- This is a fairly old video of my great-nephews and their friends. They stayed with me for a short while after enjoying an exciting week at one of our lovely NC beaches. It was a very hot time of the year but these young men wanted to shoot and therefore, I accommodated. Hey, it's always nice to have young men and women learn the art of weaponry and precision. Thanks for watching as these young men throw some lead down range. Quite a few rounds were spent.
You'll have to excuse my old, antiquated methodology in running the firing line. I'm rusty as hell with line-commands but not rusty when it comes to safety, respect, and mastery of the firing arm. Old line-commands from back in my days on the firing line. I know I messed up line commands but the boys had fun shooting and I enjoyed having them fire their weapons. These were old firing line commands from back in the early 70's when I was in bootcamp.
Remember, strict discipline on the line and respect for weapons. This ain't no game, folks! Join me as we have some fun.

Thanks for tuning in, Moo. These young men enjoyed the shooting session and I tried to impart some of the basic safety guidelines to further their shooting experience. Hey there John. I too love the 1911 platform. Because of that, I have several 1911 style 45 caliber pistols made by different manufacturers. The boys enjoyed the shooting experience and they're now grown and headed down their own paths that life leads them. My older nephew (red T-shirt) graduated from college and is now in U.S.Army Nat'l Guard Artillery training while his younger brother (dark blue T-shirt) will soon complete his college years then head to the U.S. Navy or U.S. Coast Guard (undecided yet). They both have refined their shooting skills and will be more prepared to use what they've learned from their Ole Uncle Don. I am so proud of these young men and thankful to God for allowing me to be a small part of their lives. Hahaha, that's funny, Dubs. I've done the same thing with several folks whom I'm Subbed and I missed a lot of vids they published. Hey Dubs, since this video, each of these young lads graduated from high school, finished college, and are now members of the U.S. military. Guess what, they're very proficient in firing their weapons. You can rest assure, these young men are NOT followers of this WOKE bullcrap that's going on today in every institution. Sure was Andy. I'd like to see the boys again to see how they're doing. Since this video, my one nephew( in red T-shirt) graduated from college and is now a 2ndLt in the U. S. Army while his younger brother (dark blue T-shirt) graduates in about 2 years to then serve in the U. S. Navy or U. S. Coast Guard (he hasn't quite determined which branch he'll serve but both young men are doing well and I'll have some new shooting challenges once they come to visit and wwe'll see how their shoot skills have become. Hello Joseph. We did have fun. I hope to do it sometime again of the boys get a chance to come and see their old uncle. They've grown so fast and are venturing into their own paths. Thanks for watching and your kind words, Gary. We definitely had fun shooting and you're absolutely correct. Safety is paramount. I built a shooting area several months ago. It's a sturdy rifle/pistol backstop built to withstand some heavy caliber rounds. I can't wait to throw some lead down range at the new backstop. Again, thank you for your support. I am a huge fan of the .45 Long Colt / .410 as a home defense weapon. A lot of trauma without taking out multiple walls in multiple homes. Accuracy is less of an issue for the nervous shooter too.
My wife goes on animal neglect / abuse cases with the sheriff. I wanted her to get her c.c.p. and her own carry weapon. Cabellas had a .380 Ruger on sale. It looked to me that you might as well throw that weapon at the target. We started looking at others and quickly progressed into the $6-$700 range. The young guy assisting us asked me if I had considered a revolver. Good choice 👍🏻
A revolver has a distinct advantage of a semi auto loader. Any kind of mis fire, you just pull that trigger again and the next one will most likely do it’s duty.
Yep Gary, you're right. I love the revolver for that very reason. I started my wife with a Taurus 22 LR/ 22 Mag revolver. She's pretty effficient with the pistol. I had her fire one of my .45 semi auto pistols and the recoil was too much so I'll probably get her another revolver (.38 caliber). I had to teach & remind her as well as my youngest son NOT to grip a revolver the same as a semi-auto pistol b/c they can easily lose fingers from side-blast. With weapons, you only need make a mistake once to end a happy life. Always good chatting with you, brother. Take it easy and Semper Fi. Don 👍🏽🤠 12/4/22

Hey there Devil-dog. I think you probaly remember some of the old commands. I know I messed the commands up but heck, it's been 22 years since retiring the uniform and I think I've forgotten more than some of these young cats may learn in their lifetime. Hope you and family are doing well. I guess you're prepping machinerary for winter chores. It gets a bit more cumbersome when the snow flurries start falling. Man, that was a nice auction you attended in your last video. There was a ton of nice equipment available for sale. Thanks Pond Acres. We bust a lot of caps around here. Now when we get the grown ups on line, honing in on the bull is a bit more obvious. All who come to my house gets to throw lead down range. Stacie, thanks for stopping by and I do hope that you and Steve get an opportunity to go to the range and enjoy some range time which is necessary (atleast, in my thinking) to stay proficient and refamiliarize yourself with weaponry. Strangely enough, some weaponry that once seemed effortless to operate later became cumbersome to operate due to different things that occurred in my life. Since my stroke, I've had to modify almost everything I do on the land to be as effective as once was. I move a bit more slowly and precisely b/c some of the simplest of things have become a slight challenge but still fun to do. @@staciestoltz5808 Stacie, my stroke was on 8 May 2020. I'm on tons of drugs (of course doctors want everyone dependenet on their drugs, right) I still have a lazy left leg and left arm BUT I keep working manually on the land to make my left leg and arm get one hell of a workout. I go to the doctor every 3 months. Now that he's got me doped-up right where he wants me, I've had no new drugs added. Hell, all my years in the Corps, I never took asprin for headaches, rarely would I get sick or even catch a cold. I'd just run 3 to 5 miles and literally burn an infection out of my system. Now that I'm fat, dumb, and older, all kinds of crap seemed to have happened to me 😂. Anyways, I won't let a stroke get me down unless it takes me out.

Hello Don. Me and my husband would like be there with you all ! we like to shoot under tagrets. You have beautiful guns. Here it's not the same with the authorisations. My husband can have guns because he is a hunter and he have the permission. Me I don't. So I train in fun fair and I love it a lot.
Hello Sylve. I understand that you have restrictions owning and using firearms but fortunately, our Constitution authorizes citizens to possess and bear arms providing we abide by the law. Each individual state, has their unique ordnances/statutes that gives specific guidlines in which their citizens may implement the usage of their weaponry. Law abiding citizens adhere to those laws but there is a push to eliminate our Constitutionl rights to bear arms which only seems to signal governments' attempt to gain complete control of our rights. We will NOT give into those whims of the far left therefore, we will bear arms. Our nation's founders had the foresight to see that government could at times, overstep their authority to gain complete control of citzens' rights which is a form of tyrany. Therefore, to maintain a free government, we do not and will not submit to the whims of a few just to appease them. We live in a free nation and will not be tread upon. Fortunately, I grew up in a small country town using guns to hunt all my life and want that same freedom for my grandchildren. I am so glad that you enjoy training and shooting your weapns. Ha, well you're more than welcome to come shoot. 😄. I was out yesterday afternoon for about 2 hours sghting in a new scope for my Winchester Model 205 22 long rifle. I built a nice shooting range for shooting pistols and rifles back in July. Now I am able to shoot a little over 250 yards but I haven't gotten all my rifles sighted in yet. The furthest I will attempt to shoot my pistols is 15 yards. I'm now focused on my rifles so that I can reach out and touch, if necessary. Have a fine week Cristina and also wishing you a prosperous new year. Let's hope 2023 is much better than what we've had in 2022 under this current administration.
