Age of Empires 4 - Three TC Is Actually META
Вставка
- Опубліковано 6 жов 2024
- AoE4 meta continues to shift to more greedy openings, and as we see 2 TC openings almost becoming standard in all match ups, the question begs, is 3 TC the new standard?

I fucking LOVE scouts whistling and screaming like "BROOOOOOOOOOO THERE'S A FUCKER RIGHT HERE LOOOOOOOOOK THERE'S ONE, IT'S HERE HEEEEEEEEEEEEREEEEEEEEEEEE!"
It's just so good, it makes me so happy. Especially the female Chinese scout!
Do NOT turn them off. Lower them but DON'T turn them off!
I want them to say them exactly like this. In that language. Starting with BROOOOOOO
YES! ABSOLUTELY!!!
Totally agree!
it makes me actually use my scouts. im not that good of a player and i easily miss things. but this scout audibly informs me that he/she has sight of something and makes me look. so amazing conzept imo
please don't turn off the voice. I love the sound design haha
Ah the scouts yelling is a really cool feature, keep it :D
I actually like the whistling and the screams haha
It’s very immersive.
I think the scout yelling etc is great. otherwise the games just silent.
Bruh wdym the sound design is amazing in this game
We cant really hear properly with aussie's voice, Butt the sounds are awesome, city feels alive, and i remember that you can even hear them growing while getting divers buildings.
kinda normal to not have much sounds except the scouts when they mostly run on plains
Idk what u mean. Not only does every faction have unique voices but the language changes based on what age u are in. It's a easy to miss detail but WOW
My theory crafting suggested that if enemy goes 2 TC you should go straight to the castle age. 3 TC is going to be too slow to catch up. The timing on the 3rd age is around 9:30 or maybe earlier. The difference between doing a 1TC Fast Castle and 2TC Fast Castle vs a 2TC/3TC respectively is that the 2TC gives you the eco to really pump expensive units out which means defending with 2nd age units is much much harder no matter how many you have.
Muslim dinasties generally didn't really have flags in the same sense the Europeans did - and certainly not in the same artistic heraldic tradition. When people used flags they were often a solid block of colour, sometimes with the Shahaddah, sometimes with the moon, that's it.
Imagine you meet the full host of the Abbasid Caliphate, ready to meet in the field of battle, and the first thing that hits your mind seeing their black banners is, "Is that a placeholder or a bug?"
This guys the best commentator I've ever heard
The black flag (which was a square) was the "military standard" flown by armies following Muhammad. They did have other colors and designs depending on the use case but the actual Abbasid Caliphate itself never really had a "flag" to represent them so the "black standard" is commonly used.
I love the Scouts screaming, feels immersive
Hut is really impressive. Also I kinda hope 3 tc doesnt become the meta because 2 is about all I can split my attention between (and even that can be hard)
just ctrl group your tcs and shift click. Also triple TC boom is a big strat in age 2.
AOE4 looks AMAZING!
"when you go up as England to the first age you only have this one option."
*cries in chinese*
lol thats not true necessarily, if you are against a slow opponent you can start the academy and be okay. but yea the barbican is usually much safer
Didn't played them, which two "options" the game offers for them?
@@disc0king21 the english is too basic and has nothing unique or good vs others faction
Chinese- Bee net, tons of good unique units
HRE-Strong and insane infantry
Abbasid-Strongest late game with Camel archer+rider anti both cavalry and anti- cavalry unit such as spearman and having the strongest economic boom
English has nothing except longbow rush
@@stringdoll50 It makes sense. England by itself was not a remarkable country with remarkable military achievements. It's all about the *British* country, and it only really took off towards the end of the game period.
@@stringdoll50 well, they do get tougher MAA and gold income on farms/better farming so they can last into the Late game but yeah they aren’t strong in any aspect, that’s why they are noob friendly tho
We need an early release for preorders like battlefield 2042
I just have to say , 28th October cant get here soon enough. I cant wait to play the other factions we did not get in the stress test.
Abbey of kings need a rework or a severe buff compared to council hall imho
Why do these guys chicken away and surrenders quickly just by seeing a cavalry raid ?? Unbelievable.
Would you rather watch your entire base slowly die and drag out the inevitable in a bad manner way, or would you oblige to GG out and save face?
@@gunkanjima3408 slowly die? One cavalry charge and you would surrender without a push? Dude had 42 villagers on farm too.He should've given a fight.
Hey! Where do you get these replays from?
Ok but I love watching these pvp battles. I myself grew up playing campaign only so its weird to see people be so tactical and fast with everything.
The Abbasid flag variant with the gold circle on the black background looks more distinctive so they should have used it instead.
Love your vids drongo! Are you going to show us some more of your games as well?
Honestly I think they should lean more into the Stronghold vibes they've got going and populate structures with animated villagers doing stuff around town
It's a shame that he didn't manage to put down that white tower castle in the base a bit sooner. That would have changed some things for sure.
Just leave the Scout sound low
The options aren't just all or nothing
Assassin's Creed: Abbasid Dynasty
Everyone complains about how he turned off voices and then completely didn’t realize that he turned them back on later in the video
Imagine being a flag designer for a glorious Sultanate but then loose to sultan's best friend that just painted a silk black...
HI TWITCH
oh wait...
Sweet butter jeus the flag is black.
Though it has a gold circle in the middle.
i love your aoe4 content. keeo it up mr. drongo
Very glad to have someone releasing AoE4 content to fill my void waiting for release
The abassid got always 1 TC ahead? So they are the zergs, right? xD
What does he mean he didnt hide the game time? Im just a little confused about that.
wait, I thought drongo was the Australian Sensation?
England was not yet Great Briton at this point >
not sure why he goes for 2nd TC as an english , the map is not that far and Abbasid is absolutely monster at economy + late game unit that can counter both Cavalry and anti-cavalry unit like spearman
You need to get that Council hall quick and spam longbow to push them
The English is too basic and have nothing unique to compete with others faction, they carried by Council hall longbow rush
Hmmm is there something in the history that england kingdom has and other dont that could be put in thia game ... (Sorry im asking because i dont know england history tho)
@@annguyenlehoang7779 Not an expert either but when I think medieval England longbows, foot knights, billmen and warwolf (super big trebuchet) all come to mind. They already get longbows, earlier and more sturdy men-at-arms and a unique treb tech. They also get landmarks that are keeps and a unique defensive buff when enemy is nearby, so all checks out with their defense against viking raids. I think the English seem so "vanilla" and "boring" because that's what popculture equates European middle ages to, while most of Europe was sufficiently different. Also, from a game design perspective, a vanilla faction has it's place. It works as a foundation for other factions and balancing, while new players have a faction to learn all of the base mechanics while not dealing with specific playstyles or strong strengths and weaknesses.
curious to see how they'll bring infantry into the meta, looks like nobody uses them
Most people who choose Holy Roman Empire go for Infantry and even otherwise I have seen people use infantry
A lot of high level matches seem to devolve into cavalry, namely horsemen, spam.
Let's wait a bit for at least the game to come out before analyzing meta, a lot can change in the game's balance.
I like the scout screams.
Are these videos pre-recorded? I thought aoe4 stress test has finished?
i like the scouts troll actually xD
ding ding ding ding ding ding ding ding first
is it worth? im having second thought wether to buy it or not hehehe
HRE fast imp TC landmark will be meta. Mark my words.
Lol simtom got a defeat streak going on.
"Gidday fellas"
For the English they get gold from their farms eventually. So He's just setting himself up for a late game gold economy.
I wouldnt call HuT a Pro Sc2 player, he's not really relevant in the pro tournament scene with $11k career winnings. Though given his age and AOE being much slower than SC2 I hope he'll do much better here.
HI HUEL HUEL HUEL HEALTH AND SAVORY HERE
dope video
That's good. It's viable.
Chinese gets no love :(
ENGLISH. NOT THE BRITISH. THE ENGLISH.
Call them Briglish and make everyone happy (or everyone mad).
@@thomasfplm Actually, I prefer Engtish.
@@thomasfplm Suddenly world peace was achieved
What's a meta?
Most Effective Tactics Avalible.
@@grandgibbon2071 That's some backronym. 'Meta' stems from the metagame, basically thinking outside of the game rules - in an rts that would be e.g. knowing your opponent and adapting an otherwise subpar strategy to it. At least in rts games it has mophed into what is considered the most effective methods of playing the game with the current ruleset, hence that backronym.
@@Muenni ill google it for you. Meta can be used as an acronym for “most effective tactics available,” and calling something “meta” means that it's an effective way to achieve the goal of the game, whether it's to beat other players or beat the game itself.
@@grandgibbon2071 It being a backronym doesn't mean it's not used that way by many, so I don't see what you're trying to say. If you google a little more, I'm sure you'll find that the term was used long before someone came up with that acronym, stemming from the Greek meaning of 'meta'. I also described the change in meaning in context of realtime strategy games, so I'm not sure why you're repeating that explanation, tbh. That's exactly what I said.
@@Muenni yes but do you see how its kind of annoying to have something youve already explained explained back to you.
OZZY OZZY OZZY!!!
*laughs in mongolian*
Guys this guy doesn't know what he is talking about. First of all you don't need 2 tc , its incredible risky. Who does 2 tc let alone 3? You get get 40 to 50 villagers out of 1 tc just fine you won't even have time to spend the resources from 50 villagers you won't need 2 tc because they will sit empty. Second point, save the labor from making a tc ans apply it to a 8 min timed pushes. Anyone who goes 2 tc will die yo a rush its common sense ignore this 3 tc nonsense.
That's just with China, you got 7 other civs. This is a bad tactic its too much of a macro focused set up you'll be killed by a rush.
This game is just awful
