Why don't Eskom take charge of the power and don't involve government municipal and use theire own system to collect payers money. Why don't eskom built prepaid boxes in all houses and don't count on municipal people to give them theire money and collect it from the user themselves no more government involvement.

How do we as citizens play an active role in ensuring that we aren't taken for a Poe's anymore beside having to wait for rigged elections? If you discover that the breakfast you order is human shit, you do not wait for the morning for breakfast to be served so you can change your order, you deal with it immediately, so how do I as an ordinary citizen go about that in a way that will ensure results?

Water treatment and delivery, building high technology-Low cost electricity generation that only serves the minority population since they would be the only ones who have the intelligence to run such technologies. You can’t fix stupid and BEE has proven that in every single way possible. haven't watched the full interview, but this pretty much sums up the state of our government... the biggest problem is that there is no accountability. In my local area there was a huge increase in cable theft, so i met with my local councillor next to some cables that were lying on the sidewalk from the previous evening where the thieves mistook worthless Telkom cables for power cables. so as i started questioning her about the lack of action being taken against cable theft, she basically explained that the police captain said that they don't guard municipal infrastructure and the municipality must hire guards if they have a problem with theft and i should also not ask her about all the cables being stolen off train lines because that's not her department it's railways responsibility. so we just keep on going in circles and no one is ever responsible for anything.🤦

This is why I will leave eventually, cause this country does not want me here, it is sad to hear, but they can tear it down themselves.
I can see a possible change with the ANC caught recently, but it has to happen drastically, people need to open their eyes and want a change, we afe in a similar position we were in 1994, where we can stop corruption and possible racism, everyone should have an equal chance, cause this is revenge towards people who had nothing to do with Apartheid and we are just feeding the rage in an endless cycle.

Oh lord knows I understand the rules and regulations in South Africa. I’ve been informed about BBBEE/BEE. I also have been told About the horrible things that happen to women every 19 minutes and how 64 people are eliminated Daily. Looks like Government Has Failed the population in every single way possible. I saw that basically a Couple hundred thousand people are the only ones who actually keep the Corrupt Government running in Their Federal Taxes when you look at the percentage rates. A 50 percent unemployment rate with a 25 percent Aids Rate. Letting the municipality’s Sell electricity when the electricity company is already state owned is a Double Tax add that They are totally overstaffed from Corrupt ANC leadership. Almost every local government is a Failure BUT a few in the Western Cape. It can’t Keep Running this Way. Either China or the IMF/WB will either want sovereignty over certain spending amounts Or interest rates will bankrupt the country. The unemployment rates will only get worse because the mines need cheap electricity rates and good Railroads with Good and fast and working Ports. They Will Have Another Riot But this Time it won’t be even able to be stopped unless deadly force is needed but the majority of the people will just take off their uniforms when the entire country except the WC is on fire. Have a plan B because in 12-18 months or less something will happen to start this meltdown.

Behind sabotage? It is the ANC corruption and lawlessness rule of the police in SA. Fact: affirmative action and Black Empowerment are also responsible because people with no knowledge about their jobs or integrity are there to only receive huge salaries and look important. This will never change as long as we have these factions in SA.

GM wants to implement the Turkish owned Karpowership at any cost. Which makes me wonder...The Eskom problem is a very intermeshed and complicated situation. The fact that there is so little help from government, and actually opposing the many solutions that would benefit Eskom, and the fact that there is very little consequence in the crime of stealing, corruption and sabotage, makes it almost impossible for Eskom to function. It is like trying to stop a tsunami with a mesh wire.

I think that is fantastic if there is another way that the people of South Africa can get electricity like what they did in the Western Cape for instance.
Another thing that came to people's minds, that could it be possible to pay directly to Escom, instead of going through a municipality. This would avoid them from taking money and from over spending. Isn't there a method that can be implemented for direct payments, so that the innocent people do not have to suffer. What also happens is that many households get connected to cables to get electricity for free.
What they should do is to go in at certain areas znd do inspections like for drugs or firearms and do some serious changes to stop that kind of thievery as well.

New laws regarding sentencing for sabotage need adjustment. In army "stealers of rations executed" life for anyone implicated in defrauding our power grid.
Same rules as to poachers need to be implemented where the offenders vehicle and all assets as well as the employers are attached. Then life sentence's given to the guilty.
The investigation must go all the way to the top.
Sad thing is they getting instruction from USA&EU.

Eskom should have offices in every town and rand water board etc and we pay in to these offices thus skipping the thieving in muncipalities. And find meter readers who do their jobs properly black, white, and coloured, people ,trustworthy, people. Or phoning our readings in or taking it in ourselves.

For that reason alone R500 bail does not fit the crime!!
