    Quadratec sells the same carrier under the name Tactik currently on sale for $161.70.

    Thanks for the video BTW was abit throw off about the inside latches to keep it open that it was a slide open type mechanism....

      Wasn’t that bad with inside latches. We thought it would be a pain but it wasn’t.

    It is designed to be drilled from the outside/bottom. How did you patch the hole?

    • @turkstravels
      @turkstravels  2 роки тому +1

      That makes more sense! We covered the existing holes with electrical tape. That worked well as we drove through some heavy rain.

    Do know of any other roof top carriers that are similar in measurement? I can't seem to find others like Thule and Yakima that are similar in size. Thanks

    • @turkstravels
      @turkstravels  2 роки тому +1

      I am unsure of ones with a similar size! We have taken this carrier on about 3,000 miles worth of trips and haven’t had an issue yet!

    when you buy the cargo box does it comes with a little helper to put on the car roof like your did lol.

    • @turkstravels
      @turkstravels  2 роки тому

      It would be nice! 😂 The helper is not always there either! After a few times putting it on the car you get used to get it on by yourself.

    I have an equinox as well - will the car fit in the garage with this on still or no?

    • @turkstravels
      @turkstravels  Рік тому

      I would say no for a standard garage door. It is pretty easy put on and take off though. The downside, as with most hard cover car carriers, is having a spot to store it!

    This might be a dumb question but I don't want to screw this up lol: did those rails come WITH this cargo carrier? I've already installed rails similar to these and I'm pretty sure those would work just fine with this carrier.
    Basically I'm just hoping this is compatible with my rails and I'm not going to have buyer's remorse (of some kind).

    • @turkstravels
      @turkstravels  2 роки тому +1

      The rails did not come with it. The rails on our car are factory installed. We have the aero style bars.
      The u shape bolts appear to be designed to fit different bar types. If you can adjust the bar spacing you should be fine!

      Jeff - no issue when it is raining. We have traveled with it during some pretty nasty rain storms.

    Just bought this myself,are you leaving this on also for Daily driving and if so any difference besides sound

    • @turkstravels
      @turkstravels  2 роки тому +4

      Not for full time driving. We just took it on a 2000 mile trip. It was left on during that period. No noise from it. I did buy ratchet straps as an extra precaution to tie around the carrier. Made feel a little safer! I didn’t want the top coming off on the freeway! FYI you have about a 4 MPG drop in fuel economy with it on.
