Today while looking for asparagus I was blessed with ten large morels. I have been watching videos all winter and waiting n looking. And fate puts them at my feet. First words were. OMG 3 Morels, I have been blessed.. N I found seven more. And asparagus. I stoped and was looking for asparagus and looked down and there was two pieces an inch away from my foot!! Yes I had my glasses on.😅
I'm about to use my new old stock machine. I found a brand new Jerkey Express Dehydrator at a thrift store in the box!😍 about to dry out my haul from yesterday. My favorite meal is when they are rehydrated in red wine. I have served them over risotto, over ribeyes, over thick pork chips and polenta, of course pizzas.. I just don't like em fried. Before I dry them I think Ill make some eggs and potatoes ans serve with butter sauteed morels for breakfast today. 😋
You could lay them on a cookie sheet and then put them in the sun tell their properly dehydrated I think you can also put them on a cookie sheet and put them in the oven at a low temperature and then turn them a few times but I’ve never tried that.
@@TwinCitiesAdventures thank you! I found some in my yard and I want to make a slurry out of them to make more. I have shredded aspen, flour, molasses, compost, grass clippings, leaf mulch and I can probably dig up an aerator. Any of this good?
A few so far. It’s a work in progress, adding compost and waiting for the wood to rot under the dirt. I can’t wait to see what happens this year in about a month.
Thanks! I was freezing mine but happy to find a way to dry them and save them for later :)

Very nice video! Thanks for sharing!
How long can you store them
If they’re dehydrated, you can keep them as long as you want.
What if you don't have a dehydrator? Is it possible to dehydrate or dry without one?

The next batch of morels you dehydrate can you store them in the same jar as the first batch or should you store each batch separately?
It makes no difference at all, you can store them all together.
Did you have any luck growing morels in your garden this way?

That’s great news. I’m going to try to grow them at home too as I had some luck foraging them yesterday. 😊
