This was actually very helpful. CarX is brutal with its lack of explanation. I really loved that the "tutorial" was just putting me in a stage - no explanation, no "here's what you need to try" - just, "here's a place to drift." Also, the assist vs. no assist is insane. Assist on - can't accelerate WITHOUT drifting. Assist off - barely drift taking the corner at 50. Really? There has to be a happy medium in there somewhere! And with the opening track tutorial - why does it not let me keep going? Once I come to a complete stop, I have to reset and start over. Is there something I'm missing? I'll keep trying, but I was shocked how difficult the game was and how it basically just tosses you in and says, "Here's a stage built for it, so DRIFT!"
I’m very glade this was helpful! I’m not to sure why it doesn’t let you keep going, but at the start it can definitely be pretty hard because the car they give you isn’t really even tuned properly so it makes it a lot more difficult
got the game a week ago,first play and boom i drift like insane,i legit thought is drifting this easy,fast forward to now, i just found out that i dint turn off the steering assist :(,now i only spin like crazy lol 😂😂😂
That’s mostly personal preference, if you have fun with auto clutch then you can keep it on but having a clutch for drifting helps a lot with clutch kicks and when your over rotating, moral of the story maybe try it without it for a bit just to see how it is :)

I’m glade the video helped! try letting the wheel slide back when transitioning and if your spinning out a lot, before spinning out put the clutch in to kill the power to the car. I hope this helps!
@@UntitledGaming9 I just found out that the G29 (that I had) was the main problem. If I let go of the wheel, it didn't do anything (did not spin or anything, might have been a fault or something), and I had to manually turn and spin it which was very hard! I just returned the G29 and ordered a belt driver wheel (Thrustmaster T300) and pray that it will be easier xD Good tip about the clutch right there!

Which map is easy for a completely new person to get in and practice doughnuts? I have the parking garage area but it doesn't look as open to do doughnuts as where you are doing them.
The video was on East Touge, which is a pretty good map. It’s got some wide open spots and once you get a little more comfortable there’s good corners to try!
I have hundreds of hours on controller. I tried wheel and I literally just kept spinning out as soon as the car got over 2k RPM. Tried every setting but didn’t work
Wheel is a lot different than controller, as soon as those wheels start spinning let the wheel spin on its own and as soon as you think it’s at the right place grab and and make slight adjustments from there. I also tell everyone to focus a lot on throttle control too, that’s just as important!
My wheel knocks and it like hits back and forth, it's so aggressive but with lower force feedback it doesn't turn, if force feedback is to high it does the knocking and the aggressive jerking back and forth

Make sure everything is plugged in properly, if one of the power cables isn’t plugged in fully the wheel won’t get enough power for force feedback, I hope this helped!
Try going to a corner and stopping before you go into it, do a little clutch kick into it and let that wheel slide, catch it when you feel is right and then from there feather the throttle and do little adjustments with the wheel. It might seem really annoying but just practice that, you’ll start seeing progress even if it doesn’t seem like it. I hope this helped!
I watched this. I tried it. I've spent the last 2 hours trying to get it. I can't stop it from spinning out. Clearly I'm doing something wrong. This game with a steering wheel makes me contemplate cutting myself. Or smashing my steering wheel and throwing the PoS in the bin. It's become so damn demoralising.

That sounds likes it’s not fully connected/setup I think. I had that problem too, it acts like you’re not in a game. I’d just check all of your cables, make sure they’re fully connected and make sure that switch on top of the wheel is set to ps4
Try grabbing the wheel a little more when stopping the drift to keep it straight, and if you feel the car wanting to spin out try putting the clutch in to kill the power so it doesn’t spin out as much, I hope this helped!
For the most part I’d say when you grab the wheel to early that’s not to bad, if you see the car wanting to straighten out adjust the wheel to which ever way will give you more angle as well as a clutch kick to give it a little bit more power. Now for the spinning out part if you find yourself spinning out a lot I’d suggest as soon as you see it wanting to spin put the clutch in, that’ll help cut the power to the wheels and should help. Most the time as soon as you catch the wheel you got to be ready to do whatever adjustments the car needs in the moment. Hope this helps!

I don’t really have specific wheel settings on, but I could definitely check them out when I get back home and let you know if there’s anything big changes!
Whenever you’re about to spin out try putting the clutch in to kill the power to the car, and a huge part of it is throttle control, it doesn’t matter as much how fast your doing them. You have to feather the throttle to find that perfect point. I hope this helped!

I swear them G29’s have so many problems 😂 the T300 should treat you a lot better!
Left foot brake lightly to slow the transition speed then pour power back on slowly or pull some caster out

It takes time, you have to be really patient with it, just be light with the throttle keep trying. You’ll find what works for you!

For the most part I’d say when you grab the wheel to early that’s not to bad, if you see the car wanting to straighten out adjust the wheel to which ever way will give you more angle as well as a clutch kick to give it a little bit more power. Now for the spinning out part if you find yourself spinning out a lot I’d suggest as soon as you see it wanting to spin put the clutch in, that’ll help cut the power to the wheels and should help.
Most the time as soon as you catch the wheel you got to be ready to do whatever adjustments the car needs in the moment.

Just got my wheel not to long ago and I’m confused you said let the wheel glide through your hands and when I try to do that my wheel just stops right in the middle everytime
Do you have a settings for steering wheel? Now after update it's even more settings in here and i can't find what is the best settings i should use in carx

Whenever you’re about to spin out try putting the clutch in to kill the power to the car, and a huge part of it is throttle control, it doesn’t matter as much how fast your doing them. You have to feather the throttle to find that perfect point. I hope this helped!
