This song... with the top down in the summer of 86... flying down I5 to LA... not a worry in the world... and clear bottle Miller High Life Beers... Heaven on Earth
Lol . I certainly hope it gets better for you but I can't tell you how funny that was when I read it you made me laugh thank you so much I needed that😂
2011 I had that amazingly good fortune to see them at a shit bar in Daytona Beach. We stood right in front of the stage a mere 5 foot from the band as they played all of their songs tight as hell. $25 a head to get in. I don't know what the heck they were doing playing small clubs but I'm sure as hell glad they did.
Just saw the Fixx live at a free outdoor concert in Bend, OR. They are awesome! Still together and going strong after 30 years! Sounding as good as ever! Support them people.....we need to keep good bands like this around........
I found this wonderful video by querying, "I'll bare one precious scar that only you will know". Wish that Cy, Jamie, and the woman who wrote this song, Jeanine so-and-so would team up for an entire new album. This was and still is a magical song!
I saw you long ago, we were in line waiting to come here, I looked back to see who else was going and saw you, you saw me look at you then you looked down, it was my turn and you, trapped in my mind as I left, you followed 127 days later, both arrived in the same town, then I saw you again years later and I knew I had seen you in that line in Heaven waiting our turn to be here. I've seen you throughout the history of histories and I suspect I'll see you again, Ruth.
The Fixx, with their 80's lineup intact, finally released their new CD "Beautiful Friction" on July 17, 2012 and it's getting fantastic reviews! It's available on Amazon, iTunes and elsewhere. Check out the new tunes and check out the band live on tour with dates at TheFixx.com. Thumbs up to keep post on top!
Wow, I didn't think anybody knew about this one! This is THE lost Fixx track. I discovered this one summer of '86 while driving a truck with an AM radio listening to 96rock AM. Good find!!
William HB: I was just thinking of how this song (and other ones from other bands) are my favs and never made it big. And was thinking there has to others like me out there who feel the same. Then i see your comment. This was Fixx's best song. BTW: What's a Baird? Just kidding. That was a line from the movie The Couch Trip.
The Fixx were popular in Canada, and this song got a lot of airplay in Ottawa (where I lived at this time) and in Toronto. Both of these cities had a great radio station with very knowledgable DJs who played a lot of non-commercial music, so this song was in regular rotation. (sadly, both stations were purchased by media conglomerates in the earrly 1990s, many DJs were let go or chose to leave, & the quality of the music quuickly went down the toilet.)
this was not a chart topper in the day, they had so many other hits. this song got passed over. i'm so glad to here feed back on what i call, more or less a spiritual insightful diddy, with open arms it hit a nerve when i heard it and never left. 30 yrs now.
Lovely, sublime extended remix..... Memories of bicycling through Texas A&M campus during wee hours blasting a 99-cent copy of Walkabout cassette album through my ancient Aiwa "walkman", dosed to the gills on fine white-on-white blotter and fresh shrooms in early October 2001, just after witnessing the crumbling of WTC towers in my NJ/NYC hometown. Nothing can erase the indelible memories of my post-911 Sabbatical I spent in Bryan/College Station and chilling with local DJs at KEOS FM radio station. Good times with the FIXX, The Three O'clock, PM Dawn, Fat Mattress, Ian & Sylvia, and too many other eclectic "oldies" to list here. Many thanks to Herr Straub and his hospitality and sublime playlists of his Kraft-o-Matic Bed o' Nails radio show. The whole Walkabout album, plus some choice Flaming Lips, 13th Floor Elevators, Neutral Milk Hotel, Husker Du, etc. made it all wrthwhile. Ashes ashes all fall down. ....
THANKS for posting this - I didn't realize THE FIXX did this song !!!! And I feel a bit ashamed cuz I consider myself an 80's GEEK and did not realize this was The Fixx !! A really good song ! Thanks again poster!
one of my all time favorite songs.. love this movie too. when i listen to this song and watch this vid i get obsessed and watch for days. its so wonderful. free me
YESSS!!! I finally found this extended version (Thanks to the response from someone on my post of the original version!) Thanks So much for posting this (for me, anyway) Long-lost gem of a song!!!
Cool rearrangement. You can hear how they pieced it together but it's very well done. That tamborine 'chirp at 3:38 and 6:07 is where the song would normally end on the CD, but it's rearranged and you hear it twice.
I love this song 🎶 so much but I prefer the lyrics to be what I always thought them to be instead of "if you hold me you will hurt me" should be: Ooh, if only you were mine.
What an excellent song...hurry someone please build that time machine, that was a great year...
I'd go back to the 80's and never come back
Indeed my friend
I Personally Know.
I Am An 1980's Person

this song is hauntingly beautiful..
HadesObsidian you do not phase me one bit...

One of the most underrated bands ever. They sure had a boatload of hits back in the day.
And I got to see them last weekend!
For 6 minutes and 56 seconds...ALL WE were passengers in time.
The most raw and emotionally vulnerable song ever produced......brilliant.
My favorite song from The Fixx
This song... with the top down in the summer of 86... flying down I5 to LA... not a worry in the world... and clear bottle Miller High Life Beers... Heaven on Earth

Probably their best written song.
Something happened when I was a kid and this song always brings it up. I can't hear it without crying.
THIS MAN IS HIS OWN DRUMMER! BEST TUNE TO MOVE TO OR SIT IN THE SUN!
Great song. I love all of their music. Great memories
Good times.....good times back then. I had no idea how much those lyrics were trying to tell me something back then.

A beautiful cut to a fascinating song. Well done.
Nice............thank you!

The Fixx were a funny band, they were secretly popular. Just enough people knew it.
I love this song 🎶 so much but I prefer the lyrics to be what I always thought them to be instead of "if you hold me you will hurt me" should be: Ooh, if only you were mine.
