- Starting on January 8th 2015 bus services in Malta were taken over by Autobuses Urbanos de Leon, a Spanish subsidiary of National Express. This video was made in April 2015 by which time quite a few of the ex Arriva and leased buses had appeared in the new green and white livery. Autobuses de Leon have also imported some second hand Mercedes-Benz Citaros from the UK. This video is excerpts from the DVD 'Malta Buses & Coaches 2015' published by Bob Hodges Transport DVDs, available from www.bhtransportdvds.co.uk.
Love the buses in Malta really clean and plenty of services around the island .
I love the citaros. Bring them back
Great buses but not successful in Malta!
No the bendys wher unsucsefull
@@andriyriccardotonna1812 very definitely unsuccessful in Malta, I think they only lasted a year or so, some caught fire and they contributed to Arriva losing millions on the Malta contract which led to them suddenly pulling out of Malta.
@@bobhodgestransportDVDs no they lasted 4 years or 5 and 3 only caught fire I'm saying for the green and Wight citaros. They where good for services around malta and good. Stop talking about the articulated citaros
I m talking about the mpt citaros not the arriva
By the end of summer '15 the leased Wrightbus Volvos and Optare Solo SRs had all been withdrawn and returned to the UK off lease leaving the Mercedes Citaros as the only leased buses in the fleet now and the 5xx group of buses (which includes the BMC Falcons) are no longer in revenue earning service. By the start of 2016 all but the 5xx group had been repainted out of Arriva colours.
Unfortunately in 2019 the citaros wher replaced with Turkish shitbox stoker Kent c. Luckily you can find 10 parked at floriana p@r
Love the Koptako Dominant !
