Don't quit, you learn one song two songs and pretty soon you can see related things to build on for the next song. I took it up in my 50s too and it's hard. Do it for you!😊@@kemobam
@@MartyMusic I hope you see the sacred post someone wrote to you. Mems9553 someone said they r 54 and still playing guitar because u taught them when they were age 11
Marty, haven’t watched your vids in a while but I wanted to let you know that I currently play guitar and have been playing music since I was 11 pretty much because of you. My first lessons and song tutorials were on your channel. Keep killing it man, hope you’re well.
Noodling around with pentatonic scales has been hours of fun. The one thing I’ve added recently is a looper and drum beat. It has made this kind of guitar playing endless fun.
Damn, you've teached me guitar when I was a kid, but I dumped guitar after going to high school. Now as a father I decided to try again, now trying for 2 years, but didn't watched your videos. Wasn't happy about the progress because I was trying to learn just some songs from tabs, I was somekind of afraid of trying playing anything thats off my head. Now after just watching half of the video, I played some phrases out of my mind, so damn happy it worked finally for me. THANKS
You gotta keep at it man. I stopped playing too for a few years and just picked it back up couple months ago. It really does takes hours and hours of practice.
Perfect timing, I just started working on this scale last night and its so super helpful to see someone put it into practical use rather then just learning a scale to learn a scale.
I keep coming back to your posts after wandering through the morass of beginner videos. The best thing for me is how you patiently and SLOWLY, explain exactly what you are doing. Plus I get just the right amount of your pro improv for inspiration. Great teaching.
I learned this scale on my own as a beginner and made it my finger dextirity exercise going up and down and back on that scale whilst watching me shows. Whilst practicing, I serendipitousl discovered some ubiquitous and familiar blues licks and I went "so that's how that blues lick that I often hear is played on that one scale".
Thank you so much Marty. Seven years ago I seen your videos and tried to play. I quit but I am back at at thanks to you! You are so kind for sharing your knowledge peace
