    Good review. The only reviewer I have seen who measure pocket depth.

      1111aaa2222 thanks. I try and be as thorough as possible. I figure someone might benefit from pocket measurements if they have some specific needs they're wondering about so I throw them in

    Really appreciate you modeling at the end of your videos and these pants would not be for me only because of the way they look on compared to other types of jeans. Love the tactical pants videos and how they look on.

    A little about myself. I suffer from a severe back condition which means I struggle to wear any trousers other than the 5.11 brand. In fact the rip stop tech is what works for me as I don’t have to wear a belt. I discovered the defender pants courtesy of one of these you tube videos. I literally had to throw out all my work trousers and replace with 5.11 as well as wearing the Stryke pants as casual wear. The defender pants are great because I still don’t need a belt and quite honestly I love telling people they aren’t 5,11 jeans as such. Quite expensive in the uk but I still bought 2 pairs as they are so comfortable. I literally won’t and don’t wear any other brand as I am so happy with 5.11. I’m not a soldier or policeman etc I work in an office but these pants are 100% suitable for anybody to wear.

    The 5.11 Defender Flex pants (the ones in a single shade, not the jeans) seem to be the very first pair of 5.11 pants that can actually be stepped up on the formality scale, and be dressed up with a nice white shirt and a v-neck sweater, especially if they are in the volcanic color. Great review, I really enjoyed watching it.

    I just wish the coin pocket be on the LEFT side, so I could use to put a spare pistol magazine and use it when needed. As it is on the right side, for a right hand shooter is not viable to reload the pistol from there.
    Also the rear pocket could have a security flap to avoid wallet or cellphone to get out when seat or fall.

    • @SnareMan
      @SnareMan  6 років тому

      Good point. Although I suppose you could just put it in the rear pocket . They could put some flaps inside the pockets like Vertx does with their pants to help keep the wallet in. Putting flaps over the pockets though would take away from the "normal pant look" that they are going for with them.

      check out the tactical distributor stand your ground jeans. they have coin pockets on both sides.

  • @realcowboy7524
    @realcowboy7524 4 роки тому

    My question is why don't they have the coin pocket on both sides bc when you do a mag reload most people will use their left hand to place it into the gun that is in your right hand. Good video and great product 👍

    I think it’s time you do an overall review of all your favorite pants and why. That would be great.

    • @SnareMan
      @SnareMan  6 років тому +1

      Part of the problem is that there is no perfect pair and that each pant has good features that another does have, but you can't find all the good features in 1 pair. LAPG is designing a new pair of pants and asked for opinions so I sent them a looooong list of what I thought would be useful design features. We'll see how it comes out.

    • @TheFlyingotto

    • @SnareMan
      @SnareMan  6 років тому

      Thanks! I haven't seen anything like that . I think a small of the back holster is kind of a bad place to carry though. Lots of ways for that to go bad unless you are in a "slow gun fight".

  • @KevinJohn556

    What’s nice about these pants is.... nothing just like their shoes I can’t get them and they don’t like answering questions by email phone or Facebook. I wear a size 42 and buy a 44 to accommodate my guns, 511 does not offer anything larger than a size 40.

    At 3:11 when demonstrating stretch, the side stitching looks to be pulling apart. The blue jean version has ugly stitching and bleach bars.

    • @SnareMan
      @SnareMan  5 років тому

      I haven't noticed any problems with the stitching wearing them. The looks of the jeans are subjective. I don't mind them, but some might not like the faded parts. The darker jeans don't have those though. I consider them my "dressy" jeans. :-)

    Great review thank you. Not liking the strips under front pockets. And only two extra pockets? Not worth the price. Not getting these. Thanks again

    • @SnareMan
      @SnareMan  6 років тому +1

      You mean the stripes on the jeans? They are pretty common on jeans these days, but I understand if some aren't thrilled by them and would prefer a more traditional jean style. I'd be fine with them either way I suppose.

  • @feidtublec
    @feidtublec 3 роки тому

    The fit and the overall features of the jean are great. The seams and the dye on the other hand (dark wash, i think) look awful, and remind those of a very tacky working pant (in my opinion).
    The problem is that you don't want to look that way, if you're looking for concealement.

      I know there is no perfect pant but if you could only choose 1 or 2 for every day civilian non tactical use what would they be? That might make a great video your top 3....

    • @SnareMan
      @SnareMan  5 років тому

      @@dt7037 Thanks David. If you want to avoid the ripstop look then these and the Apex pants are one of the few that have great functionality but don't look overly tactical. These don't look tactical at all and the Apex to slightly with the cargo pocket, but they can go under the radar with no rip stop, especially if you get them in a normal color as opposed to coyote

    • @dt7037
      @dt7037 5 років тому

      Thanks so much for the prompt reply. Defender flex and Apex were my top 2 choices. I’ve tried the Apex and they fit great and I’m hoping the cargo pocket will work for my cell phone which I like to use on the left side, much easier to access especially when driving. I just felt the Apex had some features I really didn’t need, i.e. handcuff key etc. Also Apex were a little pricey and trying to avoid cargo pockets. I may need to give both a try to determine which works best for me. Any other cost effective options would be appreciated, and again thanks for your feedback and really like your regular guy perspective on all your reviews!!!

    • @SnareMan
      @SnareMan  5 років тому

      @@dt7037 I carry my Galaxy S9+ in the left cargo pocket and it works well. And in the rear "mag" pocket of the defender flex pants which also works surprisingly well. I think I have totally forgotten about the hand cuff key thing right after I did the review on them. It's not like it gets in the way wearing them or anything like that. I guess you have to decide if you want the utility of the cargo pocket or the look or not having one. LAPG is supposed to be coming out with some every day type pants, but I've been hearing that since January from them so I'm not sure when they will finally come out. They will certainly be cost effective. Glad you like the reviews. Thanks for watching! :-)

    The look great but I called 5.11 and the length is only 36 inches so it won't fit most people 6'2'' and over, unless you have short legs. So for all you guys 6'2'' and over forget it.
