She killed it!!! ❤❤❤ country singer from Australia covering Eminem with a Banjo! Wow!
Right! What an anomaly!
@@MaddyReactions watch another Aussie. John Farnham with The MSO singing ‘Help’ by The Beatles. ‘Farnsey’ is an absolute Legend. GOAT. Or Matt Corby singing ‘Brother.’
Kasey Chambers absolutely killed this❤️😁❤️🇦🇺 Aussie Music is pure, unadulterated, magical talent. It may just surprise you 🤔😊
Best cover ever. She ripped it up. Bloody brilliant. She is indeed very talented.
The instrument you saw is a lap steel slide guitar. It's her Dad playing it. He brother is the guitar player who does the harmonies too...
Awesome!
It was Bandon Dodd on guitar and backing vocals, not her brother. I thought it was too a while ago but I've since been corrected! 😊
She makes it sound like Marshall Mathers wrote it just for her. It's a really intelligent and sensitive interpretation of the song. She follows the instructions. When it says "the mood all changed" the mood all changed. And when the band drop in they are totally with Kasey. She shreds that banjo and she nails the cadence. She inhabits the song. Great performance. It is good that people are noticing it. She deserves it. She is brave. Thanks for the reaction.
I agree!
"Like it was written by Johnny Cash."
What a great compliment. Loved the reaction. Keep em coming.😊
This has to be THE BEST live performance of 2022 by ANYONE - Kasey is a true artist
So talented!

@@ray.shoesmith no, a true fan of a brilliant artist
You ain't lying...
As an Australian, I've seen Casey Chambers a number of times, but I never realised the janis Joplin sound she had. She's awesome.
I love it!!
I mention it everywhere, but Em seeing this, loving it, and lifting the copyright for Kasey so she can freely profit from this version is one of the classier things I've heard done in music recently...Queen did it a few years back for Angelina Jordan when she covered Bohemian Rhapsody...really cool.
That’s awesome!!
eh" singers and song writers are doing that all the time, most artists will have done covers in their lifetime, but considering EM's persona its good news for Kasey, although he did allow Taylor swift to abuse it, i dont know why he allowed that, its a shocker
@@iancremmins4727 Singer/songwriters waive copyright "all the time" when they are receiving fees fome the covering artist's song revenues (think of someone like Weird Al)...Em went a step further...he waived the whole thing, allowing her to keep all moneys earned.
@@johnjohn37371 i am not familiar with that term, lifting copyright, i am familiar with artists of one kind or another applying for a licence or permission to use the song her art ot whatever it may be, they dont waive copyright, they apply the copyright
@@iancremmins4727 As far as I know, singers/songwriter's only concern themselves with copyright law when they are trying to make money on their version...the copyright holder may enforce a "partial" type of copyright claim, allowing the cover to generate revenue, in which they, the creator, are paid. As a matter of fact, Coolio would not voluntarily agree to this for Weird Al's Amish Paradise, but still accepted his share of the money the song was generating. He could have gone to court and had the copyright enforced, resulting in the termination of the song being played, but I suppose he liked the money too much. He is on record telling a reporter that he did not consent to that song being made and being allowed to generate income...from what is being reported, Eminem not only blessed Kasey's version of his song for purposes of her popularity, allowing it to be released under her name on Spotify, he also refused to accept his part of the revenue, letting her keep it. Perhaps at that point she was forced to "apply" for some form of copyright inclusion to to perform her version and generate income...
Proud Aussie here. Been a Kasey fan since her first Album. She is an amazing talent and song writer. She deserves this recognition ❤
Edit..to answer your question...That's her dad on slide guiter, her brother was the highlighted guiter that came in with backup vocal.
Kiwi here. You guys can have Pavlova, Phar Lap, and Russell Crowe, we'll have this gem 😉
That wasn't Nash on the guitar and backing vocals. It's long time name member Brandon Dodd.
Wow! I wasn’t sure what to expect and felt a bit uneasy with it being such a well known and well loved classic. But, music is music and she took it dismantled it and put it back together and has done an amazing job. Whether you’re a purist who thinks you can’t better a classic, you have to admit that was hell of a performance. Thanks for that Maddy 😊
Glad you enjoyed it! ☺️
I saw these reactions come up in my feed for like 6 months..I saw the thumbnail.. Eminem on a banjo???.....ummm..I'm good. And I didn't click for the longest time. Now I am addicted!
@@crystalscolza1663 I think that’s been a lot of people 😆 and now it’s a daily fix😊👍🏼
I never thought I'd feel this song, I felt it this time. I've heard it before always made me feel like a kid again, but this time I'm hearing it again like never before as a man that understands the struggle when I hear this now I feel what it means. Now I don't feel young and angry, this made me feel understanding and compassion for Eminem the human Marshall Bruce Mathers.
The bloke sitting on the left is Kasey’s dad playing pedal steel guitar. As a kid she was in her dad’s country band The Dead Ringers. She’s Australian country music royalty, but is so much more than the cliche often associated with Country.
You’re comment associating her with Johnny Cash is spot on, as he too could be genre defying.
That is so cool!!
Sorry to correct you. Bill Chambers is playing a lap steel. 🙂
@@Laraine3 Yes, you’re right. It is a lap steel. I’m pretty sure he also plays pedal steel at times, and got confused!😊
@@lbd-po7cl all good. I only know because I looked on her website. He also plays dobro, and slide guitar. 🙂
Yes I also originally thought pedal steel, the chair makes it look like it, but too much movement on the headstock.
This ones wild. She did an amazing job with this one!
I agree completely!!!
This version is so good. In my life, I've heard maybe 5-6 covers of truly great songs, where the cover actually supercedes the original. This might be the best of them. It's so good.
This is the arrangement Eminems lyrics were written for! Best cover(sorry re invention) of any song ever!!❤
Yesss!!!
She asked her fans who had been to that concert to send the videos they took on the night so Kasey used the footage for this video.
Loved your reaction and thanks for helping Kasey get more recognition for this masterpiece.
By the way you are absolutely beautiful looking on the outside and inside.
That is such a cool idea! A fan filmed MV! Thanks so much for your kindness. :)
I am looking forward to seeing this live on Feb 17 2024 which is about 10 min walk from my house - roll on 2024! Kasey is a TOTAL star!
That's her dad on Slide/Steel guitar... Kasey certainly kills this song and when the whole band drops in, it reaches another level. Nice reaction, seen so many of them lately. MY all-time Kasey song USED to be "Travelling Bones" but I'm afraid this one has taken over now.🦘🦘🦘🦘
Do you mean Rattlin' Bones?
@@stanroach2842yeah, I think that spell check snuck up on me again.... *lol*
If that’s not giving your Heart and SOUL!I don’t know what is 👏👏👏👏👏EPIC!
Miss... john farnham singing help from the beatles with the Melbourne symphony orchestra will blow your mind 🤯
What do Aussies have in the water Down Under???... they are truly amazing individuals!!!
Worlds first bluegrass, country, folk, rock, heavy metal, pink Floyd rap song…
Her dad is playing the slide ❤
So cool!
Hey Maddy it's Matty, I recommend this to you (sure there were others) I was at work when you dropped it. Was hard not to watch it at work. Good reaction glad you liked it
"I was playing in the beginning, and the mood all changed..." She designed this version of 'Loose Yourself' around those words that Eminem wrote so long ago! The first phase was folk, the second country and the last pure rock and roll, talk about a change of mood, and then to loose yourself in the performance!
I loved it!!
Thanks for doing my suggestion.
No problem!
Kasey has her Dad Bill playing on a steel slide which is a modern version of a Dolbro steel guitar. The instrument is in the form of a table set up. Pink Floyd use one in Great Gig in the Sky played by David. Cool reaction to this song. I love how most of the audience are on their feet applauding Lindsay before the song is over and Christine calls his name to thunderous applause!
He's playing a lap steel. It's a guitar that you play on your lap using a slide.
Steel lap guitar with a slide.
Amazing cover! Kasey is phenomenal!
The guy sitting down is Kasey’s dad. He’s playing a steel slide guitar.
That's her dad Bill playing slide guitar. She smashed it!
Thank you Maddy, glad you checked this one out 💜🇦🇺
It's so good!
I've never heard any cover of any rap song This is amazing Great Job
The cat in the hat sitting at the LHS is her dad. He is playing Lap Steel.
The man sitting down is her dad. He's playing a slide style on lap steel guitar, I believe.
Wow how did I miss this one excellent reaction goosebumps thru the whole song best cover ever, later beautiful ❤️😎🇺🇸
I like the Johnny Cash comment, especially because Cash was known for doing reimaginations of songs.
YES!! That was the vibe it was giving me!
The man playing the slide guitar is Kasey's father and the back up male vocals is her brother! If you want to hear a powerful song ahe wrote, check out aint no little girl Xx
I love that!
That wasn't her brother on guitar and backing vocals, it's her long term guitarist Brandon Dodd.
Covers that don’t sound like the original? John Farnham’s “Help” by the Beatles live with the MSO is worth a look. He’s an Aussie artist (legend) as is Kasey. Link here - ua-cam.com/video/dv54giOSRKs/v-deo.html
💖
It's a Lap steel guitar.
The gentleman in question is playing a slide guitar, and he is Kasey's father Bill.
sitting down has a steel slide guitar
That's her dad, Bill Cambers playing lapsteel !!
To your question of what the seated musician is playing : lap steel guitar, and it is her father Bill Chambers playing.
Still waiting on Illest of our time, Losing it, The Hunger by our boy!
Bill Chambers is playing a lap steel. How do I know? It’s written on Kasey’s websites.
Love it! ☺️
This has got to be the best cover of all time. She is a Bluegrass/Country singer in Australia. She took a 20 year old rap song, tore it to shreds, & made it her motherfucking own!!! The anguish in this performance is on another level! After touring with her family for about 2 decades, she went solo. Her debut album was critically acclaimed, yet radio staions wouldn't play her songs so her early career mirrored Eminem's, which is why she chose this song. Her song, Am I Not Pretty Enough was her big fuck you to the radio stations. Ironically, it became her first hit, played on every radio station in the country. Youngest woman to be inducted into the Australian Recording Industry Association Hall of Fame. Now you understand why she feels this song?
Kasey sprung it on the audience. After the response she got, she asked the audience members to send her the footage, that she compiled into this video. Eminem has heard it & granted her permission to add it to her Spotify
Her father is playing the pedal steel guitar. Her brother is playing the guitar that first joined her. Her father, mother, brotjer & her were the Dead Ringer Band
That wasn't her brother on the guitar. It was Brandon Dodd, who's been playing with Kasey for a few years now.
It wasn't "sprung" on the audience - this was the 17th show of her Behind the Barricades tour & Lose Yourself had been the final encore at the 16 previous shows.
It was because of the response from the 16 prior shows her team recorded the audio at this track at the mixing desk - the audience had been told it was being recorded & were asked to keep their "enthusiasm" in check to ensure a clean recording.
There is no evidence Eminem has seen this & as he doesn't own the copyright to the song he can't grant permission to put it on Spotify.
Great reaction like always Maddie , found you through your Tom MacDonald reactions glad you done this Kasey one . Us Aussie fans will love it .
3 songs off the top of my head a can say I think the cover (re-creators) version bettered it from the original is this one , another Aussie John Farnham live in Melbourne cover of the Beatles song help an disturbs cover of Simon & Garfunkel song sound of silence 😊😊
He is playing the slide guitar sitting down, that's her dad too (fun fact)
Wow!
The pedal steel guitar is what you were asking about . It,s her dad playing it .
Epic!!
Nah. Not pedal steel, just lap style guitar.
It's a lap steel ,but close.
That's her Dad playing a slide guitar. He has the guitar across his lap.
That's her pa (dad) on a slide guitar!!!!
Love it!
Wasn't really into the song the 1st half of it. Thought it was way to slow but she came through on the 2nd half. That was dope!!!
Right!!
Not sure why, but id love to hear Kasey cover Alanis Morriset
She does have Alanis vibes ✌🏼
This is an amazing cover! You asked about any other mash up songs. You can check out Chris Cornell live playing U2"s guitar chords to their song One while singing Metallica's song One lyrics.
The guy sitting down is her dad…playing a lap steel guitar
I love that!
Her Dad on slide guitar
Lap steel slide guitar, basically 6 strings open tuning fun fun fun
That was a slide guitar he was playing on his lap.
Peddle steel guitar is what her father (cowboy hat) is playing.
Not a pedal steel - its a slide guitar
Banjo-Rap, cool
If you'd like to her more of Kasey in her normal wheelhouse (she's a successful Australian Country Artist), try 'Aint no Little Girl'. As with nearly all Australian artists, live is best.

ok, you wanted something that changes up a song like this. I checked your vids and can't see where you have reacted to John Farnham. He does a version of the Beatles "Help" that is stunning. Find the live concert where he sings with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and you can't go wrong. Also all the JF fans will love it. Thanks for this reaction KC is the real deal.
He I'd playing the slide guitar.
First two verses were third person and then Kasey comes in with the third verse (first person) and kicks all arse😊! (Ass in north American!)
Playing a slide guitar
This is amazing. I don't know if you've reacted to John Farnham and his cover of the Beatles classic Help. You should check that out.
A couple Aussie ledgens try these
John Farnham with Melbourne symphony orchestra HELP remix of Beatles song
John Farnham with Melbourne symphony orchestra AC/DC cover Along way to the top
Cold chisel titled Wild thing live performance last stand version real old style rock
Cheers 🦘🇦🇺👍
You asked for another re-hash of an original - try 'Help' by John Farnham (another Aussie). Be prepared to be amazed.
That's a lap steel he's playing.
that bloke sitting down is playing a slide guitar, just give it a bit of a search on UA-cam to see
If you are looking for another great cover of the original you should check out the Simon and Garfunkel Sounds of Silence masterpeice by the metal band call Disturbed . Between the official version and Conan live version on UA-cam the song has a billion views. It is truely amazing as well. I prefer the live version.
Great!!
You want a mash up? Try The Wiggles doing Tame Impalla's 'Elephant' on TrippleJ's 'Like a Version'. It got voted as the winner by the listeners.

I might just go and listen to that again...
The Wiggles?????? 😂😂😂😂😂
@@MaddyReactions Yes Maddy, The Wiggles!! You do know that the founding members of the Wiggles came from the Cockroaches? Rockers Rock!
Oh, and Tame Impala was so honoured that they did one of their concerts dressed as the Wiggles as a 'back at you'.
You are just the most perfectly perfect pretty person on the Planet !!

Great reaction! Keep up the good work. I absolutely love how she completely takes us on an emotional journey. This definitely is a song and feeling that moved her at some time in her life. Another well known song that was transformed by a current talent is Aurora and her cover of David Bowie's "Life on Mars", totally stripped down. ua-cam.com/video/kJ095S0MmnA/v-deo.html

Slides guitar
Slide guitar
I really don't like waiting for premiers.
Lol then close your eyes and take a nap until then ☺️
really?? you have no idea about slide guitar which is identified with american blues music
Analogue music? Real music played by real musicians!
Kasey is no superstar, young lady. She's as normal as you, except she got off her arse and did something. Welcome to Aussie pub rock.
