So is the trucker getting charged with culpable homicide? They are supposed to know the rout and do their path of travel inspections when they don’t know. That negligence needs to be addressed and even if it is to make an example this guy needs some sort of punishment. A person died because of his lack of care.
I think that’s a far stretch for criminal charges. I understand your point, but I just don’t see it happening. Negligence causing insurance policies to pay a massive payout? Of course.
This most likely was a state permitted load and the route was established by the state. The drive was following the state mandated route for this load.
So you are carrying a load that size and you don't check the route to see if there are points that may pose a challenge like a railroad crossing? How do these ppl get these jobs to move these things? The person who was in charge of this shouldn't even move a sheet of paper. Sorry for the rant but I'm very upset
Totally avoidable, and a senseless loss of life .. because of ignorance. Every railroad crossing in America that has flashing lights and gates has a control housing with a sign attached saying "In Case of Emergency", and an 800 number to call for this very reason. And with that said, there's a motorcycle cop at the scene watching all this happen with no clue what to do .. unbelievable.
What does it cost to get rid of train crossings that have a high hump in the middle that causes semis to get stuck on them? Prevent deaths, hazardous leakages, property damage, train damage, etc. would be a thing of the past. Senseless!
This trailer was a lowboy not a normal trailer. I drive this road every day and trailer cross this track hundreds of times a day. However, This most likely was a state permitted load and the route was established by the state. The drive was following the state mandated route for this load.
@@templarrising6299 That's not the way it works. The state tell you what route to take for a given oversize load, and you and your escort follow it. If you the driver or escort deviates from the established route, you the driver is fined and / or your license suspended. Get a commercial drivers license with oversize endorsement, you'll see more clearly.
Who hires these morons to deliver these permit loads? With a load that large and no doubt extremely expensive, the trucking company should pre-drive the route or else the permit office should re-route the load. Driver should have a man on the ground to determine if he can clear the obstruction. Nope, gonna try it anyway.
There's PHONE NUMBERS and The Exact Location # of That Crossing At EVERY CROSSING In the Country, JUST FOR This EMERGENCY . That Truck Was Stuck For ????? DID ANYONE CALL "UP" To Tell Them WE Got a Stuck Truck on Track's, BY The Time That Engineer Saw That Trailer Across the Track,,,, IT WAS WAY TO LATE.. That TRAIN Need's Over 1 Mile to STOP.

Kinda a lot on the escort company as well for giving him the ok to try to cross.

The building houses the Texas Rodeo Hall of Fame. Looks like it was once a depot for passenger travel.
It's the ex Texas and Pacific Railway Depot in Pecos, you're right. Jeez it's quite banged up.

The trucking company should have taken another route.. straight up negligence

But that would cost extra money, and we all know that corporations will choose money over safety every time.
68 mph "Highball area" very fast to be going thru a city...our town BNSF goes thru at 35 mph...not that I'm implying it R/R fault....

What's with truck drivers and not taking detours to avoid crossing tracks??
