I'm dog sitting right now and I've never seen a bowl like this until today. I didn't know how to open it and clean it, so thank you so much!
What a great invention. We have to get one of these. We go camping a lot in the summer and it would be wonderful to have. Thank you for sharing.
OMG...thank you... thank you... thank you!! my cats will spill a water bowl in a NY minute ...last evening I walked into the kitchen into a pool! grrr...this will be the perfect solution! I would never have heard of this without you! did I say thank you?!?!?
I used to sell these 15 years ago, they are wonderful!
Wow!! thats a cool dog water bowl! My dog weighs about 2 pounds Shes so tiny! not sure if they make one for her size.... Ill check it out TFS Ms Linda!
We have a Great Pyrenees named, Kuma, & since she's so big she can come through the house and dump bowls of water & food. We also have cats that like to ply with their water & move their bowl & spill it all over. This would be great for all of them! I'm going to check it out! TVMFS Linda! Nice product so far :)
Thanks for this idea!!! I will be ordering one for my son's German Shorthair named Gauge. I'll get one for myself so he'll have one when he comes to visit. Thanks for the link!
Omg what a superb idea! How interesting
P.S. How do they drink out of it?
Awesome info as always Linda. Thanks for that.
Hi Linda! thanks for the review....is the link correct? I'd love to get one but dont think the link is working. Thanks
That is a neat product. Unfortunately, my dog has a thing for plastic (and cardboard) and it would be destroyed in about 2 minutes. I had a crockpot years ago that stopped working so I pulled the pot out and use that. Pretty heavy and they have yet to knock it over. Just a thought.
there is a review on amazon where the dog chewed the heck out of it and still works perfect

Linda I really like your dog videos.. I hope you keep doing them...Thumbs up Great review...
Unfortunately, I don't have a dog right now. But, once I do get a dog to accept me as it's human counterpart, I'd like to use that water dish. Are they dishwasher safe, or must you only wash them by hand.? Thanks for sharing.
Have put it in the dishwasher to really sanitize it, as water sitting does get gross and obviously can make your dog ill.... so far so good on the middle rack of the dishwasher
Good idea but I still don't like the idea of plastic for our pets. We had major spill issues with other bowls and then we found a heavy, glazed ceramic bowl and no more mess. We do put a placemat under Lucy's water dish, just to be sure.
Nana, if you don't mind me asking, why don't you like plastic? Thanks...
if you follow the link its stainless.
Jan Brewington From watching the video that bowl set looks like Tupperware and snaps closed like Tupperware. Also, when Linda sets it down on her hard surface counter, there's no distinctive metal sound, just the sound plastic makes. I didn't follow the store link but perhaps they do carry a bowl with this design in stainless?
Pam Russell
Hi Pam, sorry it took me so long to respond. What a crazy week! We had a kitty who got what is called "feline acne" and the vet said that plastic, even when you clean bowls very often, tend to harbor things that cause this issue. He suggested stainless, ceramic or glass. Also, he said that the jury really isn't out on the safety of plastic bowls possibly leaching chemicals into an animal's food/water. You might find it interesting to Google "plastic bowls pets safe" in quotations so you only get results specific to your search. I find this just saves me time when searching for specific information. Again, this bowl is a wonderful idea, we appreciate Linda's review, just sharing what works for us and why.
Nana Papa I too wish that the same design were available in stainless. The posted stainless model doesn't work as the bowl is open so much that water does slop all over, and it's certainly not spill proof when tipped. The plastic one is great. We have them in the house, dog runs, and car.
I wonder if it would work for cats. I have one cat that loves to play in the water bowl and she makes a nasty mess every single day. TFS!! Hugs! Linda
super, toll gemacht, Danke Dir ... LG aus der ChaosKitchen51

wouldnt it be easier to fill it with faucet instead of measuring cup?
pretty clevver !
That is cool.
The above link (3/4/2015) is NOT a Buddy Bowl. It has a cone leading into a wide open bowl and is supposedly stainless steel. First of all, water slops all over the floor when dogs drink from it, a minor improvement from a wide open bowl. Further, water WILL spill if tipped. And finally, the bowl is not stainless, as evidenced by those I bought that developed rust spots in less than a year.
Stick with the real Buddy Bowl. It's tough to open, but loosens up a bit with time.

NOTE: If you have a chewer, and it is not snapped in place 100% which is a bit difficult you will have 64 oz. on the floor all the time....we are trying to figure out what the issue is ... if it is not all perfectly snapped together it will drain out... it is better than most but not perfect, and water should be changed twice a day, not every other day.... so yeah... better than nothing but not foolproof ...even snapped my dog (golden ret. 4 mo old pup) worked on it, gets it apart and water and lots of it everywhere.... we are looking for another solution....
Hummmmmmmmmmm I am going to get one of these for my wolf hounds.
The link takes me to a COMPLETELY different bowl. (2 quart metal shown)

It seems to me if a dog bowl is turned over and you are shocked - you need to see a shrink! LOL
