One advise about Powerwolf: Their music video's are awesome, but they're even better live - and the crowd participation/interaction is typically great!
Hey, great reaction ^^ was very fun to look at. Some information about the band: Powerwolf appear under pseudonyms around which they have built an image as Catholic vampire werewolves - but which they by no means take too seriously (see songs like Resurrection by Erection). They also came up with a story about their creation: When the brothers Mathew and Charles Greywolf (guitarist and bass player) met Atilla Dorn (singer) in a bar on vacation in Romania and said that they were still looking for a singer, the latter reported for that, although he had only had experience in classical singing. Falk Maria Schlegel also plays an important part in the band's music, playing the organ, who is very responsible for the special touch of the music. In 2005 the band released their debut album "Return in Bloodred" and they still make music to this day. Over the years the drummers changed, the current one is Rhoel van Helden, the only one of the band to appear under his real name. They are currently remastering some of their old songs, although some masterpieces have also been able to shine. Have a nice day ^^
Just oine thing is wrong: They aren't "vampire werewolfs" they're just werewolfs hunting down the last vampires in Romania. Also: One of their greatest (and not so mainstream) song in my opinion is their cover from Gods of War arise (the original is from Amon Amarth).
They've got this theme of being catholic werewolves that they're milking for what it's worth with their lyrics. Kinda like a cosplay band, really. :) For the next Powerwolf song, I'd recommend "Resurrection by erection" or "Armata Strigoi" :)
If you want to know whether they mean it or not try to listen to their songs like Ressurection by erection (it's kinda obvious there) or Coleus sanctus (find translated lyrics for that) and you'll see. 😄
Love this band! Glad you reacted to this. Anything from the album this song is on will blow your mind, but I was hooked the moment I listened to Demons Are a Girl's Best Friend.
If/when concerts become a thing again, Powerwolf is one of those bands that you'll need to experience live. "Metal mass". I've seen them four times...once at a festival, three times as headliners. And, a band to add to the potentially growing list of bands that everyone else has asked you to react to...is Mister Misery. They're a very new-ish band out of Stockholm. (Have one album...and opened for Beyond the Black on their European tour last fall.)
What a coincidence, just this morning I was thinking about requesting you to react to some Powerwolf! Armata Strigoi is also a great song by them, especially the live version. Really like your videos, keep it up man!
Also, Powerwolf are pretty great live. Go for Masters of Rock 2015 or Wacken 2019. Armata Strigoi from MoR '15 Demons are a girl's best friend from Wacken '19
They like to play between the lines you know, but the theme actually is werewolves hunted by theyre curse, and some shot here and there, but theyre more playfull than anything, but if you want to know a little bit just listen to the album return in bloodred, the make up they use, is to make them look like wolves
The makeup is part of her show, her inscenation and to save her real indentity. They shows herselfs as werewolfes, but all of them are very nice guys and makes a great show
Powerwolf are fun. And they don't seem to take themselves all too seriously. With songs like "Coleus Sanctus", "Resurrection by Erection" etc. they simply cannot be all serious ;) Anyway, live sind sie eine MACHT: ua-cam.com/video/rpGp_V5Ngvk/v-deo.html "Lasset dän Ackärr ärrbeben!" :D
Best voice. Best music. Best lyrics. They are critical of the church's actions. I saw them live in Germany. Armata Strigoi !! Strigoi in Romanian mythology are troubled spirits that are said to have risen from the grave.
Powerwolf's general theme revolves around eastern Europe versions of werewolfs and vampires. Since those stories often revolve around such creatures being cursed by a priest (or God) this ties into their vaguely catholic imagery as well, despite being on the vampire/werewolf's "side". I'd say they take themselves just seriously enough. They are certainly not a parody band but neither are they hardcore serious. From some interviews with them I read they seem to be able to joke about some of their stuff (and how solemn do you think a band is with songs like "resurrection by erection", "sanctified with dynamite, etc.). In interviews they have also said that they will not comment on individual member's personal faiths but noted that it does not interfere with their general imagery. They are an awesome live band! I've seen them three times delivering "the holy metal mass" (as they call it). Falk Maria Schlegel (the keyboardist) is all over the place, he is constantly running around and encouraging the audience (on one occasion they even had one keyboard at each end of the stage so he always had one close by). (I could add that while he normally plays keyboard, for many studio recording he actually plays a real church organ.)
You must check out this Australian band called Ne Obliviscaris! Song: And Plague Flowers the Kaleidoscope, a song that is taught in an Australian Music School! AMAZING!!
yes, power symphonic metal does exist... listen to Rhapsody of Fire, it's the best example... or even better, react to it, Dawn of Victory is a great song
Powerwolf is a "spiritual band", at least thats what they say about themselves. You can't exactly be sure if the are heavily influenced by the catholic church or if they just mock it. Their "stick" is being werewolves and they are celebrating som sort of "werewolf holy mass" with Attila (the leadsinger) being the high priest. And they have it all on stage... Altar, crucifix, bible, olibanum, goblet of blood.. everything a catholic expects... but then there is the outfit, the make-up, the lyrics, their merch (for example, they have a t-shirt "Metal is Religion") one of their records is called "Bible of the beast" annd the have a lot of songs that are not catholic at all, but weird and disturbing... So in my opinion: These guys are not serious in being spiritual, but they are serious musicians. Everything else is just for shock and show value... and a means for being the talk of the town... like Alice Cooper lifted to the 21st century.
Powerwolf is kind of its own thing. On stage they are Werewolf Catholic priests. They have said, Metal is their religion. Who believes what? Just enjoy it. Next song - Fire and Forgive.
Saw them live a few years ago, they were so EPIC! Haven't listened to them recently though, maybe this is a good time to get back into it :D And since they were at the same concert. Can you do a reaction to Skindred? I suggest either "Nobody" or "Spit out the Poison".
Love this band! They are amazing live, great audience interactions and they sound even better than in the studio. Song suggestions: Demons are a girls best friend Armata Strigoi Resurrection by erection Stossgebet Blessed an possessed Here is a link to a love performance of "Demons are a girls best friend" from Wacken last year ua-cam.com/video/c5v5JPZk0r4/v-deo.html 🤘
As my understanding they have created all new alternative universe where history went like in our timeline. Only that Earth is inhabited by werewolves.
Just listen life to them, a few concerts, read the lyrics, and by the way, when it sounds good, does it mather what they have from clothes on, and if they mean it s.erieus, and there makeup, i don't care they are good really good, i am a nightwish fan, but powerwolf has become a new fan, ME. Oh and by the way, i listen to the life concerts, and all there albums one by one, every song, i love all of them. And they from Germany.
Powerwlof live in Wacken - 2mal 3 Songs mit absolut geiler Stimmung. Powerwolf sollte man nicht so ernst nehmen. Titel wie Resurrection by Erection und Sactified with Dynamite sprechen Bände 😉 Aber live sehr sehr geil, besonders in Deutschland
Their make up is just a gimmick. They use the theme of priests by day werewolf at night. So a lot of their lyrics are about werewolf vampires and such. And yeah it is a band that doesnt take itself to serious. Other recommendable songs are "We are the wild", "Raise you fist evangelist" and "Fist by Fist". And they are a great live band i have seen them live twice and I can highly recommend it. Either stay healthy 🤘🏻
A part of their songs is mean't as religious satire, and some are meant as a critique of Christian churches. But they are not satanistic nor anti-christ.
Hi ! Do you remember that "Wonderwall guy" reference from your video on dragonforce ? The problem with TTFAF imo is that the guitar plays some boring backgrounds sometimes. So to really crush that "wonderwall guy" you need some music constantly more melodic than TTFAF in order to keep everybody interested. Powerwolf has religious lyrics but I don't think they're actually religious themselves (or at least they don't mean the lyrics they sing) because they often make fun of religion through their songs by showing the bad sides; like in Christ and Combat and In the Name of God.

Good song
Don't forget "Stoßgebet", which is full of sex references.
It's great song man xD or demons are girls Best friend... So True xD
Hopefully, gain immortality.
One advise about Powerwolf:
Their music video's are awesome, but they're even better live - and the crowd participation/interaction is typically great!
Agree. Saw them 5 times up to now and they were always a blast. And an atmosphere like in a soccer stadium. They are one of the best livebands ever.
Yes I have never been to one but I have watched a recorded one
Yes, especially Fire and Forgive
While I understand that actually being there might be awesome, but their live videos have always been kind of disappointing for me.
Hey, great reaction ^^ was very fun to look at.

No wonder he appears in his real name, its badass.
They've got this theme of being catholic werewolves that they're milking for what it's worth with their lyrics. Kinda like a cosplay band, really. :)
For the next Powerwolf song, I'd recommend "Resurrection by erection" or "Armata Strigoi" :)
Bro Armata Strigoi live 2015 is insane !
Also to get a hang of their theme i recommend "Catholic in the morning, Satanist at night"
The next reaction vid should be from Powerwolf's song "Demons are a girl's best friend"
They are really in Metal Religion.
they're catholic furries
Ah yes, Powerwolf 😍 the band who cost me 4 car speakers 🤘🤣
😂👌👌
Only 4? That's rookie numbers come back once you hit 200
Sir, i love you in a non-erotic way now.
Ahaha, so true!
In your defense, Manowar told you to.
*Song starts*
Reactors: oh, I have a few moments to comment on this intro
*STAND UP ALL THE NIGHT AND CALL THE FIGHT*
Yes, it’s so true xD
Exactly my first reaction hahah xD head bang and just disbelive how a organ works in metal xD
😎👍🏻
They are so normal friendly guys off the stage. It's not serious what they do on stage. It's just a massive great show. Very funny.
Metal is religion
I love their "Demons are a girls best friend" ❤️
If you want to know whether they mean it or not try to listen to their songs like Ressurection by erection (it's kinda obvious there) or Coleus sanctus (find translated lyrics for that) and you'll see. 😄
First, Try demons are a girls best friend.
Love this band! Glad you reacted to this.
Anything from the album this song is on will blow your mind, but I was hooked the moment I listened to Demons Are a Girl's Best Friend.
I swear everyone who first heard a powerwolf song
We all had the same reaction
are they serious? the song "Resurrection by Errection" should answer that for you ;)
If/when concerts become a thing again, Powerwolf is one of those bands that you'll need to experience live. "Metal mass". I've seen them four times...once at a festival, three times as headliners.

Amaranthe has done a cover from this song!!! And It's Epic
Yes, LISTEN TO IT!
Yeah while the original will always be my favorite I really dig the more aggressive feel of Amaranths cover
Sorry, but Amaranthe just fucks up all great songs
Me first as usual Finally a Powerwolf way to go man
Castlevania metal, thats what this band is. And im happy that there is at least one band out there like that!
What a coincidence, just this morning I was thinking about requesting you to react to some Powerwolf! Armata Strigoi is also a great song by them, especially the live version. Really like your videos, keep it up man!
2:40 yeah symphonic power metal exist
and rhapsody of fire is the best band of the genre
You should definitely check out "Killers With The Cross" and "Incense & Iron" :)
Please more Powerwolf reactions. Nice video. Very good man!
Remember , no song is more epic and no battle as righteous as participating in the Holy Eucharist .
Also, Powerwolf are pretty great live. Go for Masters of Rock 2015 or Wacken 2019.
Armata Strigoi from MoR '15
Demons are a girl's best friend from Wacken '19
I love Powerwolf!!!
This band is great live

Killers with the cross, Incense and iron, We drink your blood, Demons are a girl's best friend, Headless cross (Black Sabbath cover).
I would love to see your reaction to “incense and iron” or “fire and forgive”
Best voice. Best music. Best lyrics.
They are critical of the church's actions.
I saw them live in Germany.
Armata Strigoi !!
Strigoi in Romanian mythology are troubled spirits that are said to have risen from the grave.
Werewolves of Armenia, Kiss of the Cobra King both from Powerwolf - wow! And yes, symphonic power metal is a thing. ☺
I love powerwolf
Literally the ad before the video is Powerwolf! Also the same song...
Powerwolf's general theme revolves around eastern Europe versions of werewolfs and vampires. WE DRINK YOUR BLOOD FOR ME BEST SONG OF THEIRS
my dude looks like a fallout new vegas npc
Powerwolf is kind of its own thing. On stage they are Werewolf Catholic priests. They have said, Metal is their religion. Who believes what? Just enjoy it. Next song - Fire and Forgive.
Powerwolf is great! I have their discs and love it. But i can suggest their songs like where the Wild wolves had gone or sanctified in dynamite
They have werewolf shtick. Thats why their makeup is based on canine fur patterns.
Agree, no snare should sound like the hollow garbage can on St. Anger!!
Check out We drink your blood, Killers with the cross, Armata Strigoi.
FYI, The members of Powerwolf are actually pretty serious about religion and their lyrics have multiple approaches.
I'm a huge Powerwolf fan, thanks so much for reacting to this. Would you consider reacting to Powerwolf - Insence and Iron.
Amaranthe did also the cover of this song, just like the cover for Sabaton "82nd all the way"
Saw them live a few years ago, they were so EPIC! Haven't listened to them recently though, maybe this is a good time to get back into it :D
And since they were at the same concert. Can you do a reaction to Skindred? I suggest either "Nobody" or "Spit out the Poison".
Great Reaction, you can check Demons are a girl's best friend or Werewolves of Armenia
Yea they are 100% not serious about that. Also i'll double on "Incense & Iron" - would like to see a reaction to that one.
Powerwolf are a band who sing about vampiric, Christian, Satanic werewolves.
That should answer your question on how serious they are.
I love Powerwolf. You knoq that their singer is from Transsylvania? And btw. Ich mag dein Englisch! Wirklich! Really! :D
For God
welcome to the metal church
One of the best group to see live, they are juste so amazing!!!
I recommend You Stossgebet or Let There Be Night :)
Love this band! They are amazing live, great audience interactions and they sound even better than in the studio. Song suggestions:
Demons are a girls best friend
Armata Strigoi
Resurrection by erection
Stossgebet
Blessed an possessed

Powerwolf says SHUT UP AND LISTEN
And List?
Reaction to , AMEN AND ATTACK !!
Are they serious? Well... "resurrection by erection", "coleus sanctus(literal translation holy testicle)".... You tell me if they are serious :P
🤣👍

The 1st song I heard from this band was Resurrection By Erection. I don't think they're meant to be serious.

Hahaha that's amazing, I have to check it out. Thanks man ( hate the wonderwall guy) 😉😉😉
U should check of the full album "sacrament of sin"
Powerwolf has religious lyrics but I don't think they're actually religious themselves (or at least they don't mean the lyrics they sing) because they often make fun of religion through their songs by showing the bad sides; like in Christ and Combat and In the Name of God.
They don’t make fun of religion they just don’t take there music super serious
higher than heaven, in the name of god, Christ and Combat, Incense and Iron, fire and forgive
I like this song, it's very catchy. If You like hilarius stuff try Nanowar of Steel - Norvegian Reggaeton.
Is Powerwolf serious?... Does a song Ressurection by Erection rings any bells? :D
Oml idk know that this was 24 hours ago
You should try some Live songs their great. Try Sanctified with Dinamite or Blessed and Possessed or Demons are girls best friends
Demons are a girl's Best Friend, Wacken 2019. Thanks
Does Anything in this video seems serious to you😂😂
I prefer the Amaranthe cover of the song 😇
