can feel a weight difference in the pot. And it would also add to the boho touches.
I honestly love the book shelf's I would extend out some wood length wide across connected on the second and third row of the bookcase that way you can keep the baskets out like you want them ❤
