Hi @XREAL_Global I’m a dev from Australia and really want to order the new air 2 ultras but there’s no au store, only us and eu. Be good if I could buy direct from us store and shipped to aus like most companies offer, better than buying from some dodgy 3rd party or have to use a redirect us address which can sometimes be unreliable.
I have been wanting to get into AR computing for a while now, and I think the Xreal Air 2 Pro with the Beam Pro is the best out there. Now if I could swing the price....
Hopefully prices continue to come down in time as the tech improves, this setup has been pretty awesome though. Love the tiny form factor first and foremost, makes me feel way better not wanting to drop all of that cash on a Vision Pro when it launched.
Love my Xreals but they dropped the ball on the beam. I personally have no issue with it being phone like. That was I can save battery on my phone and not be disturbed with notifications
The new pro is really nice as a standalone, but it would have been really great if they combined it with the functionality of the original beam - kind of the best of both worlds. Maybe future updates down the road? Haven’t tested the original beam yet
6:13 nice review, but i think its worth mentioning that if you walk straight up to someone and are within a few feet of their face, that they can see your screen. only situation I can see this being an issue is if you are watching something that takes up the full screen while ordering a coffee at starbucks or something (lol)
Haha yeah you can kind of see if you have the electrochromic dimming off, but if you’re full screen with a video or something you probably couldn’t walk around and see things properly in public, even with full transparency
I own the XREAL Air glasses and I love to use them with my Steamdeck at home and for watching UA-cam while riding the train or in the plane. For productivity work, I guess we have to wait for higher resolution OLEDs because. It is really necessary to have higher resolution OLEDs than the actual resolution so text can be rendered always clear however the screen is rendered in the virtual space. Honestly I wished Apple has gone this technology path.
Thanks for the review Josh. How did you get those beautiful floating displays that shifted above as in synch with head movement in that way? That was amazing! Also I want that cool three bulb lamp in the background. Where can I find one like that? :)
Glad you liked it! This was one of the harder videos for me with the logistics since I couldn’t film the virtual display like a normal b-roll shot. The beam pro lets you screen capture so I did that and added it into the shots during the editing. I found that lamp on Etsy a while back! Last o checked it wasn’t available anymore but there were some similar options if you search for industrial Edison bulb lamps
Also please be honest with what would you choose, xreal pro 2 or viture pro? And why? After your comment I'll straight away buy one, kindly help in details, my main concern is picture quality.
I’ve honestly been really struggling with the comparison, they’re extremely similar. I’ve been trying to gather my thoughts for a comparison video at some point but still working things out. Picture quality is basically the same in my experience? Slight advantage for less eye strain with the xreal but viture’s myopic adjustments are really nice. In my eyes so far it boils down to which (if any) hardware you prefer from either company (beam pro or beam, or neckband from viture) because the glasses offer almost the same thing
I'm having issues with my glasses while wearing then and watching content the video blacks out for a second then comes back on XReal 2 pro, while connected to the beam pro
Haven’t had an issue like this before to speak on it personally, might be worth checking around on Reddit or XREAL cs? Hopefully it gets sorted out for you!
Absolutely the best video review ive seen so far. Having a google pixel i was so excited when i saw the beam pro came out, and cant wait to get it. How would you say the convenince of the cable is?
Glad you enjoyed the video! This was a fun challenge trying to showcase it without being able to film it normally since the displays are virtual. Not sure exactly what you mean by the convenience of the cable, but it’s been good for me so far! No disconnects or issues, I’ll just slide the pro in my pocket or set it nearby if I’m lounging and watching something.
@@joshfenn thanks for the reply! I should have been more specific. I mean how was the experience having a cable run down to your pocket from your head?
It’s pretty much been a non-issue, since the cable runs behind your ear it’s easy to forget about it during use. Looking forward to future tech where the sunglasses form factor can be cable free but we’re probably a long way out from that
Could you please let me know if it's possible to turn off the screen when the device is connected to the glasses? I'm interested in conserving battery life, similar to how the screen can be turned off when using Dex. Thank you for your assistance.
How is the picture quality of Netflix and Amazon prime with the beam pro in xreal air 2 pro? The screen resolution overall also? Is it better than viture pro?
Both have been great! Picture quality has been the same for me across every app I’ve tested essentially. Tough call between these and the viture pro, just comparing the glasses they’re extremely similar, especially with picture quality. Slight edge to xreal for eye strain reduction in my experience but that’s pretty subjective based on individual eye sight I’d assume
Can you still use the xreal beam pro as a pass thru from a computer or steam deck? Also, since this is an independent object, can the xreal beam pro be used with quest vr? Just curious…
My vision is actually isn’t too terrible, I just usually get headaches from extended periods without them. Unfortunately no way to wear both but xreal has the option for prescription inserts if needed
Thanks for the review, regarding people who wear prescription eye glasses, will they need the adapter in order to see clearly the floating screens? or can you wear it on top of prescription glasses? I know that virtue xr glasses support +-5 prescription lens,
@@joshfenn I found a link on Reddit! 😊 Seeing that, the 3D camera is nice for "fun" shots, but not for quality shots. Video was taken on a sunny day near the equator and looks like it is cloudy.

Hi there. Please, could you help me with a couple of questions? I have a pair of NREAL Air glasses and I would like to know if I can use them with the XREAL Beam Pro. Additionally, I would like to know if I can watch Netflix without any problem. Kind regards

I don’t have the rokids but tried my viture glasses - they power on and connect but it won’t launch into the nebulaOS software, it just mirrors the regular android layout
Is the screen size adjustable and if so how much? I would like to have a smallish screen anchored just out of normal view for directions and translations. How does it work for translations and directions using something like Google translate and google maps walking directions? Those would be my primary uses and interests. Good detailed and objective review thank you.
It’s not fully customizable with the size, but you can switch between ‘medium’ and ‘large’ screens they quote as 91” or 222” for each app. You could definitely use the smaller size and pin it off to the side though for something like this - it worked well for me using it when cooking haha. Didn’t try it with walking directions for maps but I assume this would work well, you could use a smaller window off to the side or just keep it on smooth follow without the electrochromic dimming and keep it in front of you.
You technically can, but it doesn’t launch into the 3D nebulaOS software unfortunately - it just mirrors similar to if you plugged it into a phone or other device
It’s been pretty good! Haven’t done thorough testing draining it or anything but probably around 3 hours for media playback. Really nice to have the secondary charging port for longer use cases
