- After playing Soldier for too many times, I decided I would like to play Spy, aka my least played class of TF2 for once! I'm sorry if this is painful to watch, I'm not a good Spy, and believe me this was painful for me too :/

Here’s a mediocre spy tip that you probably already know: if you’re trying to act out an enemy disguise, don’t look at them, rather focus on your team making it look like you look (somewhat) like an enemy
Le spy gaming
You shouldn't try and act out a disguise, it's.alot less reliable disguises should only be used for avoiding sentry guns, and a brief second of plausibility
and another tip, harder to pull off but easier on larger servers, try to act like the person you are disguised as, I was playing in a 5v5 match and a spy went as an engie we had, who was going battle engi, but he seemed too much on a mission, the engi was bumping into walls and didn't use a and d, but the spy did, so I got him, so if you see your disguise, try to act like them
@@depressionkid0352 very true, but if you have a guaranteed escape route for if things go south, or using the dead ringer, then I mean just go for it (acting it out), disguises arent a spy’s primary tool for being sneaky, but they can help in a situation when the enemy has no f*cking clue what’s going on around them, which is something even pros can have happen to them, on occasion
Sniper disguise can do some work if you know how to act as one, personally you shouldn't need to depend on disguises too much as a lot of good players will spy check anything if they have the time

A couple of tips
1 invis watch gives a 20% damage resistance
2 stay clocked untill you see a good pick target
3.medics and snipers are worth giving your life for
4 only decloack when there isn't anyone behind you
5 wait for a noise to mask your decloack, this could be a heavy spinning up, a soldier rocket launcher, or flames from a pyro, and always decloack behind corners (only really works with IW and the C&D
6. USE YOUR GUN

1. That 20% resist is very weak. And considerating how slow clocking and declocking is, you can't exactly use it as an armor like dr.
2. Only good advice as you're bad as Spy and can't matador stab or can't shoot well. Also in casual there are rarely good singular pick targets, and if there are... They're probably the type of people who bad spies *shouldn't* attack
3. Medics? Yes unless they're battle medic. Sniper? Only if he's good, a lot of pub Snipers ate mediocre. I'd argue Heavy is a better pick target than Sniper, since even f2ps play Heavy ok.
4. Sometimes you have to, to get that pick. If you hesitate a lot you waste your team's time.
5. Good advice, wish Spies didn't had to do this tho. Tho it's not always nessesary, and sometimes it's better to declock
6. Revolver isn't as good as nom Spy mains think. Unless you have really good aim it's pretty trash. Max ramp up revolver does 6 0 damage, meaning you can't even two shot a light class, so trying to revolver someone is very dangerous unless you're good at dodging and shooting
@@danielsurvivor1372 the 20% resistance is ridiculously good you can tank a headshot, survive a soldiers splash damage, and get away from alot of situations where if not for the resistance you would've died.
In pubs snipers aren't worth sacrificing yourself for, they're just worth prioritizing over other classes, except for medics. And also the stock revolver is amazing, it allows you to reliably go toe to toe with medics, snipers, and if your aim is godlike, scouts, along with finishing off hurt players

I have that problem too, the moment I see another spy I get the urge to deal with him myself before he can get my team. But them I remember the words of Mr. Paladin "Enemy spies, aren't really your job. Sure seize the opportunity if it presents itself, but otherwise remember you've got more important backs to stab."
As an engineer main here’s my advice for playing spy: when you get close to an engineer, just killbind. Trust me, you’ll defeat the enemy engi in no time.

Pro spy plan: invis watch
ruin the enemy engies day by constantly stealing ammo packs
Here’s a tip from a spy main: stock is always the best choice, unless we’re talking about the invis watch, when it comes to invis watch’s, use the C&D, stock revolver puts out consistent good damage, the stock knife has 0 downsides, it’s just good, if you’re getting annoyed by pyros use the spy-cicle, also pick your battles, imagine you have an opportunity to backstab a medic or backstab a heavy, always priorities the medic, also if you haven’t already turn on auto reloading, its much smoother
Also: USE YOUR GUN, SPY HAS A GUN, A GUN THAT DOES A LOT OF DAMAGE
Also also: press B while disguised to swap your disguised weapon
Just a tip for that heavy that wouldn’t get backstabbed: it’s a likely chance that he was using an anti-backstab cheat or something similar.
Spy is definitely a class that requires lots of skill but also the enemy team to make mistakes, you could be walking to the enemy spawn a soldier comes out and decides that he will be a useful and spycheck, and guess what, since the enemy soldier made a good decision your skill is entirely invalidated. Or the entire enemy team can be pyros also spy’s hit registration is borked

Here's a random tip for disguising and when you should do it:
Note that enemy will have outlines of each of their teammate and spies disguised as their teammates, so it's not a good idea to disguise right at the spawn. You should disguise when you're near enemy spawn/a bit in their back lines, it works better
For Dead Ringer, disguise as friendly teammate, fake death, then disguise as enemy and you have a free trolled tactic
To engineers: please, please please please PLEASE rotate your teleporters and put them up against a wall! I'm tired of seeing easily avoidable telecamp traps.

As a Pyro main trying to play Spy every once in a while, i feel your pain, i don't get how anyone can play spy and confidently pull off a disguise or roam around the enemy invisible, then again it is fun to change your playstyle every once in a while. Keep being awesome man!

Tip: Once in a while pleaseeee choose a fast class as a disguise,if you dont the enemy will just outrun u or you wont get the chance to kill them
I do either medic or spy since you can have max speed with those disguises, but not with scout its way too obvious since you very slow.
@@l0nkzolda202 i ocassionaly use demo or heavy since not most people spycheck those because of the mindset why would anyone pick such slow class. But spy is my best pick
@@flare1168 Seems pretty good for confusing people since most spys go med, disguising as not usually used disguises is pretty smart, expect for the speed decrease, I kinda like playing spy as a scout, like get behind them, shove a knife into some people's backs, and get out of there quick, and that's why I like the Earner.

Here's a little Spy tip: The Ap-Sap makes you more vulnerable since it makes a sound and good players can predict where you're going if you pulled out the Ap-Sap
Well spy takes alot of practice so dont feel Bad if your bad at him at first, if you put In the time you can be a Great spy.

theres this strat i do that always works, disguise as one of your teammates, preferably scout or engie, then just run at the team with your deadringer out, its so useful to get behind the enemy lines without being noticed, almost no one finds out, then after getting behind just disguise as them, and boom, also make sure to cancel deadringer by right clicking right before it ends because it makes a louder sound that way

My number one tip for spy:
You have a gun. It does a shit ton of damage. USE IT.

As a former Spy main (now an all classer), I only ever pick Spy if really necessary or against incompetent players.
Never gonna try playing Spy in Uncletopia, ever again. It is so stressful and infuriating that I decided to even ragequit at some cases.
as a guy that mained spy for 6 years i still kinda die a lot , spy in general is a pretty weak class but if u train u can do some pretty good clips , i suggest learning how to diguise and trick other people into thinking you're their teammate and the invisible cloak to train so u dont get caught as often :D good luck on being a better spy
Ah spy, I'm alright at gun spy, decent at knife spy, I sometimes get lucky with facestabs that should've not happen, but ay spy is quite an buggy class. But had a good game as a Le'tranger reward n' dagger spy with a streamer. But glad to see ya again RocketMann, would like to play with ya 1 day, but rn my pc's hecced, F. I think spy sapped it and stabbed it, damn frenchie..
He has the same amount of hours on spy as I do and that is my most played class. I have only had it for a few years
Advice for stair stabs, air brake in the middle of your jump, and face away from the person. The blindness of a stab also increases the chances of it working, so put yourself behind a corner or cover yourself if ya can.
For me i suggest using the big earner, kunai, or spy cicle if you have a hard time surviving
As someone who plays spy pretty frequently we all started there and will have lives that do that don’t get yourself down. I’m in no way a pro but some advice would be to disguise as faster moving classes, tho I do use the kunai so it’s a little more important to hit stabs than if I’m just going for picks
Spy tip: Don't look at the enemies when disguised and when using the dead ringer, make sure to use the reload button to switch to your teams color so people will think they killed actually killed you because a spy with a dead ringer is kinda obvious
Fun video, but yes, that was pure, insurmountable pain as a spy main.
Another really bad spy tip: If you disguise before cloaking they will see your disguise smoke thingy.
You prob know this already but I saw you do this alot in this video.
And another spy tip:
If literally any class finds you out, especially explosive classes, undisguise quickly+Cloak/DR and take the damage to fly away to safety. Think of this as a rocket jump but you need to abit of predicting where the rocket/shot will go in order to fly away.
The reason you want to undisguise is that you won't take knockback otherwise, and just ssimply cloaking grants you 20% damage reduction.
As a spy main I feel his pain from starting out as spy but now I atleast get top 2 every time, so you can only get better

Something that always keeps me from playing Spy that often are the people who are so relentless they'll chase you all the way back to spawn trying to kill you, and will do basically anything.
You can use this to your advantage, but the problem is that they usually know how Spy works and can get past most your tricks, that includes following a Spy onto a staircase.

Fran, don't disguise as a pyro. You should disguise as a spy or scout.
Here some info to help you improve as a spy.
1) Pyro is too obvious, you don't need to check him to be sure, that pyro is not a spy. If you disguised as a scout, then enemy will take 2-3 sec to notice your speed. If you disguised as a spy, then enemy will take 3-5 sec to look at mask
2) Better watch some guides about trickstabs. This game has >15 different types of trickstabs. Many people thinks, that spy has only 4 trickstabs: "Matador, corner, Stair and blind." (They're basic.) But actually you have 5 levels of "Circle strafe stab, Surf stab, blade stab, frog stab (hardest to do), glue stab, counter stab, counter to counter (C2C), moonwalk stab and more. If you try them all, then you can be very good at spy.
3) Items. Most of good spies uses ambassador, because they actually can use it. Dead Ringer is the best watch, if you now where to use it, don't spend it, when you're above 60 hp. If you think, that dead ringer recharge taking so long, then use l'etranger. (+15 charge per hit). Kunai is good knife, but in most situation, you should use default knife. (YES, DEFAULT, YER SUCKS).

Honestly, you really arent that bad of a spy. The biggest issue you have is a lack of experience and getting unlucky. If you continue to play and practice spy, you could get really good at him!
Pro tip: use the letranger with the deadringer, shoot people to get cloak.
Tip: Dont disguise as engie, any other attack class, or medic. Pick a disguise that doesn't have to do much to be counted as not suspicious. (For example sniper all you have to do is pretend ur holding down a sightline) Also stop disguising in front of everyone. :)

When fighting competent players, only try to do 1 or 2 trickstabs. They will soon learn that you're trying to trickstab them and they'll keep their distance and shoot you instead of using melee. If you fail once or twice just use your gun.
