All great ideas! I make breakfast wraps by whisking an egg and pouring it into a small frying pan where I’ve melted a little butter, like you would a pancake. As soon as it’s nearly cooked, still a little wet, I put a small tortilla (wrap) on top, it sticks to the egg, then I put my hand on it and turn pan upside down to release (or use pan lid) and then place back in the pan egg side up to slightly brown the tortilla. Whilst it’s browning you can put a filling in or not, it’s fine without, but some grated cheese, tomato, then roll it up and turn over to seal closed edge like you did with the burrito. Takes seconds and is really good!
Another great video! I love peanut butter and bananas on toast. I really like the way you were able to vary the dishes so well with the ingredients you had. I think you could turn it into a short series. How many meals could you make with say 3 - 5 or so items. Using different ingredients each time. Your creativity would be fun to watch. I personally would love to see you cooking with your mum and/or Jonny.
You are so smart using the tic tac container to store chili pepper!! the cucumber pickles, fried rice, noddles, bread, everything look delicious! I'm wondering if I can survive US $10 for my weekend camping. I'll have to try!
Great idea for a video. That was well done for under £10. My friend use to go out with a chinese woman, and she could literally feed them both for a week on £10. It’s truly an art form. Great video Jane.
We could open it up to "can include friends" (so an angler buddy can supply fish) - but then you have to feed the friend We could do a collab if you fancy it?
Hi Jane just came across your channel and absolutely love it .Im always trying to find something different that tastes good when out camping and im a big noodle fan , so looking forward to trying a couple of your rescipes. All the best .Dave
Ive been in need of inspiration for a long time now and I think ive just found it in this video. Thanks Janie this really has given me the kick I needed.
I love German rye bread. I buy the one with sunflower seeds. My favourite is toasted, spread with Philadelphia, topped with sliced banana and drizzled with honey or maple syrup. Deliiiicious!
(Giggles) Ryebread is the traditional lunch bread in Denmark too. We eat it as it is, all the time. 😄 Always with spread or lunch meat though. By the way, leftover or broken ryebread make delicious crutons. (Roast them for a shorter while than you would wheat bread, or they become hard as rocks).
Great ideas! just subscribed! Not sure if you've been asked this before but how do you keep your hair looking so fabulous whilst camping. My hair is the same and I can't even control it at home!
Haha Dili, the struggle is real 🤣 And thank you, every day is a new hair challenge for sure! Small bottle of water mixed with a bit of conditioner to spritz hair and scrunch a curl back in every morning. I loosely follow the ‘curly girl’ - google it if you’ve not heard of it, it does help give you a teeny bit of control back. I sleep with it on top of my head to stop too much frizz in the morning, and the main thing is finding the products that work for your hair. Good luck curly sista!
I am so glad to see that you brought extra food. Always take extra food, extra clothes, extra water, a tough knife and a mirror for signaling when entering the wilderness every time. How remote is your campsite? Sometimes, when my husband and I were younger, our campsites were hundreds of miles from any neighbors.
Hi Melody, I live in South West England so alas, I am never as remote as I'd like to be 😆 That said, I do always keep a fair bit of food that has a long shelf life in the van at all times, just in case. A campsite hundreds of miles from a neighbour would be my idea of heaven!
@Melody Lacy It sounds just perfect! When we go full time, I'd love to think that we will somehow get the van over to the States (assuming you're in the US?) and experience proper wild camping. Scotland is the closest we get in the UK.
@@hedgecomber Yes. Wild Westerners. Now we are older, we've moved to the Southeast. Go camping in the Wild Western USA or Canada at least once in your life!
@@hedgecomber Your van would need an undercarriage rebuild to manage unpaved roads and trails. You would do better spending the shipping money on a vehicle over here.
Thanks Jane - wow! that was impressive 10 pound for the weekend fantastic- you sure have inspired me to give that ago - I love that you planned your meals repeating the ingredients - we are back in lockdown over here so what’s in the fridge/freezer and cupboards is what I have to work with. No going to the shops for a week unless an emergency - this challenge will keep me busy in lockdown for sure. Thank you
Oh Glenda, I'm so sorry to hear that 😕 Fingers crossed your world gets back to normal really soon. And yes, try the cupboard challenge, it will give you something fun to do rather than twiddling your thumbs xxx
Good Afternoon Jane .. Yumm .. lekker .. and all in one pot to boot 👍. Peanut Butter and Banana .. part of my morning Brekkie GoTo. I have an extremely diverse Breakfast Menu 6 days in the week .. as long as it's Oats-Based 😏. Never on a Sunday though .. that's reserved for a Fry Up. £ 10.00 .. not bad at all. Unfortunately here in Switzerland we'll have to increase that to approx CHF 20.00 (now if you could work down to €5.00-ish .. only kidding, there are limits). Looks like I shall have to log onto your News Letter or Starve. Thanks for the Share .. take care .. Tommy
@@hedgecomber I generally go for the chicken and mushroom. Tell your friend you can pep it up a bit with some chilli sauce or, even better, a dollop of lime pickle....😁

Aww, what a lovely idea Lynnette! I'll see if Jonny is up for helping out, or maybe even taking on the cooking challenge all by himself 😍
Away in our van this weekend definitely going to try a few of these recipes thanks 🙏 Jane 🚐🌱

Thanks Sandra!

Do it! And be sure to put it all in a video Yuzu so we can learn from you!
PS the Tic Tac spice idea I pinched from Pinterest, and it works great!
Would you do a "no cooler-no fridge" camping menu for 3 days or so?
That's a brilliant idea Melody, yes I will! 😊

Wow, that deserves respect. Not even sure I would know where to start, other than eating a LOT of instant noodles 😱
I cook something similar to the fried rice when I am hiking but throw in 2 tablespoons of peanut butter.
that burito looked soo good
Love this. Would live a feed a family on a budget for a camping weekend video.
Oh great idea, thank you!
You are amazing absolutely love all those recipes you ate bloody good lol for less than a tenner
NICE, THANKS FOR THE IDEAS!! Do take care. USA, FL.
Okay, I challenge you & Jonny to cook a meal with only caught & foraged ingredients. You are allowed spices and oil & whatevers in your garden 🙂

When you mentioned carbs, the first thing that popped into my head was, hearing Homer Simpson saying "mmmmmmmm carbs" 🤣🤣🤣
That is literally me every day of my life Steve! It's a shame the tasty little buggers don't love me as much as I love them though 😆😆😆

Hey Tommy! Oat based breakfasts are by far the cheapest, and 6 days of last makes that fry up taste ever better 🤩👌
Pukka stuff !!!! Another one pleaseeee!!!!! 5 quid budget and foraged foods PL'ease! 😂😉x

Why? Why not £10 per meal? Why go cheap? Better to go expensive I say and eat regally. Washed down with some good wine.
You don't get it, that's next weekend.
