    Called the factory, and they said it was because I wasn't descaling the unit enough. The warranty has now expired, and I gave up all hope that I would ever make a cappuccino again until I saw this video. This worked beautifully, just the cost of the solenoid and I'm back in business with cappuccinos. Thanks for this great video.

    • @Chad-xs2de
      @Chad-xs2de 2 місяці тому

      I found out that the scaling can come loose during the descaling process and block the tiny holes on the solenoid. IMO you're either going to spend money descaling too much or buying a new solenoid every 3 years. Now that I know the process I'm not to worried about descaling (will still do it when recommended but won't do it more often than needed).

      I have no issue with Cappiccino or any other coffee, but my machine shows very little steam coming out of ground coffee portion. Should I worry?

    Hugely helpful! After my 4300 produced steamed milk/hot water about 50% of the time(failure was just steam leaking out of the pre-ground chute), I spent time on hold with Philips customer service and it boiled down to their offering to help me find a service center to ship my machine to since it is more than 2 years old. I could google that myself and I don't even know what the cost would be. I didn't want the hassle & just ordered the part mentioned in this video.
    The whole procedure was well documented here. I took several pictures during disassembly to make sure I could put things back together correctly. I took care to keep my parts and screws organized as I worked. I really liked the marking of one of the two white power cables to ensure you get it right when you put it back together. I have 2 points to share with anyone thinking about taking this on:
    - I don't know how to remove the top panel without breaking the guide tabs. I spent lots of time pulling and wiggling before finally giving it too much and broke them. This is not really important in the big picture as I was able to reassemble without issue. If you managed to do this correctly, my hat is off to you.
    - Take care when working with the hose clamps. These little dudes will fly off during reassembly if you don't get it right the first time. I spent 20 minutes on my hand and knees finding one when it jumped off. I think it's important to get them outside the metal ring on the hose and not warped onto it, if that makes sense. I don't know how readily available they are at your local hardware store and I'm glad I didn't have to find out. I imagine you might have leaks when testing without them.
    Big thanks to the creator! Happily using my machine once again.

      In order to remove the top cover without breaking these 2 tabs, you simply approach them underneath and unclip with your nail, screwdriver, knife etc. Very easy when you know what to do, however I've had a lot of struggle figuring it out.

      "Take care when working with the hose clamps."

    I checked out 2 UA-cam videos and changed 2 parts, which in the end, did not require any changing. Do yourselves a favor, and before going the extra step of ordering parts, and opening the machine, simply check the LatteGo frother, is not clogged, and does not allow the steam to pass through.
    Check the back end which makes contact with the machine, and look at the tiny hole, what may look like an O-ring, is actually milk accumulation, from taking the LatteGo and placing it in the fridge, with milk in it for a later period when needing the next coffee. Of course, for me, this happened after 2 years after this routine. So just do that simple check.
    Enjoy your Lattees!!!!

    Thanks so much for this incredibly well-done video! One recommendation, though, before ordering the part and starting repairs, and assuming that you've already thoroughly cleaned and descaled it, try doing a factory reset on your machine by powering it down and then holding the appropriate button for your system while powering up (for my 3200, it was coffee). I was in the process of ordering the part, but because it was back ordered for an estimated 50 days - I decided to do a bit more research and found the tip about doing a factory reset - to my amazement, without spending a dime or any repair time, the hot water and milk frother started working again!

    Thank you jbskies! Have my machine back up and working in no time. As for the grounds in the machine, it is simply misalignment of the seal for the grounds hopper under the plastic lid. When putting the top back on the machine, look down into the D-shaped hold where ground coffee is added and make sure the seal aligns with the top of the machine. Mine was off so I used a small flathead screwdriver to gently align the seal. Also, before you remove the top, note the alignment of the grinder adjustment.

    I actually tested the valve first by applying 20 V (from a power tool battery) and it wasn't switching.
    Then I disassembled the valve, lubricated the solenoid, assembled it again, tested with 20 V and it was switching!
    So in my case (machine was around 2 years old only) I didn't even need a new valve.
    It's worth trying before ordering a new valve.

We had our first one for many years, so when we had to replace it, we wanted nothing else but this exact ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxBrV-RbF5Nk0Rlt9i15aao-YMzqzTG8Vf model. We use it for about three people everyday in the morning. The taste and quick brew is one of the reasons we like it so much. There are so many choices of brands of coffee that we would grab what was on sale and test the different brands from there. I would definitely recommend trying different brands of coffee to find the ones you like the most because there are brands that quite frankly taste horrible.

    This fix worked fine and took about 30 minutes going slow. It could probably be done in 15 minutes if you had taken the machine apart before and knew the steps. The only issues I had were the grinding adjustment knob did not pop off like in the video. I ended up pulling it out with the top panel when I removed the top and had to make sure it went back in correctly on reassembly. The clips at the front of the top panel also didn't want to detach, so I used a small screw driver to detach them before removing the top panel. Nothing broke, and it all went back together fine.
    After removing the old solenoid valve, I used a 24 Volt power tool battery to trigger it, and it seemed to be working fine. I think heat somehow affected its operation, as it would steam the first milk cycle correctly, but would dump steam on the next one. The new valve seems to be working fine on multiple steaming cycles.

    Thank you so much for creating this video! My steam was coming from the front and getting weaker. It made less foam overtime. Im having the same issue but it’s does froth sometimes 🤷🏻‍♀️ I don’t know if it’s just me not putting in the brew group correctly or what am I doing wrong? It works when it wants?? Or maybe it needs a cleaning? Idk 🤷🏻‍♀️

    I have almost the same issue but I can drop hot water but frother sometimes will not work. probably the 3-way valve is damaged.

    I have a kinda similar problem. "Steam" is not working, and when I activate it - the steam goes from inside the machine (1:1 like was shown in this video). But on the other hand the "Hot water" works with no issues. Is this still the same valve issue or it may be something else?

      Yes, this is the same issue.

    We have a similar issue. The steam comes out fine when the machine starts. But the steam would come out from the top if I make another cappuccino right away. After about 15 minutes rest, the steam works again, and so on. Not sure if it’s the same issue…

    • @deedeeday7923
      @deedeeday7923 Рік тому

      @@JulieHorsfall yes it did fix the problem I described in my comment. But now we have one more problem that I suspect is a separate one. when it froths, there’s popping sound, a little water dripping, and it makes less foams. We have cleaned the lattego attachment a few times to make sure the “tunnel” is clear of blockage. But maybe the lattego attachment has worn out after two years.

    Anyone know of a cheap place to get the hose clips? Both of mine flew across the room trying to insert into the new valve. Don't want to pay Philips $12 + shipping for two of them.

    Quick question for you. I have the model 3200, close to the same without touch screen. My unit was working fine except for a small leak from somewhere within machine that leaked into dregdrawer. Today for some reason it did coffee grind as normal then all my coffee started pouring directly into dregdrawer and had nothing coming out of coffee spout. Any ideas?

      Sounds like a gasket problem- of which there is also another video on UA-cam for this- you order the gaskets from Philips as well- good luck

      Looked like your three-way valve about to give up. You can wait but it won't last too long.

    Hi. the device leaked. we have opened. Heater connection broke. we replaced it and put everything back together. everything was working fine. today the device leaked again. took it apart again. one transparent tube separated. which brings water to the latte go. and when we put it together everything seems normal. like last time. everything back in place. but now the ignition button is not responding. does not receive at all when pressed. and the device does not turn on. we are not masters. The first time maybe we were just lucky with the repair. can you maybe give some advice? thank you very much

    Hello
    Making cappuccino milk steam is not hot, what is the problem?

  • @reeeeeeeeemmmmmmmmmm

    Thanks for this video! Helped a lot. It's not necessary to pull apart the ground adjustment knob; it just pulls out of the mechanism below when taking off the cover, and pulling it apart probably breaks the very fragile hooks keeping it together.
    It's not normal you have that much ground coffee everywhere inside your machine. You may have to look into replacing the coffee outlet (Saeco part 421941230122) which is pretty fragile and I discovered was broken when opened the machine up to repair the steam problem.
    I have to say I'm pretty disappointed in the build quality of this machine. In 3 years I've replaced the coffee outlet (421941230122), both solenoids (421945001441 and 421944082931), the pipe that feeds water into the brewer (421945045521), and the fragile plastic piece connecting the boiler to its outlet tube (422224777123). On the upside, it's all available and pretty easily replaceable..

      The quality is very pour. No wonder there is a amazon subscription option for the froth...

    replaced the valve, no result - so that wasn't it! gonna try the lower valve now, because there is hot water before that, so that's quite likely the bottleneck. handy advice for everyone struggling with the clips: they go on smoothly and effortlessly, if put on after the brass ring, not around it,clamping only the hose. so push in the hose until you see part of the hose between ring and housing - that's where it's supposed to go.

    • @nhuydo
      @nhuydo Місяць тому

      Did you end up changing the lower valve?
      I changed the top valve as shown in the video but the issue still persists. Seems like half the hot water is going into the internal water tray. I'm thinking it's the lower valve or maybe even the pump...
      *edit* ended up changing the blk pin (search for this product name) that is housed inside the machine behind the brewer unit. Fixed the problem. Thanks for the video, learned a lot.
