    Awesome build. You inspired me to build a similar bike like yours with my hybrid bike. :) Thanks mate.

      Thanks. Though it's going to be converted to drop bars next week cause unfortunately the bike fit didn't work out :P

      But what trigger/sti are you going to use with 12 speed?

      @@marceloaburaya 11 speed Shimano GRX STI paired with Wolf Tooth Tanpan! XT derailleur and 11-46 cassette.

    cool, I was thinking about building one out with mostly Shimano GRX 1x parts, and like my other 3 bikes, flat bars( 20mm rise with a slight sweep). working through 1x with 10 vs 11 vs 12 speed parts....

    • @frederikroark
      @frederikroark  5 років тому

      Yeah, as I wrote in another comment this bike is now a Shimano 1X11 with GRX shifters and the 11-46 cassette. I'm really happy with this setup and don't miss Sram Eagle much at all.

    Im curious about that seatpost. Any update on its performance and durability as of now? Can you share the aliexpress link?

    • @frederikroark
      @frederikroark  4 роки тому

      Yes, I'm content with the seatpost(s) (I bought one with setback, as well). It's hit and miss, though-one saddle rattles because the interface is too loose. Overall great performance for the price, though. Would recommend if you don't want to commit to the Canyon/Ergon original (not sure if Ergon even produces them anymore).
      The Aliexpress links always change-sellers emerge and vanish. You'll just have to scour through carbon seatpost offers until you bump into one of the offers. It's easy to find them going from there.

    Hi Frederik - thank you for all the great detail on this build. I found this video after searching for 'SRAM Eagle install on Niner RLT' since I love the idea of the 1x12 setup on this frame. How is it working for you now - any trouble with the 10 tooth cog? I hope it's working well for you and congrats on a well thought out project.

    • @frederikroark
      @frederikroark  5 років тому

      Hey Joe! Thanks for your comment! The shifting is just as expected. The 10 tooth is making no trouble, even though there are still very slight marks visible where it may touch occasionally. An issue I have since ever is an annoying clicking noise in the 5th highest gear that seems to be caused by the design of the GX cassette, because I'm not the only one with that issue and others have taken material off of some teeth to mitigate that problem. Anyway, hope it helps. Are you planning to buy a RLT? :)

      @@joemlachak6779 I'm just wondering, are you planning to actually build up your RLT as a flat bar bike? I'm asking because my bike fit is going into pretty wild directions with this setup and it seems like I need to change to drop bars to make it work.
