Another day with my fav sailing channel Sailing into Freedom. WHAT ? Wow, I missed this big news, Lisa will be back on Sailing into Freedom OH my GOSH!! I love LISA 🥰😇 Lisa Lisa Lisa 🥰
Will be good seeing Lisa again she was bloody good value, keeping you on your toes lol. Great to see the build advancing. Thank you for the content. Good tea & coffee too 😁
Excited that Lisa is coming back. Such a perfect fit. Sweet, well-spoken, but gutsy when she needs to be. Great compliment as crew for the new catamaran.
It's interesting that, of all the crew you've had over the years, Lisa is the only one that people are still talking about. I love your videos Plukky. I really want to see you back on the water. It would be nice if Lisa was there with you too.
I don't want to disparage any of the crew they were all great and I've gotten attached to numerous of them. It's just that there was some special chemistry with Lisa. I've tried ta figure it out but haven't succeeded.
Plucky, gives me such satisfaction to see you achieving your dream! I felt horrible since you lost Long Reef now, years later, you will soon have an even better cat! Such a great situation where you are able to be on the floor every day during construction. Something that would never be allowed in the U.S.! And your great supporters, 12% taking the extra second to click the like button. Other channels are lucky to get 3%. Everything's coming together!!!
Mr Richard Duerk seams the right person at the right time older but trouble shoot and able to find out things that may go wrong plus fully qualified not sure about the Bikini idea though. Now need young men and women not afraid to learn and be able to now what to do and when including any emergency like another boat in real trouble knowing what to do to help in any emergency. No going overboard or Plucky will glue feet to the boat maybe?
How wonderful, Lisa will be joining you once again. That is the best outcome of your build so far! PS There is no Peplink in OZ. Hangin there Epic project with on epic adventure unfolding. I hope you can get pineapples in Vietnam? SV Skoiern IV
Those wedges and dogs work together for straightening walls and are temporary tacked on then hammered off.. His dog template has all angles up, down, in, out.. nicely done worker man..
Great sponsor Peter! let's hope many others will follow the coming months. Must agree that i was a bit nervous to see my video next but will show patience! 😂
Peter, do some studies on, "Alum." Weld quality", I've noticed some "Flaws", "Anomalies", just looking at your videos, No.1) "Fillet-welds" cold-lap, not "tied-in" good. No.2) Putting a "Flat-weld" in a hull seam, then grinding most of it off? Does that weld have "Full Penetration" from both sides? 🤔
So glad your getting some Help from the best Like Peplink it seams to be the best of the best for extreme conditions what a great choice. I wish I could help but at this time have to look after my self.
Dammit, Plukky! I did it again..watched that first weld, with no goggles.. Well..another damn cold beer again. Congrats on Peplink, I hafta say! Hope it provides the service you dearly need out there. Cheers, again, from Canada..🇨🇦😃
I've been watching your channel from the beginning. I have a sailing channel inspired partly by you. After 6 years and 120 videos, only now am I seeing success. 14k views in one day. Mate just tell me what I can do!? As far as I'm concerned Plucky is a legend in the sailing community.. what can I do to help?
This is great, Plukky. It is real exciting seein the skin.going on the hulls. Now its possible to see the boat better,. Even half done I can imaging the boat's personality starting to form as well. Pease and love, Pal💙🤘 Pineapple storages? √
Good to see it's commin' together for you Plukk. The guys are really moving on the construction. Very impressive. Congratulations to Peplink for stepping up, aligning with and supporting our mate Plukky in an Adventure we're all enjoying to watch unfold. We've all been behind Plukky for quite a while now and I believe we're all totally in awe of his single minded dedication to fulfilment of this fantastic project. Fair winds.
Yay Plucky, We did wonder. Actually were somewhat worried. Looks like you have it covered. There are many out there with all the romantic crap about the life. It is good that you keep it real. They (won't mention the name) is copying your idea. Thats what happens when your a leader. Excellent
Richard is very impressive, he's done a lot and has a lot of experience. If I were to do it, I'm very green in many areas. I'm a technologist in that I know radio and electronics. So, modern AIS and VHF cabling, and networking may be somewhat easy for me. I am a ham radio operator, vhf uhf hf and digital. I managed a satellite yard at a TV station. I've studied the hell out of modern sailing and own PV/LIPO systems. I make batteries, and like those best because I then know what is in them and can replace necessary components/ test the batteries and systems. But, I've only been on the water for short trips in Humboldt Bay and in the Pacific near there. I've tried to absorb as much about rigging/autopilots/shaft and proppellers/ steering / hull issues and zincs/ electric issues with motors / . From what I know of the Cell/Battery/Lipo issues world wide I'd think it would be best to completely secure all that equipment direct from the factories (China) and not try to export them . The times of shipping and those issues are terrible right now. They all come from asia but must be sourced directly (communication directly with factories) or there will be hang ups. Its a quickly changing market worldwide with , apparently, the sources in China.
I have one vital ability that you do absolutely need and that is as ballast. 185 pounds of ballast that can move around on command to suit the need at a moments notice. Requirements in food and beverage and a comfortable bunk along with entertainment and one mermaid.
So, are we counting the whole "fossil fuel free" part after the manufacturing of all the parts, materials, and boat? I see quite a large carbon foot print on those stands. Also, love the channel. I even watch all the ads for you (no skipping).
A lot of "tack weld" going on there ... How much full penetration and full seem welding is going on between the hull plating and stringers/ribs? AWSOME CHANNEL!!! FOLLOWED FROM THE BEGINNING!!!~ FAIR WINDS
I don't want to disparage any of the crew they were all great and I've gotten attached to numerous of them. Steph, Katrina, Gigi. It's just that there was some special chemistry with Lisa. I've tried ta figure it out but haven't succeeded.
will each of the longitudinals be welded continuously on both sides to the hull plate or will they just be spot welded? So much work going in to it! Phil

will each of the longitudinals be welded continuously on both sides to the hull plate or will they just be spot welded? So much work going in to it! Phil
Alternate welding with a gap for flexibility
I wonder if it's a fixed price to build, or an estimate that gets adjusted (probably up) at the end.
