KingsBladeUSA, that was kinda smokin'. Enjoyed it very much. Just learning to play the tune, and I was looking for an acoustic cover to play along with. Added it to my play list, so I can do so. Thanks for posting this.
I keep watching this, you have a great feel for the song. When you play the intro, you start with an A on the fifth fret, I assume the next chord is E, But I can’t figure out why, can you tell me how your playing that chord. I can’t quite see what your doing. My version is coming along though 😁
Yes it is an Emaj chord using the "c shape" but without the low e note so it is a bit of an inversion. It's derived from the "caged system". Here is a link to the chord, but don't use your pinky. Hope this helps: ua-cam.com/video/dNvPxNxXhWs/v-deo.html
Thanks! No, I just sometimes use headphones to help me hear myself sing when I play acoustic, but I have to wear headphones to sing and play with my electric guitar or I will get feedback from the mic. Whenever I sing I typically use headphones to make sure my vocals are coming through the recording evenly, clear and strong. If I don't use headphones, often I will have to go back and edit the vocal track due to volume decreases from moving away from the mic. It always helps to be able to "hear yourself sing" in order to "hit the notes" and sing with consistent volume. Another reason is that I can turn up the vocals so that I don't force myself to sing harder that I need. This keeps the vocal chords relaxed and unstressed. Trust me, it makes everything easier to hear when performing. I hope that answers your question.
Ok, totally bad ass, and it helped a lot. Your timing, the rests were spot for on, if you don’t mind another question, if You played a second take, how close would It be to first. I guess I’m asking how much of that rhythm your just letting happen- if that makes sense. Really enjoyed that, thanks for taking the time to help. I’ve always wanted to play and sing that song and it might finally be in reach. Cheers.
Well, what happens is that you learn the music inside out and then the vocals inside out and then is just happens. I have been playing and singing since day one! Gotta Love Skynyrd. You shoud go to my home page and type skynyrd in the search box and you will find many songs. Keep Rockin!
Thank you, your acoustic just has such an incredible tight clean sound, I play through a fishman loudbox mini with no pedals, just the amp but I would really love to come close to the beautiful sounds you have. Not sure what acoustic you are playing, can't really see the name. I have an Epiphone EJ200

Hey Brother, would you mind telling me what you were hearing in your headphones?
A A Amazing..!!
Thanks!!
Very good! So are you listening to the original track in those headphones as you sing and play?

like the way you played it. Will have to try and fiqure out your intro

yes, extra mojo on the intro and sprinkled throughout the song.

I love the sound of the acoustic, may I ask what your playing through? Amp, Pedals, Board, Etc...
Thanks. Straight into Guitar Rig Pro 5 as a plug in for Studio One with all kinds of audio engineering stuff on top. Not an easy question to answer.
