Goblet of Fire is my least favorite of the movies but in my top two for the books. The movie left out so many of the best parts! I appreciate your love for Order of the Phoenix, it's my absolute favorite of the books and I feel like so many people dislike it.

True the movie really changed a lot of things from the goblet of fire, but it's not that messed up, I mean it's a pretty good film on its own

It took my the entirety of second grade to read The Sorcerers Stone but a week to read The Order of the Phoenix
i took a month to read philosophers stone in 7th grade but 3 days for order of the phoenix....
I read order of phoenix in one day 😌
It also took me for ever to read the sorcers stone but I flew through the chamber of secrets it took 2 weeks to finish it
I flew through the first 2 books. The last book took me the longest.
It's because things got really exciting
and because we grew up with it
Yess Order & the Phoenix is such a under appreciated HP book!! I love learning about the ministry & all the Wizarding politics. Plus Dumbledore’s army is EVERYTHING!! I also love how involved Ginny, Luna & Neville are in the story, & seeing Harry get closer to them 😭🥰 *AHH- thinking about it all is making me emotional*
& there are SO MANY iconic scenes! The Fred & George scene like you mentioned, then when they run into Professor Lockheart at St Mungo’s & when Professor Umbridge is “tricked” into the forbidden forest by Hermione & is taken by the centaurs 😂😂

I have a love/hate relationship with ootp. On one hand, it introduces luna lovegood (my favourite character), has some of the best action and drama in the series, and the ending is phenomenal. But on the other hand, it is way too long, and I hate how it's paced sometimes with long stretches of Harry awkwardly flirting.

I’ve been re reading the series for the last year, and it’s honestly been so much fun! It’s been about 5.5 years since I did a full series re read! I’m up to Order of the Phoenix, and I think it’s my third favourite in the series! Prisoner of Azkaban has always been my favourite(it’s what really hooked me to the series)
Haley Hentze yessss! at the moment prisoner of azkaban is my fave but that could change after this reread of the series!
Prisoner of Azkaban is one of my top favs too I just really like the storyline of that one
I always loved goblet of fire the best, as that is when we finally see Voldermort.

I think the 3rd book is what books everyone in. For example if you’ve read Percy Jackson, the Titans Curse really got me hooked
I just started Harry Potter for the very first time. I think it's perfect since everyone is talking about Harry Potter and reading it so I finally grabbed my earphones and my book and am almost done with the first book.
Thanks for appreciating McGonagall. When I first read the Order of the Phoenix I was so surprised how brilliant her character was. She is defienetly one of my favorite characters.
On my first ever read of Order of the Phoenix, when the book first came out, I didn’t like how Harry was portrayed. Now, the more I read it and the older I get, I appreciate it a lot more - with the PTSD he must be suffering, and those teenage hormones and angst, it couldn’t have been a nice combination. It gives it that element of realism!

This sounds like a dream of a day hahah. What do you do with the sticky notes in your book, is it for quotes?
I also uses them but for book marks
i use mine to tab important things I want to remember! I have 8 different colors and they all mean different things.
Violet = friendship moments
Purple = powerful or shocking moments
Light blue = quotes
Orange = things that i didn’t like, wether it be the writing or one of the characters annoyed me. stuff like that.
Pink = romance or spicy scenes
Yellow = funny or heartwarming moments
Green = plot moments or plot twists
Dark blue = things that made me upset or cry
If there’s a larger battle scene or a cute scene and I want it to really stand out I tab it at the top instead of the sides. And any thoughts that I have I write down on sticky notes and then stick in.

When I first borrowed the books (at age 16 in 2013) I had summerholidays and I basically did nothing for one week and a half but read all the books. I remember finishing PoA at half past 5 in the morning - I never went to such extents for a book before. Best marathon ever.

i'm a ravenclaw and my favourite harry potter book is prisoner of azkaban. i love how hermione is in the spotlight and the gorgeous artifact that is the time turner and the reason why hermione has it is so hermione. i love the cleverness of it too.

I haven't read Order of the Phoenix in so long, it's such a good read 😍😍 I've been slowly making my way through the series again as the illustrated versions come out, but I hope they put more illustrations into Order of the Phoenix. The ones in Goblet of Fire were so gorgeous though!

I'm actually reading the illustrated edition right now and I totally agree - there were so many scenes I expected illustrations for but I was kind of disappointed too. Three days ago I started the order of the Phoenix. I’m 400 pages in and I’ve spent hours on it each day, I’m so happy because it’s the quickest I’ve ever read
I wonder if it’s nostalgia that brings people the most joy for the series. I enjoyed the movies growing up but never had access to the books. Ik I’m missing a lot of details/lore but I’ve managed to learn from online discourse, memes, and the inevitable fan-fiction.
This isn’t just for chloe but for all Australians I’m curious do you guys get the American covers or the UK covers of books? And I’m curious which do you guys prefer? I live in America but for some books I like the UK covers better like for example the new Harry Potter covers from Bloomsbury.

Hello, and congrats for the 50k!!! 🎉 This video was superb, I continued with my current re-read of the series (PoA atm) because of this. 💕 My fave of the books is Goblet of Fire, because it's darker than the first three and because it makes such a huge step in worldbuilding. AND it has the best ending line ever. ⚡ I'm Slytherin btw. 🐍

omg i LOVE Animal Crossing! I finished rereading the first book, but i stopped my reread because a new book (The Girl Who Drank the Moon) came in! Once i finish that i think i might do the same challenge as you, because it looks so fun! besides, i have a hardback cover of Chamber of secrets and Order of the Phoenix, which i both got for free! Basically, the person who looked after my family's dogs well we were away left their book there and never came to retrieve it, so i got it! For Order of the Phoenix, someone (again) lost it, but this time at school, it was in lost and found all year long, but at the end of the year, no one had gotten it, so my math teacher told us if we wanted a book we could take it, so i bolted to the ledge where the book was, grabbed the Hardback version, and made off to the classroom like a bandit
I have reread the series 37 times and i am 13 🙈 i once managed to read them all + fantastic beasts and beadle the bard in 2 days with school (I started on Wednesday at 7:30am and finished on Friday at 12pm)
You must read ridiculously quick to be able to enjoy the books like that.

I just did this challenge from 11:30 am on 4/26 to 11:30 the next day. I read the first 3 books and 100 pages of the 4th book.
I re-read the series a while ago just before seeing The Cursed Child in London and I also underestimated how long it would take to read them! They are chonky, chonky books, it's just that they're so engrossing it's hard to tell how big they are. The first three are over 300 pages which is bonkers for a children's book. Also, I'm a Slytherin!! 🐍🐍

This made me want to reread the series so bad! I was participating in the live but I was reading a book for my o.w.l.’s because I was behind lol but this looked like so much fun 💕 one of my favorite things about GoF was Winky and I was so upset they didn’t have her or SPEW in the movie! Harry Potter is honestly the best way to spend quarantine.
i am a hufflepuff and it really fits me imo hehe. ALSO my patronus is a dolphin and that makes me so happy!!!! 🥰 and i also really love books four and five, book 4 is a fave because i’ve always loved the triwizard turnament setting! so for that reason i had bought the illustrated book 4 and not the other ones bc expensive but oops at there being less images!! it’s ok i am still looking forward to reading it hehe
