The location where she’s witnessing it go down is the inferno rider location! So it makes you wonder how far she must have walked/travelled to get there. Considering she is made of pure energy, in a way, I feel like she’s the direct opposite of a TD yk. Maybe she manifested with conscience but no purpose until rover gave that to her. Who knows, maybe that’s the case with jue too since its still iffy about jue’s life before rover

I feel like the translators naming it Lament did wuwa dirty lmao, that xiao meme is so old it feels deliberate. Like they could name it any other synonym of apocalypse or make something up

@@Noobster474 yeah it's cool if they just meme and have fun with it but some also say "haha genshin copy being shameless haha" I also don't like english translators in general in wuwa. They feel 5050, sometimes it's great sometimes, it's bad.

@@doedoel035 Lament isn't even a "situation" it's a expression.. you are forcing it to be lament with those description when it's just easily replacable with any Disaster sounding name like Ragnarok/Apocalypse/Devastation and mix the words like the WaveWorn which is what happens in the lament. Wuthering Waves literally is the title of the game. And Rover said it in the Shorekeeper trailer and not lament. Japanese lament is literally "Sounds of screams" "Himei"
4:35 This is literally my reaction when we saw Rover. Something about them using both male and female Rover's voice at the same time makes him sound so omnipotent in this game and really fits their backstory. I hope they keep using both voices in trailers going forward.
Talking about how beautiful her walking in a city was, a time travel arc where you go to a big urban city would be really cool

About Shorekeeper's identity.. I think she's Gaia, or "Mother Earth", as it's been hinted she's actually millions (maybe billions) of years old. I believe she's made of the Remnant Energy or "memories" of the planet itself, like a naturally occurring Sentinel, and that once Rover found her through their crazy strong resonance ability they gave her this duty to maintain the Black Shores. This made her feel at peace, as she could finally help her "children" and that allowed her to solidify her physical form on a more permanent basis, giving rise to the woman we see here as "The Shorekeeper"
I get a vibe similar to yours: she's like a God, omniscient and omnipresent but instead of omnipotent, she's totally impotent.. A Deity who sees all, knows all, feels all, but can't DO anything at all.. that's why she is in such agony over the eons, and why she feels so indebted to us for giving her a purpose
she must have lived an awfully lonely life for many years, unable to do anything to help humanity. 😭 i think it's definitely worse to be forced to be an observer when there's so much suffering going around.
i can't wait to see how her relationship with the rover is going to be written out!! after changli's quest, i am sure ready to cry. 🥹
@silopunk also, something most people aren't aware of is that the lore/setting of Kuro's original title, "Punishing Grey Raven" is insanely vast and involves all.sorts of hard sci-fi and multiversal wackiness; similar in spirit to the Honkai lore of Hoyoverse's games.. and if you analyze the lore we've been exposed to so far, especially in Act 5 and beyond there are a lot of parallels between WuWa & PGR that, assuming the lore is connected as it is in Hoyoverse's case, have fascinating implications for where we could be going
I genuinely loved this showcase. Almost made me pull for her. Almost. That said, I don’t really like the idea of her existence just for rover. It feels a bit… weird to me? But I hope they explain that properly in 1.3 what they meant. I heard a few theories why she’s here at Blackshore and what her connections are to rover. So I’m curious! Also, they used both Rovers’ voices and in Shorekeeper’s eyes, you can see both the male and female rover too!! I love that detail because I thought they’d shy away from using female rover and I’m sooo glad they didn’t.
Male rovers voice are in the left side and his character is on the left side of shorekeepers eyes, female rover is at the right side vise versa and In my opinion, shorekeeper is a must pull because she is a healer, buffer and pretty much a better verina with crit dmg buff and extra dmg but yeah, pull who you want to pull
@@Mystical_Guardian Yep, I’m aware but I don’t generally pull for female characters and I missed on Jiyan so he is a priority first. Plus I have S1 Verina and Baizhi built so I’m good on that front, crit damage isn’t the priority to me when most of my echoes rolls into there haha… sadly. But good luck on your pulls! Let me know if you got her or not!
I mean its up to the writer Wuwa to narrate the story or we could get the old narrative where rover is a mere stranger who just pop up from nowhere n pop off with otherworldly power which make them suspicious about rover and so on😅
But Im also curious why Shorekeeper existed just for rover 😂 😂

I just hope there’s a concrete reason instead of the ahhh typical waifu route where the female character exists and solely depends on the protagonist just because he’s the only one who ever understands her. That’ll ruin her character for me imo. We shall see tomorrow!
@@starstarsparkles From the various official posts and videos, shorekeeper is likely a natural born phenomena, energy gaining sentience and lived in peaceful time b4 lament started.
She was devasted by the lament and almost perished but rover saved her by giving her a purpose(creating black shores,etc). I guess after that is how she gain attachment to rover for giving her a reason to live and the bonds they had while they built black shores and their time there.
These are all the inferences that can be made from the information available, so it will be very interesting to see what's more when patch goes live.
all the NPC & the works of wuthering waves are made with LOVE 🥹🩷 the game is sooo addicting! They listen to the players... I don't regret playing the game 🥰

yesss i really love how kurogames has been telling the story! it started out slow, but it's definitely gotten way better now. i can't wait to see more from them!!
