Not gonna lie, you kind of blew my mind with the pencil method for sanding evenly. I can’t believe I’ve never thought of that or seen someone do it. Nice work!
Thanks man! I think I learned it from watching videos on here, either John Maleki or Fischer's shop, but it's definitely a really nice method for not over or under sanding!
Great idea 3D printing the pieces that go over the corners to keep it folded up. Another idea would be to put a rod (or two) with guides on each half of the table to keep it flat on small or uneven surfaces
Thanks Loren! Great idea, yeah I was struggling for a while to figure it out. Started with some window latches and that didn't work out so well. I like the the rod idea!
Yeah absolutely, I used what's called Piano hinges, and when I installed them I made the two sides were flat and level before installing it. That gave me the perfectly flat surface all the time and I have been using it for a while now and it stays nice and flat!
I have a T track system I was planning on installing on the bottom that would clamp it against the table under neath, but after a little testing, I think this is good for now. Eventually I need to upgrade it to that, but for now and if we have some leaner gamers then I'll have to get some quick clamps to hold it in place.
Hiding the plate with the subscribe button is both brilliant and hilarious! Cheers!
Thank you 😊

Nice work, and thanks for inspiration! Doing something like that by myself!
Thank you and good luck! I hope your project goes well!

This looks great. I love the finish on the cedar and the 3D printed bits were inspired!
Hey thank you! It did turn out great and I'm still happy with the table.
This looks great, but I’m curious how you get it to sit flat on the table due to the hinge in the middle

Very cool.. any plans on how to clamp it on the table for those gamers who lean?

I couldn’t handle the music it’s so repetitive
Hey I appreciate the feedback! I'm still getting used to editing and I'll try to fix that going forward!
